The UFC is a baby sport. Meaning that it´s still in it´s early years. People and mobsters like Dana White are taking advantage of it´s infancy, knowing that the sport hasn´t established any regulating rules. They´re milking the cow as much as they can while they can. As a fan I can't complain about the fights the UFC presents to us. They are doing an incredible job in that respect. We always get ideal fights and that's how it should be. I imagine if I was an elite fighter, I have very little reason to be scared of Dana White. Would he actually cut someone like Anderson Silva for protesting? Maybe he would but Silva is already a star and has made decent money. He could stop fighting today and still be a happy man. The UFC however would lose a major star.

The UFC is a baby sport. Meaning that it´s still in it´s early years. People and mobsters like Dana White are taking advantage of it´s infancy, knowing that the sport hasn´t established any regulating rules. They´re milking the cow as much as they can while they can. Even the worst even this year which was 250k buys x$50 (if they didn't get HD just minimum) generated over 12.5 mil. Lorenzo says fighters are making at least 50% of the event proceeds & UFC keep in mind makes money from it's own sponsors while paying for all advertising out of pocket. They need to be able to recover that money to promote future events.

UFC undercard tv fighter>6000$ to fight 6000$ to win=12,000$+5000$ give or take sponsorship money(which undercard ESPN boxers don't get) which could be another couple thousand dollars on top of that or even more which makes earnings 17,000$ + a potential 65,000$ extra for a ko/sub/fotn bonus= a total possible potential earnings of 147,000$ if you get sub/fotn bonus or ko/fotn bonus or earnings of 82,000$ if only one bonus is attained, so all and all a lot better than ESPN's boxers 275$ to show!

As a fan I can't complain about the fights the UFC presents to us. They are doing an incredible job in that respect. We always get ideal fights and that's how it should be. I imagine if I was an elite fighter, I have very little reason to be scared of Dana White. Would he actually cut someone like Anderson Silva for protesting? Maybe he would but Silva is already a star and has made decent money. He could stop fighting today and still be a happy man. The UFC however would lose a major star.
