Brilliant performance. Is this a MIDI organ / controller plugged into a PC soundcard MIDI interface, and then triggering the sounds from a VSTi SID based sequencer plugin?
Blown away. You are the man. I have nothing but credit for anyone playing any instrument, but you're playing C64 tunes on some weird machine that sounds like the C64..... wait a minute.... is this a trick??? :) what's going on here? :) sod it, i don't care; you the man whether it's fake or real. now, have you done the wizball highscore tune or thanatos? :)
@dazanjo All real. Earlier version of the synthesizer is open-source, see v=_uU4BzSQQmY - seen in person by me and built by a few enthusiasts elsewhere. And Linus is known to play piano well.
the shame of this is,...there will be very few people who are 1) OLD enough to know where this comes from too, and 2) who actually ever played this great game along to such a great sound track for its time :) ... cheers to all who know this for what it is ,,,
FUCKING AMAZING man,,, so so well done,..i closed my eyes and was back playing the game,, at 5 am when i should have been sleeping for school :) ... trully,,, very grand setup man ...
You should definitely work on some original music with that thing. With your skills, I'm sure you'll come up with something as awesome, or even better than the classic video game songs and whatnot.
(but I would have thought you'd have used an assembler? Nice job!)
@Snakemast345: Try learning C instead; I never got C++, so instead I learned C, and I just got it(they are similar languages, but the abstraction in C++ pissed me off). Also, switch to a Unix-like operating system, you'll never regret it. Windows is terrible to code in, IMHO.
Dude no pressure but. You gotta get someone to put this stuff together and send it out. What you're doing is awesome, don't have to worry about creating an album, but someone else should take care of it while you focus on the music.
@lftkryo That must have been difficult... I treid learning C++ and could not get the hang of it. I even read extraneous books about it and still failed... I am more of a musician then a programmer...
i'm not sure if you know about this but there's a community called 8bitpeoples. they release free chiptune albums made by various artists all around the world regularly. you should definitely check it out and maybe cover some of the new released stuff too

Whats that noise in the sound? (you can hear it in the beginning.) Is that an dirty powersupply, or a software/hardware bug?
