@lam95uptheowls I know that ffs Are you you a bit dim or what??? This video is from 2009 which had the old and better layout (bridge corner etc) hence my original comment of it being better than the new one with the shitty complex.
@imtheduke no, you said then new silverstone layout is shit so seeing as we are in 2011 i presumed you meant the change they made with the start/finish straight after 2010. plus why are you moaning bout a change that happened 2 years ago?
Hamilton, Vettel and Alonso are the most talented drivers currently in F1 today. Hamilton was 5th in the Championship with a shit car for most of the season. Alonso won the Singapore and Japanese raes in 2008 with a Renault that was their worst car in years, and Vettel won the Italian Grand Prix in a Toro Rosso. Three prime examples why these three are the best in F1, thumbs up if yu agree :)
@TheKingzOfKomedy Dont' forget Vettel being the only person to take a win in 2009 without a double diffuser. I think he won China some 44 seconds ahead of Mark
@raymondu99 - He won china 10 seconds in front of mark and 40 seconds in front of jenson. I think that brawn was still the fastest car at that point but Vettel and Webber were far better drivers in the wet than the 2 brawn drivers were.
@TheKingzOfKomedy hamiltons car wasnt shit, it was the second fastest car. he should be either 3rd or 4th. maybe even second because webber has been inconsistant. im not saying hes bad, because he clearly isnt. he is just inconsistant. he gets a lot of drive throughs and crashes a lot. if he was more consistant, he could be second in the champoinship. vettel is consistant and gets the most out of every corner in an already fast car. thats why he is so dominiant.
hes a good driver. he is very fast. but he isnt a great racer. he doesnt have the ability of alonso, schumacher and hamilton and i would say kubica also. he cant overtake and defend well enough like those drivers. whenever the f1 drivers do karting (equal machinery) schuey wins and vettel is near the bottom, vettel is fast but so is rbr. he has yet to drive through the pack! lets face it, his lower formula racing isnt spectacular. i am a schuey fan, but hamilton and alonso are better than seb
@JamesHol100 Yeah I agree, if he really wants to become a multiple world champion he needs to work on his overtaking skills as well. Both Belgium and Turkey were his fault, he gets just a little to antsy behind the wheel, he needs more patience. Also when he was battling with Sutil in Britain, Vettel nearly took himself out and the Force India. But the good news is that he has time, hes only 23 years old and the youngest F1 Champion.
@VettelFanaticF1 we agree to agree. in all honesty no one can doubt the talent and speed seb has. webber is no slouch but vettel more often than not has 0.1 over him. no one can argue with that really. but a deserving world champion of 2010 i would say (even tho i think alonso deserved it a little more than him). but as you say being on 23, imagine how good he should be when he is 33...
@HabboCT LOL Hamilton above Vettel? I hope you're joking. Vettel started in a second rate car (at best!) and got their first win, then he moved to the Sr. team and made them a championship team. ALL of that younger than Hamilton, and Hamilton STARTED at a top tier team with a world champion to set up his car for him. Give me a break, Vettel is the best in F1 right now without a doubt. I understand if you're British and like Hamilton, but simple facts show that Vettel is a much better driver.
@AftershockedYou You could also look at it like this: Hamilton beat a double world champion in his rookie year - how many of those did Vettel beat? Hamilton has now outscored both Alonso and Button, both world champions - Vettel hasn't had teammates of the same class as Hamilton in my opinion.
@Lolzilol123 Yes, but he has with Sebas Bourdais. Granted he isn't in the league with Alonso, but he was a dominant champion in champ car. And if you remember correctly, as a rookie Vettel totally dominated him, I think Bourdais outqualified him maybe 2 times all season. And Webber isn't a slow driver by any means, he's just terribly inconsistent. Its hard to compare on these terms because its apples to oranges, but for SURE Vettel is the youngest champion, and he had to earn his good car
@AftershockedYou The problem with the Bourdais comparison was that Vettel had actually been in F1 for some time before Bourdais came - the rookie was Bourdais, not Vettel. And Bourdais was thrown out of Toro Rosso, so he's not even worth mentioning as competition, as Vettel also proved :)
I also think Vettel is at least as fast as anyone else in qualifying - you have such a close run in every single qualifying (2010 Red Bull) without both being on the limit. He just hasn't "proved himself" yet.
@AftershockedYou Vettel lucked into his win at Monza in 2008. He didn't get there on pure skill alone, something most Vettel fans want to believe. Bourdais qualified 4th that day, too, which says something about STR's speed that weekend. Only reason Lewis wasn't up there was tyre choice screwing him over in qualifying and the race.
I honestly rate Lewis above Vettel as well, Alonso too. In fact Alonso and Lewis are basically tied for me, but both are better drivers than Vettel to me.
@PJ2436 Bourdais basically ran the Champ Car series for years, and he came up against another F1 rookie (not exactly because of Vettel being at BMW in 2007), but he got OWNED the entire season, out qualifying Vettel 3 times I believe. Sound familiar to the last 3 seasons with Webber? Vettel is perhaps the best qualifier in modern F1, he has 2 seasons with 10+ poles, he's 24, and only him and Ayrton hold that record. Lewis was good, but he's getting worse (can't handle the pressure IMO).
@PJ2436 Haters are going to hate. It's always the car that wins, never the driver. Please, grow up and accept the new era in German domination. You got another 10 years of pain if you don't just come to terms with it now. Vettel is far more charismatic anyways, he's a true champion (humble), unlike Lewis (arrogant prick).
@WillGregScott Lewis had one terrible season, where his mind was simply not where it was supposed to be, otherwise he'd have out up a stern fight with Vettel this year, or at least let the title run a few races further down the line.
I am not a hater, just not ignorant, and able to see the bigger picture ,and not jump to conclusions like Bourdais getting owned by Vettel and Lewis being an arrogant prick.
@PJ2436 You're posting about Vettel not being as good as Hamilton and Alonso on a Vettel replay (therefore you're a hater, by definition). Lewis has progressively gotten worse ever since his 2nd season. He lost by a good margin to Button this year, and most (all but one) of his wrecks were HIS fault. Vettel started as "the crash kid" but has progressively gotten better. Lewis is like Villeneuve, came out the box swinging because of natural talent, but declined very rapidly.
@WillGregScott I replied to a comment, not hating. Lewis has not gotten worse since 2008, what on Earth are you talking about? In 2009, his car was rubbish, and in 2010, he beat Button at almost every corner. This year, like I said, his lack of respect for drivers, and his tendency to get into incidents, as well as his inability to keep his mouth shut, is what caused him to have what has probably been his worst year in his career. He will be back to 100% come 2012, I hope...
Not that many people think like me and you. Brilliant judgement brother. Hamilton & Alonso are the most ruthless on this lineup. Vettel is so likable but has wasted valuable freebies..Massa has a point to prove yet...Schumi should have just staid in the pits and advised on when people should come in for wets (kimi at silverstone anybody?)
I can't sleep..keep having these twitching reflexes about Lewis and Alonso side by side!
"but has wasted valuable freebies" what in the earth does that mean? Hamilton and Alonso had the chance to prove themselves when driving the best cars on the grid. Vettel, won a race with Toro Rosso, a far lesser car, in the worst conditions possible! I believe he is at least as good or event better than them.
@LeontariF1 Vettel is better than Alonso and far better than Hamilton. Vettel is a classic wet condition driver and it's usually the best technical driver who excel in wet condition, like Ayrton Senna. Vettel won races with crappy car and he would have won all the 3 opening races in 2010, if it weren't for the unreliable car of RBR. Vettel is going to shine.
@randominitializer Never read so much bullshit, but ok.everyone has an opinion.
Classic Wet condition driver???...you definiately saw montreal.Im a Alonso-Fan but i think the best wet driver is Lews hamilton. What about Alonso 2006 Ungarn.Overtake the field like Ayrton senna.
@randominitializer I couldn't help but notice that you called Vettel "the classic wet condition driver" and got 27 thumbs up. I'm wondering if you're prepared to retract that statement after the 2011 season. Vettel made a mistake in wet conditions in Canada, Button won; Vettel made a mistake in wet conditions in Hungary, Button won; Vettel crashed his car in wet conditions during FP1 in Turkey.
@randominitializer No. He fluked 1 race victory in a car that was a lot less crappy than people want to beleive. Vettel is the latest example of a great driver in the greatest car. I rate Alonso and Hamilton higher than Vettel, to be honest. Hamilton runs rings around Vettel in wet conditions. Vettel has won 2 races in wet conditions, and those were both from pole, not necessarily brilliant drives. Lewis has had great drives and brilliant pace in the wet.
@PJ2436 Other than that one win in 2008, he regularly performed well, taking enough points to end up eighth in the championship in his first full season. He's had brilliant pace in the wet too, and I certainly wouldn't say Hamilton "runs rings" around him.
@ocsif111 Vettel has the best car so he already proves his talent when he is always in pole position and it was not always easy poles... i cant wait to see him starting at the 5th place for example and then people will see how his talent is big.
@randominitializer Hamilton is the best driver in the wet, in my opinion. Look at Hungary 2011. Vettel was hounded by both McLarens up to him going off on lap 5, which made Lewis go past, and Jenson almost did too. I think Lewis is a better example of a modern day Senna, not just because of him actually being a McLaren driver.
@jort999 - There were a number of occasions in 2009 when Rosberg could have been on the podium, but the car let him down. He could have come second in Singapore if he hadn't crossed the pit line.
In 2009 he deserved podiums, but now he is with another team. He has talent enough, but in 2009 he also had talent enough, and didn't get a podium. The same could be happening in 2010.
2010 could be the most exciting season for many years! 5 new teams, a new point system, Cosworth again supplying engines, no fuelstops, Schumacher and De La Rosa returning, 6 new drivers (so far) and even the new Korean GP!
Im already itching for that first training at Bahrain...
vettel is only good when there is nobody near him and he car just drive the track, he cant overtake and only wins from the from row. he is very overrated.
2010 title between Vettel & Massa? I'm a fan of both drivers, but Massa couldn't win the 08 title even with numerous points gifted to him by the FIA, and Vettel, despite having the most balanced and the quickest car on the grid for the 2nd half of the 09 season, (and despite numerous opportunities) couldn't topple Button.
I think the title will be between Hamilton & Alonso, with Massa, Button, Vettel & Schumi challenging
like btw how come jenson button didnt win a world champion and he has been in f1 like 9 years i think and people would say cuz he had a good car will kimi was in the ferrari and still won the spa that tells u have exp.
Bullshit! You must be on drugs if you are comparing Vettel to Senna. The fact that he had one of the quickest, and the most balanced car on the grid yet he still couldn't win the title speaks volumes.
He's a great qualifier and has bags of raw pace, but was often matched in the races by Webber.
If Hamilton, Kimi or Alonso had that car they would have dominated the championship.
when did you start watching formula 1?? Kimi sucks. vettel is ok. Alonso and LEWIS HAMILTON are the best in the field today in formula 1. You didn't mention lewis.
@andriusssska My opinion: Kimi, Vettel, Hamilton and then Rosberg. Rosberg is a very quick driver. If he gets a good and a fast car then he is one of the best drivers.
@ohargreaves I could bet you a billion dollors that Vettel would not be that good if he would be in a worse car. 90% of a Vicory in Formula 1 these days is because you have a very good / the best car and the rest 10% is because you have a great driver. Like Kobayashi would maybe even do better then Vettel if he would perhaps replace mark. You might think that i´m talking bullshit right now but in my opinion, drivers are "less important" in a race. Thank you
@TheV12ferrari I can actually see where you're coming from with regards to the car mattering a lot, but in a midfield car, Vettel did shine in 2007 and 2008. Kobayashi being able to beat Vettel in the Red Bull isn't any more than speculation. All we have at the moment is that Vettel is leading the championship, and Kobayashi is doing a very good job at Sauber against his teammates.

Vettel definately can beat the shit out of his cars and go blindingly quick. at 26 sec it looks like he was almost gonna go sideways

Who is that lone female at red bull? Anybody hav name?
jraybay 2 years ago
Hamilton is better than Alonso he proved that.
But i am looking forward to next season when he is against Jenson.
I think we are going to see what a great driver and worthy champion Jenson really is.
I think Vettle is probably a better driver than them both and i would not say he is a new Scumacher more like a new Ayrton in my opinion.

@gurujpf66 Felipe is not in the higher rank of f1 drivers. The best of the best are Hamilton, Alonso, Kubica and Raikkonen

@andriusssska No
Best driver: Hamilton, Alonso, Kubica :)
maciejas512 8 months ago
@andriusssska My opinion: Kimi, Vettel, Hamilton and then Rosberg. Rosberg is a very quick driver. If he gets a good and a fast car then he is one of the best drivers.

@ohargreaves I never laugh at cheaters
TheV12ferrari 5 months ago
@TheV12ferrari So now you're claiming that he cheats? Based on what? Actual evidence, or simply because someone is beating your favourite team?
ohargreaves 5 months ago
@ohargreaves I could bet you a billion dollors that Vettel would not be that good if he would be in a worse car. 90% of a Vicory in Formula 1 these days is because you have a very good / the best car and the rest 10% is because you have a great driver. Like Kobayashi would maybe even do better then Vettel if he would perhaps replace mark. You might think that i´m talking bullshit right now but in my opinion, drivers are "less important" in a race. Thank you
TheV12ferrari 5 months ago
@TheV12ferrari I can actually see where you're coming from with regards to the car mattering a lot, but in a midfield car, Vettel did shine in 2007 and 2008. Kobayashi being able to beat Vettel in the Red Bull isn't any more than speculation. All we have at the moment is that Vettel is leading the championship, and Kobayashi is doing a very good job at Sauber against his teammates.
