  • Always extremely nice videos, thanks a million. Just a quick question: do you always run your delay pedals ahead of your dirt pedals?

  • Brett...I know you are busy, but how about an update pedalboard video when able?

    Inquiring minds need to know.

    Cheers

  • @SingleCoilVoodoo Yup, coming in February. :)

  • Time for another Burg's board mate!

  • Hardwire chorus, Love mine, great bang for the buck option wise

  • hello sir, what software did you use in to this video? Thanks in advance.

  • @alainkills Pro Tools 9, iMovie, Waves CLA Guitars, Waves L3-16. :)

  • hello sir, what software did you use in to this video? Thanks in advance.

  • What is the grey pedal in the center of the pedalboard I've read the whole description and it's not in. As soon as I know the name I'll buy it you've just sold it to me haha ! And what about your tone. Hell it's fucking good !

  • @gravel22 That's the Subdecay Proteus prototype - first one! The production models are prettier but this one is special to me. Cheers, BK.

  • @Burgerman666 Thank you for the fast response but I've cross all your youtube videos and I finnaly found it ! What a great piece of work ! And you a good bass player !

  • Hey, can you tell me what tune you are playing? As well, cannot seem to get that nice distortion from my DLS...works with my OCD but not the DLS...weird.

  • between Dirty little secret and plexitortion pedals..which do YOU find to be closer to the JCM 800? Also whats that R2D2 pedal you're using? thanks!

  • brug's, i would love to come and see one of your gigs, judging by the effects you use it's got to be great! do you have any bootlegs? or can you tell me pls in brief which bands do you play, which style?

  • @tomiclav There's a Playlist on my channel called 'Burgs of Yore'. It has videos dating back to the late 80's until the present. The best vids are probably the later ones, in particular the recent Max Sessions or Live in Melbourne vids. Unfortunately the pedal board does not get as good a workout as I would like due the styles I have to play as hired gun. It's kind of like owning a Ferrari but not being allowed to gun it for lack of a track.. :)

  • @Burgerman666 niiiiceeee..tnx for the info....u know, with some effects such as envelope filter, fuzzes and delays you've broaden my musical horizonts, shown me all the great sounds that i wasn't very fond of because of my ignorance....and i wanna thank you for that -for teaching us young guitarists (and also musicians) about the whole idea of sound! cheers! and rock on! :)

  • @tomiclav No problemo. Hell, the industry has been good to me so it's nice to be able to give something back. Write whenever you feel like it; I try to answer everything. :) Cheers, BK.

  • Hey man, nice board! How did you mount the fuel tank chameloen to the underside? Please help! Cheers dude

  • @SuperSuperstrat It was a very sophisticated and calculated mixture of ....gaffa tape and cable ties! Does the trick, though.

First, use double strength hook loop Velcro to fix the Chameleon to the bottom of the PT. This will be strong but not strong enough if it's getting thrown around airplane cargo holds like mine does. So you'll need to secure it with a couple of hefty, plastic cable ties. That worked for me. No holes to drill either. :)

  • @Burgerman666 Cheers Man!!! got me some dual lock velcro stuff

Works like a charm, Thanks again!!

  • @NY0unes Thanks! Just mucking about, really. Yeah, the Proteus is cool. If you want a box that does what it does and more, though, have a look at the Quasar DLX. Whoa.

  • Do you have any noise issues with your Fuel Tank Chameleon? Mine is posing some problems.

  • @angrygoldfish Only if it's on the desk right up next to me and I'm using a Tele or Strat. I mean real close - like inches. But most power supplies would be the same when a single coiled guitar is in the equation. Other than that, it's great.

  • Hey man, great demos! Just wondering what led you to run delays before your drives, this seems against common practice but you get very good results this way.

    Cheers,

    Lee.

  • @bigleemac Thanks for the kind words. Actually, the delay is not before the drive, it's last or second last. The physical layout doesn't reflect the signal path, it's more for foot convenience. I think I posted the signal path on the 'description' block of this video.. didn't I? Lol. If I didn't, I will shortly. Cheers. BK

  • @bigleemac Lee, appearances can be misleading. The pedal placement is more for physical convenience. The delay is actually second last in the signal path chain, before the tremolo, which is last. I put the delay on the bottom tier to better access the tap tempo. It comes after all of the drives. Cheers, BK.

  • Sorry the 3-6's in ur user name ?

  • @Jeepjones85 Just a stoopid play on the Beast666 thing. They used to call me Burger because of my surname - Kingman > King > Burger King.. Then, I referred to the Revelation 'Beast' crap and went with Burgerman666 when I started the channel. It was just a silly thing. I've tried to change the username but you can't do that on YouTube. However, it's stuck. And since I'm not in the slightest way religious, I really couldn't give a damn. :)

  • First I want to say awesome vid's man I love all your pedals :) but wats with the 3/

  • hi burgerman just wondering how you connect pedals to your amp ,i.e in the front, in the loop, or both.

  • @kevin11007 Hi Kevin, all pedals went to the front of the amp for this one. Cheers, BK.

  • hi burgerman great demos. just wondering how do you connect pedals to amp, ie in the front, in the loop, or both.

  • Wow I'm impressed. Those delays sounded incredible, especially the prototype....Wonderful playing, an extreme pleasure to the ears my friend, Thank you

  • Hi burgs i was wondering is that a pedaltrain board?

  • @firebirdfivetheband Yep. PT2. :)

  • What's your opinion of the EBS Multicomp (bass compressor) used as a guitar compressor? What's your fav. switch setting for guitar, bicomp or norm? Thanks!

  • @AnderDoUrden My opinion of the EBS couldn't be higher. It's second and almost on par with my favourite compressor, the Wampler Ego Squasher Compressor. I often experiment with its three different settings and don't really have a favourite, they're all great. The one thing that might sway some people is that it's not true bypass. But it has one of the greatest buffers ever which is another reason why I love it. And it's build tough. EBS should remarket it for 6 stringers IMO.

  • @Burgerman666 Thank you very much. I asked you cause I have it (bought it years ago for bass guitar). When I tried it with my guitars I was positively shocked. I don't really care about the truebypass thing. I think true bypass is the last thing I should blame for my "lack of good tone". They were making fun of me when I put in in my pedalboard instead of the AnalogMan mini bicomp. But now that I see it in one of your pedalboards I'm happy (I dearly value your choices). Forgive my english. Ciao!

  • @AnderDoUrden Your English is better than mine! And I'm very flattered that you look to me when making pedal choices. I hope I'm steering you right! Ciao! :)

  • Chairman of the Board

  • Chairman of the Board?

  • You're running the delay before the overdrives right? Can you explain a little bit why you made that choice, that is not so common on boards ? Thanks!!

    PS: great playing, as usual!

  • @soopajeanmi Nope, the delay is second last, before the tremolo. The layout of the board is not relevant to the signal path. It's designed for foot convenience. :) So we have: Tuner, Comp, Proteus, Baby Quasar, Liquid Sunshine, DLS, Plextortion, HW Chorus, Chrono, Semaphore - out. Normally I'd put the trem before the delay but I ran out of the right length cables, heheh. Thanks for the kind words! :)

  • I was wondering about two things; first off what camera do you use and how do you export your videos? I have a Mac as well and I usually just import them into iMovie and slap the same things on as you do. But if you check my acoustic demo on my channel, you can see it doesn't come out very well, not nearly as good as yours. Ideas? Also, if you have a distortion for rhythms and you want to go to solo, do you put an OD before it and then boost your volume, or after it and just set the OD louder?

  • @Botdra It's a Panasonic NVGS120, a couple of years old and pretty tame by today's HD standards. I'm saving up for a new one.

iMovie 09 does all the crunching and exporting. Remember though, that I record the audio with a good mic into Logic, master it, and sync it to the video in iMovie. It's a laborious process but it gets the results (I hope). For lead/rhythm work I'll either ride the guitar's volume knob or use two separate pedals. I rarely stack as I don't like the compression it causes.

  • @Burgerman666 Okay thanks. Yeah the audio isn't the problem it's the video quality. If you saw the video even the font on the ticker got all scribbly. I guess I'm gonna need a better camera. Oh yes, it does provide great results, you don't have to worry about that!! Best sound quality from a pedal demonstrator I've heard on YouTube. In what cases would you stack them? I like the compression but only for solos in a hard rock setting, I just can't get sustain any other way, compressor's too loud.

  • @Botdra I had a look at your clip and I reckon it's pretty good. As good as mine, anyway. :) Light is important. I rely a lot on outside light coming through the windows. The more light the better, generally. The ticker thing is an anomaly: sometimes it renders sharp and other times it renders poorly. I can't work out how to streamline it and a search has proved fruitless. One of those things.. Compression: A big subject. Too big for here, I'm afraid. 'Stick at it' is the quick advice. :)

  • @Burgerman666 Fair enough. :P Thanks for all your help, and remember, keep up those demos or I will burn your house down. WHOA No wait that's not what I said before... that seems rather extreme... Oh oh, keep up the demos PLEASE. Yes, that's the one! Haha thanks again.

  • Whooo...the Proteus and Providence delay did it for this board...remove the Proteus and board #1 will dust this board....that's just my opinion, I like board #1 better! Nonetheless...awesome demo it is...master jedi you are!

  • @DovoodooMiracleman That's cool, thanks. That's exactly the sort of objective opinion I'm looking for, too. So I'll lose the Octavius and T21 from board #1 and replace them with the Proteus (a bit precious though..) and the Chrono, and I'll be set. Excellent. :)

  • great board .. and Playing !! as always.

  • Nice one...Certainly changed a lot since your original board (Posted 22 Nov 2008)..blimey time has flown...

  • @chrispe14uk Heheh. I only put this together yesterday afternoon for fun. I was shooting a video for the other board and thought it would be cool to build another out of pedals that don't get enough use. Man, they'll sure get some more use now!!

  • @chrispe14uk Yeah. I could actually make about 6 boards and not repeat any of the components. I think I'll have a crack at an Eventide/Emma based board next. Or something like that..

  • Hey what kind of pedal cables do you use?

  • @WalrusDoom Providence cables mostly. There's a couple of flat right angled cables in their, too. They were made for me by my friend Mike Gibson (The Gas Station) on most major forums. Hi Mike!

  • Killer board! Looks like tons of fun, Brett!

  • Oh, and DLS FTW! It's the only drive pedal that has always stayed with me. Such a classic and I never get bored of and with it.

  • @DemoColorScheme yeah i bought it recently and that pedal is just AWESOME

great board, Burgs, especially like the DLS and baby quasar! the plextortion also rocks hard

  • @mariahkoko

Well worth the money, isn't it? The DLS is a beauty and already a classic to me.

  • @DemoColorScheme oh yeah, absolutely :) it's amazing how well it sounds in the band situation (and i love just looking at it, i got the red one :) )

  • @mariahkoko

    Absolutely!

I'm still rocking V1 and proud of it, actually! :D

  • @DemoColorScheme This one is a V1, too. :D

  • @Burgerman666

    Yeah, I noticed! ;) We rock/rawk!

  • @DemoColorScheme Cheers, Michel! How's it over there?

  • @Burgerman666

Thanks for asking, Brett! It's going pretty good! Exciting times with the huge rig change. Adding an Axe-FX to my rig, tracking down a Binson EchoRec 2, selling my Jazzmaster to fund a U.S.A. Tele. Big changes, actually.

  • The hardwire really nails that standard chorus sound. I'm impressed.

  • The Plextortion sounds so ZZTop in this video.

  • that providence is insane good!!!

  • @JerichBlakk Yep. That is one helluva delay pedal. It has its own thing going on and it's a very thing. Thanks for watching! :) BK
