Both Hasbro and Tonka were two of the biggest toy companies in the United States during the 1980's. Hasbro came up with the idea FIRST, it's because those BASTARDS at Tonka hit the selves they calmed fan praise. EVEN WITH ALL THAT THE CARTOON SUCKED !

Tonka would be bought out by Hasbro in 1991. This ended the war between Gobots and Transformers.

They already did that in the Dreamwave/ IDW Transformers comics (they are amazing btw) And Cy-Kill always gets terrible murdered by Megatron or ends up with several other GoBots characters in a moltenlava pit by Shockwave

Crappy gobots toys fell apart in your hands, the cartoon was irritating and made Transformers look like Shakespeare by comparison. Worst of all? Hasbro bought out Kenner, which previously bought out Tonka, which released the Go-bots, so now there is essentially no difference between TF's and Go-bots.(unless you're in Japan, in which case the ancestors of the Go-bots, the Machine men, are still going fairly strong.)

Hasbro had filed a trademark for the Transformers before Tonka filed for Gobots. Also, Takara (the japanese company Hasbro teamed up with)released the Diakron before GoBots in the USA in 1983. In America, the Transfomers were animated before the GoBots. The Transformers had an animated cartoon short in the USA advertising the comic book before the GoBots cartoon.
