  • "I prefer laughter preferable to tears"

    -John Cage

  • Damn ! I was there ! and indeed we laugh, i would merely add that we were greatly encouraged by this giant artist able to experiment, play, while never taking himself too seriously (why serious ? because some people tag him as "avant-garde" or something ???)

Well, in short that performance was a pure joy as almost all of them @ "LE DUNOIS", what an incredible place !

  • It's beuty full!

  • Fred Frith played in a band called Henry Cow and worked with Samla Mammas Manna, a band known for being ultra-silly. A little laughter is well encouraged.

  • You can't be a snob about avant garde music, you have to see the humor in it, or else you come off as a pretentious artier than thou type.

Great performance by Fred, I'd say laughter is a better reaction than boos.

  • Very wise... I really took that to heart.

  • the conponent of humor is legitimate in music...

  • whats wrong with having a laugh while watching extremely radical free improv meets folkish tunes???

  • obvioulsy the audience had no sense for this fine piece of art. thanks for sharing this video.

  • I wonder if Fred found it as funny as the audience did.

  • Nice, thanks for this funny gem!
