  • Yeah, but it has no hdmi port. Sucker!!!

  • I find it amuzing, think the guy in the video is cranky because someone makes more money playing a game than he does doing his job.

  • It ain't different from today's so called "real" money... it's all virtual.

  • This is so retarded i don't even...

  • Watched some of your videos and kinda liked them, but this video really shows that you have no clue what you're talking about. This is probarbly the first negative comment I've ever written on youtube and the last video I'll watch from these turks, who apparently are clueless and when they are clueless they rather mock the people who are smater then what they themselfs are.

  • The young turks? You guys sound like dumb fucks. You did no research what so ever about this story. wheres the unsubscribe button .

  • The presenter of this article is so stupid because she has no clue about what she's talking about. EU is a virtual world with a REAL CASH ECONOMY so its pretty normal for money to have a cycle in there and actually if you have plenty of $ why not doing it, i would've do it if it brings profit..YOU would've do it, ANYONE would've do it. So please get a life and start presenting stuff with some cartoon celebs or something.

  • hey dont hate cause the man is laying in bed with a laptop and 2five star ladies

  • when john Jacobs goes to spend that money....how is it down the toilet?

  • @vineedave

That guy is probably making 40-80k a year off of his space station. He'll pay it off. Then he'll have money AND a virtual space station.

  • It's just like buying stocks. Why pay money for something that doesn't even exist?!

But actually, the guy made tons of money off of his virtual space station. Crazy hey?

  • @frenchmen77 I can't tell if you're joking or not...? Stocks / shares are real. They represent a portion of a company or a piece of gold etc... If a company is broken into say 100 portions, then each portion is 1 share. If you own 50, then you own half of the company. The money you get paid every few months is your share of the company profits etc... If the business goes bust, then your stock in the company is worth nothing obviously. They are very real.

  • I Hate Bastards like this. Who Make Claims of people being stupid ect ect even when THEY DONT UNDERSTAND! -_-

  • Oh wow these people did no research whatsoever for this vid it seems, looks like they ran with the title of an article, disregarded the content and made a pointless flame rant with it.

  • Propaganda. As simple as that go back to Turkey. My "1%" doesnt want you here.

  • You don't understand. He's not dumb. Belive it or not, but he'll earn it back in notime. It's an investment.

  • I have a relationship with ana in the tyt virtual world

  • @dorkydevil That is not a virtual relationship.Your hand is real LOL

  • well shit....guess it's time to quit wow and start playing this game lol.

  • @chucknorrisgawd I played this game before I started playing wow in early Burning Crusade. Very expensive to play, but I still do from time to time. You're not just gonna stroll in and hit it big unless you are very, VERY lucky, or very smart and rich (for speculative investments) to start with. The door is mostly shut for cheap play.

  • @Criterion515 oh, so to advance in that game you have to spend real life money to buy shit? I'm just confused because this souns so much different than a game like wow

  • @chucknorrisgawd Yes. Technically you buy money in the game, which you buy weapons, ammo, armor, clothes, mining equipment, tools etc (everything) with. Sounds like micropayment play, except you can also withdraw if you desire. The very best items are EXTREMELY limited, not farmable like in WoW. When I say limited, I mean 10's of thousands of US dollars. The money to be made there is in trading and land management, both of which take money and know-how to start up. It's also very addictive.

  • @vineedave That would just be wasting money... $300.000 for bribing treyarch for a one higher prestige? Can you think of something more useless and stupid to do with your money? You see when the game economy goes up he can actually sell it for a higher price and he PROFITS. It's like an economy.

  • @vineedave ?

  • @vineedave So a PS3 game costs about a $1000 now? You are the idiot. The guy is actually making money from buying this not losing, the game works like an economy...

  • so a website like facebook or myspace being sold is also stupid? this is kind of a ridiculous way of thinking about things. The web is all about information, socialization and entertainment. If this guy spent 300k+ on a property in game, then he can A) afford it and B) probably section off small parts to other gamers for a price. It's like a website selling individual pages. It's fucking brilliant, not stupid. As long as the in game economy is good, he will make MORE money back.

  • Btw, a group on eve scammed 1.2 trillion ISH< and its worht 100k USD, now what?

  • How can these people say "people are crazy" "this guy is the dumbest man in USA" no, he probley invested it and made profit on that house. If you can buy items for 335,000 dollars, you can sell it for dollars.

  • @Tilyard123456 What people aren't understanding is that it wasn't "a house" it was a space station with hunting and mining areas that are very popular, have unique mobs and are TAXABLE. Neverdie made way more money in taxes than he sold it for during the time he ran it, and he bought it for 100k originally. He's now occupied with his own planet and also needed some extra money to help Cheri Moon (his wife) with her music video.

  • I think people can spend their money on whatever they like, also whats with all the lefties and their "OMG SOCIAL INTERACTION IS CHANGING I'M SCARED" attitude towards life, seriously its annoying if your for being progressive then you should be for the changes in the way human beings socially interact and virtual worlds are just one of the many different ways people do it. Also its not all that different from buying property in real life, its just another version of real life to the users.

  • what the fuck is your problem you dumb bitch. if he has the money he can spend it on whatever the fuck he want. dont be hating on him cuz you cant do the same. its democracy whore. people can do whatever they want with their property or money

  • @Metal6Empire Lmao are you crack?

  • ok you 2 are the dumbest. i mean the DUMBEST "journalists" (you are not even that. ur retending to be) EVER. if you would have a lil bit of brains you would realize that that guy probably did the smartest thing ever. now i do not even play that game and i realize that he probably got a great profit out of that. thats a very nice investment right there. so if you idiots want to laugh at something laugh at yourself cuz you just broadcasted the dumbest thing ever hahahahahah

  • I've never even heard the game, so tells me a lot of how smart this guy invests his money.

  • This lady is so upset for not making money as Jacob did.

  • if thier is going to be a virtual tyt can we make ana's breast a little bigger

  • The person who paid that much for this internet virtual reality property did so because they can make a good investment from other gamers wishing to use that part of this online gaming community. It is no different than people who buy and download music or new game levels and add ons for popular PS3 games. I think the two reporters in this video are just totally out of touch with modern technology and ways to make good money off it. Suckas.

  • Comment removed

  • sadly if its wanted ppl will spend money on it if they have it. i think if u can convince someone with that much to spend, that data is worth it on a free to play game, ur a bit more impressive than the ppl in this video lol. this video just bashes the guy.

  • who gets the money?

  • the thing is he almost made his money back.

  • So fuckin much haters here. First of all, it doesnt matter if it was an investment or not. He had the money to buy it, so what you jealous pricks?

People pay money for overpriced stuff which has to no value to us all the time. Stamps, cars, a piece of painting. He paid that price because he think its worth that much. Good for him, so stop hating and go find yourself 300K and spend it some crap you think its worth the money.

  • thats a new level of nerds lol

  • Lol, dumbest person in America? The person who bought virtual land, made a well known virtual club, and is making constant money off of it? Sounds like one of the smartest to me, he did what all the other American pussies were to scared to do, which is TAKE INITIATIVE, instead of trusting banks with all their money.

  • what a looser :)))

  • At first I was like WOAH.

But then when you think about it, money is virtual as well.

  • Can i have that money for university O.o ?? ... insaaaaaaane

  • john jacob jingleheimer schmidt?

  • monkeyss!11

  • 400 people are ignorant.

  • These TYT tards can't seem to research shit , all way long misleading news

  • If you dont like it....dont play the game??

  • Again ppl laugh without understanding... he bought land and makes money from other ppl playing on it. That's an investment... and he didn't flush his money into a toilet like all the stupid jerks who trusted their REAL banks and lost their REAL houses.... so much about who is dumb.

  • LOL, the guy who bought it made more than what he payed for. its called an investment. whatever his space station makes ( its not land or a house its a space station ) is being transferred directly into his account. just like having a house in real life and leasing it. same concept.

  • Comment removed

  • i played it for 1 year and got tired , 90 dolars invested and got a return of 1800 dolars. Most of it i spent it in airsoft gear

  • what a fail video... check facts idiots :))

  • i have to play this game lol... can you make a mc donalds? XD

  • Now is the best time to buy virtual homes. The real estate market is at lowest right now.

  • @CHAOSoriginal You mean the non-real estate market?

  • He's the dumbest Rich man that I know.

  • epic fail turks

  • People pay for pixels all the time. Look at people buying WoW and other mmorpg accounts, currency and items. Yes, it's a dumb concept, BUT the guy who makes money off morons who buy pixels isn't dumb, he's just taking advantage.

  • the guy who bought it actually made his money back, and is making more on in-game taxes, and its not a house its a whole space station

  • I'm not into entropia or second life, but I think this is great for people that cannot leave their homes etc. At least with virtual real estate you don't have to worry about the neighborhood going bad. Therefore it could be a wise investment.

  • I'm really surprised you guys are making it out like this is a negative thing. This video game made John "Neverdie" a very wealthy man. Because of him purchasing the asteroid in the first place he was able to make his own planet in the game and open his own business "Neverdie studios" where he works on the game and has a record label promoting up and coming artists. His world "rocktropia" was created to find new artists and get them paid! He's helping people more than you know.

  • @dudemandye Awww poor baby! Did they hurt your feelings? Grow up! It's a game idiot

  • It's not stupid considering he is turning a profit with his virtual real estate.

  • I bet the guy in the interview has bought virtual land...I mean listen to him at 1:25

  • good luck to this man,, they have been doing the same on second life for years,

dont be so smug there are celebrities on most of these virtual worlds games

  • Could you not just take a few photographs of a really huge mansion, stick them on your computer and look at them every now and again?

Or am I missing the point?

  • @cupmyplums The land he bought is an investment. He profits from it.

  • PS TYT lost one subscriber and any entropia fan/player should do the same.

  • @ TYT Do more research before you call a man that took $100,000.00 usd and in 8 months had made his money back. How can you call him dumb? To the People that bought it from him, they will be bring in anywhere from an est of $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 a month. How can you call those people dumb?

  • @dudemandye Honestly I don't think they researched this at all or they would have seen exactly what you said and talked about how smart of an investment that was and how that guy who paid $300k for it can probably keep it for a while and sell it for double within a year. This virtual world holds it's value on property WAY better than any place in the real world. Virtual real estate is where it's at. They're both very smart guys!

  • In fact, it helped the economy, because more than $300,000 were roated on the economy instead of staking in the guy's bank account. Stupid hoe. Seriously. SERIOUS fucking LY!

  • This show is stupid. That bitch is a hater. That guy is a dumb ass. Seriously. Like someone previously stated, they need to do some research before talking. I'm sure the real estate sold must have been huge and well worth the money. These morons make me laugh and it's why me and other make money off you goons crying about the economy going bad. That money did not get flushed. There is no such thing as deleting money. It was simply given to another person. Stupid hoe.

  • This is one of the STUPIDIST things I've ever heard of.

  • @hempartist420 I agree the money could have been put to a better use. All I am saying that it is his money and he has every right to spend it on whatever or whomever he decides.

  • @hempartist420 Second Life has been selling real estate for real money for years! Besides my point is that it is his money he can do what he wants with it!

  • @hempartist420 typical response from a uneducated idiot with the brains of a goose berry bush! These people made their money it is theirs to do with it what they want!

  • @hempartist420 Why the hell would he help starving children? They all ready breed far to much. We would just have to feed their children when they breed. Time to cull the herd of the weak and infirm!

  • great way to launder drug money.

  • the economy is a disaster because it is in the hands of international banking inbreds / retards.

  • The dumbest guy in the world is calling other people dumb. How hilarious! So many people commenting and know nothing about it. Do your research bunch of retards. Get with the times.

  • mind your own business. he wants to spend his money so what?

  • whats with her right in the beginning?? ur gonna lllluullluuuuve this story. lmfao

  • Although John Jacobs may have spent an exorbitant amount of money in his virtual world, it's his choice, and the money spent will cycle through the economy, eventually landing in the hands of someone responsible enough to start a home or small business and use it to produce jobs. SO.... SUCK IT TURKS.

  • he definitely didnt wast his money. when it was all done and siad i think it was around 600,000 he mad on the deal. Pretty smart if you ask me

  • YOU CAN TAKE OUT "1000 PED: $100.00 USD", At a minimum. Say you deposit 100,000 Grand. You take those 1million "PED", purchase land, and build on it. Take the time to build what people want ! As jacob did ! Re-sell it in peices back tothe community, at a "MU" mark-up on each peice increases the retail return for a large withdraw of whatever you made on it. It's not crazy, it's not going to spiral an reccession. So lay off ! Who cares what people do with their cash! It's not the'r fault theygot $

  • -Continued-

But seriously, you really need to take a look for yourself before vroadcasting such ignorance. Fucking turks ..

  • -Continued-

"flushing it down the toilet", is a very HARSH statement. Sure you can talk about entropia as if it's taking over, and making everyone crazy! Your right, it is. There are no fuckign celebritys, or high rollers here. All determined players, looking for the're peice of the worlds ecenomic NETWORTH. All this has been brought up now? What about the 100's of other nameless games that people "flush it down the toilet". never seen you have the audacity to comment on that ! - Cont

  • You guys are obvlivious to the 'virtual economy'. We can see that, and obviously you have the audacity to rack up a stupid show about this. Well listen, people have dreams. One of which is the dream to be paid PLAYING a video game ! Entropia universe exploits that dream and uses a real cash based economy. NOT everyone can do what jacobs did, and not everyone wants to ! There are so much in congruent factors about this game, it would take over 100K words to describe it all ! - Continued

  • I did some research on this Jon Jacobs and this the same Jon Jacobs who is actually part of the Jacobs family who is suing JK Rowling over the "Willy the Wizard" lawsuit.

  • Remember; we need to give money to the rich to stimulate the economy and create jobs ;-)

  • The way this story was reported, it was instantly obvious to me that they have no idea how the "game" ROCKTropia works, how incredibly complex the economic model of it is, they seem to think that Jon "Neverdie" Jacobs sold a virtual 'house'...LMAO!! Get your story clarified! He sold a virtual ASTEROID with a virtual nightclub on it, around 24 biodomes, a stadium (for PvP events), what they just don't understand is that Neverdie was making around $20,000 every month for 5 yrs BEFORE he sold it!

  • @rosewoodstrat i was just gonna say the just about that.

  • I did some searching on this subject and people who play this game buy items with real money. And those that own the property can use to sell items. The property he bought is a virtual space station mall and since he owns it any products sold there he can make money of taxes he sets and so on.

It still is a waste of money, but in some odd way he might make money doing something like that. People are dumb.

  • Its worth as much as somebody else is willing to pay.

  • If I were to have a WOW character for example on sale at craigslist, maxed out with gear and whatever else is suppose to be "cool". I played it and leveled it myself and enjoyed every minute doing it. Now my character is the biggest baddest motherfucker ever in WOW. Now some lazy smuck with a few bucks comes along and buys my account for 100000, that DOES NOT make me a genius in ANY FUCKING WAY! Yaaaa for my 100000 dollar ass but still doesn't take me closer to being a genius on any level.

  • I'm not sure how much money I'll leave behind. This is real life - so I'll have to wait till I'm dead I suppose. Making money easy doesn't make anyone a genius, come on really? You must be easy to impress then if that is your line of thought. Go ahead and smoke your weed, that's fine. It should be legal anyway. Also, I agree with you. "Fuck minimum wage". I assume you are quite young and/or uneducated if you are wrapping your head around how NOT to work minimum wage. That was decades ago for me.

  • we can't afford shit.. but if he got it, spend it anyway you like, nobody gives you shit unless you get it yourself.. this bitch just needed a story for her show.. john jacobs made 335 thousand.. I know people that make money there.. its capitalism bitch love it. quit hating cuz you cant do it.. or got the mental creativity!!!!!!

  • @DeorRecords Mental creativity? So creative........ you are being laughed at - rolling!

  • @online2onroad that sounds like a pessemist thought. he made 335000 without working for it.. now thats genius, fuck minimum wage, you go ahead and break your back for minimum wage, and i'll just laugh at you -- rolling some weed! money is just fucking money, people die every day leave millions to nobody.. how much will you leave behind?

  • It's an investment. Like a painting, or a rare postage stamp. No real value except what people place on it for it's entertainment and sentimental value.

  • Whoever bought it probably made it back and then some because someone in that game bought a "piece of property" for like 600k and sold it for 1 million recently!

  • Did anyone consider that this may simply be a money laundering scheme? If you think about it; You could easily pay someone for black market activities using these virtual worlds as a means of legitimizing the financial transaction

  • @donjeremias good point there.

  • i see nothing wrong with it when you can make that amount of money.

  • Holy crap! Thats really stupid lol. I will admit I love to play video games, but I ain't gonna spend thousands of dollars just to buy virtual property lol

  • he had a choice ...give it to the x- wife in the divorce settlement..or ....

  • @dangermous1968 Iam talking about the buyer

  • Someone just loves wasting money. 335,000 is half the value of my house.

  • JOHN JACOBS!!!!!!

  • Geezuz....I can't even afford a REAL house and people are flushing money on virtual real estate.

  • john jacobs...Jingleheimerschmidt?

  • Why don't get your fat asses up and do something about the economy if you thing its that bad!...

Just like the people on my country, all you do is complain and whine... Why don't you revolt instead and kick the government and the other shitty politicians out of power instead of whining?....

  • @Valen630 rebel, by killing people and blowing shit up!

  • @trisnjok Yeah, that seems to be the only way to get the ppl in power attention, by being agressive.

Strikes? Pffff for what? They will only shit on you even more, the same with parades.

  • Blah, blah, blah, The economy is a disaster, the economy this, the economy that, im sick of hearing shit whining about the economy!

If 1 had 1 bilion dollars or euros i would spend it on game stuff i wanted to. Because its MY money! Its better than let it get robbeb by stupid taxes, and by those live at cost of our earned money.

  • I love how Cenk automatically assumes the buyer is a republican. sigh.

  • @EricTF8770 No, he assumes that he is in the upper tax bracket affected by Bush tax cuts, which is probable given the money he's throwing away.

The politics of the buyer is not at the heart of the issue that Cenk is illustrating. People will do what they want with their money regardless of how they think the country should be run. It's the grotesque amount of wealth that the super-rich have accumulated under Republican policy that is the issue, which makes wasteful spending like this possible

  • Some people do drugs. Some people drink. Some people do sports. And some people invest on there virtual world. Lay off it people, if it make them happy & doesn't hurt anyone why mock them for it? Its no different then someone buying the latest add-on weapon for an Xbox360 game vea paid download. I do think he spent that money stupidly tho....he could have created his OWN virtual world, charged people and ultimately make a profit while still having what he wanted.

  • tits or FTFO

  • only in America...

  • So thats where the tax breaks are going.....

  • And then his computer crashed...

  • @GoogleVideoMan LMAO.. good one

  • @ the guy in the studio

When you start talking infront of the camera first do some research dude, cause you make look yourself like "the most stupid man".

Jon "Neverdie" Jacobs made a large profit from his asteroid which was the biggest vitual sale at the time. At the moment he owns a planet and keeps on making money. Entropia is a game you use real cash for and you can make real cash. Jon is just one of the guys who made it.

Do bloody research before you start laughing ffs...

  • @ThalionJasDraug Good job being "unable" to research Cenk's name, really helps your speech alright.

  • @ThalionJasDraug Lmao they just got owned

  • An appeal:

Ana, you are intelligent enough to do actual reporting on important issues. Do you really want people to stare at you while you narrate inconsequential crap that Heraldo Rivera wouldn't touch?

We (at least I) shall wait for an answer. Love (Just kidding).

  • What a load of crap

  • It's still a bad idea even if he makes a profit, becase at some point, somewhere, someone's going to lose out. Someone's going to have the land and not be able to sell it.

It's basically a pyramid scheme. Jon Jacobs might not be the one to lose out but someone will.

  • $100 000 ? what a good deal! where do I sign?

  • Do your fucking reaserch next time you make a video.

Jon jacobs broke even with the thing first time around in under a year.

  • total cost of the virtual property: $335,000

total cost of the hard drive space that property takes: definitely not that much lol

  • it 's clear that no research was done whatsoever to make this movie..

Let's check how bad idea it was to buy that piece of virtual land:

    -Initial cost: $335,000 USD

    According to ET, last 7 days = ~400,000 ped globals = $ 40,000

even when things turn "bad" after a while, say 300k turnover/week

And let's say taxes get set to 4.5%

    So we have ~14k ped/week in taxes x 52 weeks = 728,000 x 3 years = 2,184,000 ped = $218,400 in 3yr

He could sell it for less than he paid and still have nice profit

  • I can understand paying that much $ for land in a virtual reality or something, but not in a simple 3d game!

  • What a stupid commenter .... DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST before making news idiots !

  • If ignorance is bliss you 2 must be the happiest couple on earth. A piece of advice, nex time do your research first like any real journalist do. This is extremely unproffesional.

  • @calavera2003

    oh yeah...good one :)

  • Hey turky guys, I am thinking in this: What have told the wife of the first shareholder of the television when she learned that her husband invested several million dollars for invisible waves that would be sent through the air? :)

  • OMG young turks live in the 20th century !!

  • its apparent someone didnt do their homework. :-)

its best to educate yourself on a topic before you try and trash it.

  • god you got the facts all wrong, he is probably the cleverest man in USA to be honesy, or well from what i have seen.. no ofence usa guys

  • @LetsJustSayJames

Actually, I'm not sure he's from the US. ;)

  • omfg....young turks. YOU are real idiots. You didnt dine basic research before broadcasting that material. I am participant in EU and i am only laughing now form your news, your ignorance...basicaly from you.

Owner of that virtual property probably raise that USD in 2-3 years back from taxes from ppl doing various activities on his new property.

Young turks....you failed big time with this

  • I'd like to announce I have a Virtual US Congress for sale

Who would like to start the bidding?

  • I dont understand how buying something that will pay for itself in 3 years while still retaining its original value in addition to that could be considered dumb?

Did you do any research before you ran this "news" ?

You don't look like idiots too old to understand what the internet is, or to understand even what modern currency is based upon. So why do you make fools of yourselves like this?

Jon did what others were unwilling to do and invested in the future, now someone else is as well. SMART

  • Think about it. You have $300,000. What do you do.

Buy a virtual property you cant live in, but can look at. OR

buy a real property, in which you can live, or even rent it out if you need the income.

    HMMMMMMMMMmmm I wonder.

Christ its so fucking obvious it makes me laugh. A vitual property will not go up in value forever. There will be a point where someone's left holding the bag.

  • Authors = retards...

  • dumb... this newsflash maybe

why is it dumb to make an invest with a estimated amortization in 3 years

make your homework before streaming shit.

  • @Joeycomesalong

The same reason it was stupid to buy a home in the real world 3 years ago. If you cant predict a housing bubble in the virtual world i feel sorry for you. The collapse in the real world happened for EXACTLY the same reason the virtual collapse is going to happen.

This is a bubble and pretty soon its going to collapse and he's not going to be able to sell his virtual property for 10 cents.

  • @hornet1204

the difference between the real estate and the virtual is, he will still earn money from tax within the entropia universe even when the bubble will collapse and the price of the property itself will go down. The former owner made around 10k$ /month only from Tax. (sorry for late replay ..was to busy)

  • Funny. So somebody makes an investition with estimated amortization in 3 years and he, according to this famous wossinsame in black suit and questionable shirt, is dumb.

Would have been common sense to inform yourselves first of all that the guy didn't bought a house, but an estate which produces income. How, why and in what quantity would require a wall of text here. And is not the point.

The point is you're some mindless parrots :-)

  • @maddahy

Would you call people who bought real estate in the real world, before the housing collapse dumb? I would. Thats pretty stupid. Buying something only because it makes income, and not for ANY OTHER REASON, is a disaster in the making.

  • Anyone want to buy some hypothetical land?

  • TYT is a virtual channel, Your videos are virtual, Your money you get is virtual, Your bank is virtual, The savings you have are virtual, the shares you buy are virtual, the house you "own" is virtual until you pay. The city you live in is virtual, the state reside in is virtual, the country you are a citizen of is virtual!

And finaly, what in the world makes you think that the contribution you've made with this video is worthwhile and "real".
