Expecting uniformity in players, and demanding they stand in similar ways is a bit frivolous as well as detrimental. Some people might strain their hands and tendons over time by trying to maintain a certain posture when playing that they are not really comfortable with.
y do u use super fast vibrato? i personally like it slow especially on low notes. it sounds more relaxing and better. but i guess that's just me on my trpt. haha. but u should try it. :) but still an awesome player!
Nina, you truly are a gifted musician. Your music is so beautiful. I love it. Your videos will be a part of my daily activities. This is music for the soul. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. This, I believe is the most inspiring music I have ever heard. Please keep posting your videos.
Nina, I am really happy for you and your new flute.
I have, though, some questions. Id like to know why so many flutists prefer inline G and not the offset model, which is really more friendly, specially with an open hole model. Is there a sound argument that justifies the inline G key? Does this come from sheer purism? People eager to get direct descendents of the legendary Louis Lot flutes?
I would really appreciate if you could write some lines about this subject.
it really is just a matter of preference, and there is no acoustical difference between the two. Mechanically, the offset G offers an easier adjustment because the G key is on a separate mechanism then the rest of the flute keys.
Dear Nina, decided after 50 years studying flute, ok.
The reason is that with great joy to a very clothes that you are present, opinion is that everything is possible, perhaps one day to see her play, or even in a workshop in Brazil would be that time of life we lead us.
You shine as a person, this is a gift, thanks for being on youtube and now in my day to day.

Nina, I have listened to so many of your performances and they are all fabulous, but this is simply outstanding. The passion, the shading, the nuances, EVERYTHING - outstanding.
This IS real music. And it is exhilarating. Thank you not only for sharing your musical gifts, but for being yourself. Keep up your wonderful work!
What does it matter how she stands? Close your eyes and listen to this piece. She plays like an angel and you critique her posture? You are right, you are in no place to criticize such a talented person. Just listen to the music for what it is.....BEAUTIFUL.
i know that you can stand tons of different ways and still play beautifully. i've been playing coming on 11 years with private lessons all of those years, the last 5 with college professors. i've been taught to stand up straight simply because it's prettier (and there are benefits with breathing, but you can learn to breath just as well in other positions. it really just is. yes, nina is a beautiful player to *listen* to but i like *watching* players that stand beautifully as well.
and when i said that i'm in no place to criticize her, i meant 2 things. (1) constructive criticism, not the rude kind, (2) not that i didn't know anything, but that she's more advanced than me and technically can play however she wants, no one's in charge of her.
I play flute as well. I had been doing it for some time but had to put off playing for a while to start and run a business. Christmas of 2008, my wife bought me a new flute and it inspired me to start playing again. I try to practice at least an hour a day. Love the sound of the flute and I agree with you about Nina being a beautiful player. Good luck with your playing. Thanks for your comment. Be well and play often.

It's best to play as it feels comfortable to you!

dear poleame: acually, I think the trend now is to play off-set G (which is what I play).
