I'm hoping some might film 5043 going into Liverpool and back on Saturday.
I know 46115 is doing it's thing over Shap Again(no pun intended) I'm just hoping that some great coverage of 5043 on this Vintage Trains Special happens.
@Mikelandscaper Hi Mike. I'm hoping to see 5043 at some stage, but the timings haven't appeared yet. The Scot has been out quite a bit this year, but it's a great performer.
Great coverage Mike - good to see you again. Wasn't that drive home a nightmare? Surprising how clear the view on Beattock turned out given the attrocious conditions. Chris
@khankadet Thanks Chris. Hope you didn't get too wet, lol. It's surprising how well cameras can deal with poor lighting conditions, so long as they don't get wet.
Good to see you again, and hope your better half enjoyed the day out. Looking forward to Lizzie up there in November -- full sun !!!
Three very good shots Mike , the Greenholme shot worked well even in that wind . Nice to see you again just a shame it poured down LOL . The drive back was terrible with the strong wind and the monsoon . Steve
@TheStephengthompson Cheers Steve. I thought it best not to try and zoom or anything at Greenholme given the conditions. The weather was actually far worse drving home, especially around Scout Green. Lets hope next time we meet the sun's out.
@johnandrewwood Thanks, pleased you enjoyed it. The conditions can change so quickly in that part of the world. Funny you should mention the Lottery as I've actually won the Euro 2 weeks running -- the grand sum of £2.60 each time !! Perhaps I'll get lucky this Friday !!
Great effort Mike. I really like it when the trains don't rush over Beattock like in your clip. That rain looks god awful. I also really enjoyed your 2009 clip of Leander going over this grade!
I hope Lizzie is treated better in November when she tackles this grade in terms of weather. We can only hope.
@Mikelandscaper Many thanks, pleased you enjoyed it. They didn't seem to be working the loco too hard yesterday. There aren't really any other spots at Beattock for video, so it's always interesting to compare the performance of different locos.
As for better weather for Lizzie, one can only hope, but hopefully I'll be there again.
@chiconian49 Thanks Chuck, pleased you liked it. I've tried to get my better half out to hold the brolly on days like that, but she's got more sense !!
well if wasn't for you hardy types, how would we wussies get to appreciate the sights and sounds of our cherished steam icons, plodding their way up the gradients of the WCML, eh, well done Mike, some great footage, very grateful, cheers.
Very nice video despite very bad weather. Thank you very much Mike.

@howarth004 Thanks Dave. Nothing wrong with a bit of rain as long as the camera doesn't get wet and stops working, lol

@rab4472 I can recall Linesider1 going up toward the summit where that 1,014 sign is right along the rail. it hasn't been used in awhile
Is it hard to go in or just outside of Glagow Central to watch trains arriving?
Mikelandscaper 5 months ago
@Mikelandscaper You're quite right, there is a spot near the summit; in fact when locos have been looped I've manged to catch them again
Sorry, but can't answer your question re Glasgow.
