I have done a lot of searching for Arthur Godfrey's theme song without any luck. There is about 4 seconds of it at the end of this clip. Does anyone know where I can hear the entire theme song as it was presented on Godfrey's show?
George Bryan is filling in for Arthur's regular announcer, Tony Marvin. And this is a 10:30-10:45am(et) segment as Arthur, even though he had a daily 90 minute radio show [10-11:30am(et)], began the simulcast of the TV version at 10:30, continuing through 11:30am. Keep in mind he's still doing a "radio show" (with his headphones on), and some stretches of his daily show weren't "visual"- especially when he went off on a tangent and started talking....
This is actually a 15 minute segment from Godfrey's 90 minute daytime show, "ARTHUR GODFREY TIME" (simulcast on TV and radio), from July 1955. Each of his 15 minute segments had different sponsors, THAT'S how successful he was (in this case, it's General Motors' Frigidaire division). Not all of Arthur's quarter-hours featured performances by his cast; sometimes, it was just him "rambling" about one subject or another- yet people listened because they liked his personality.
I found this to be extremely BORING. I don't know why this man was so popular.
The pace was so damned SLOW I had trouble following what he was talking about.
Is this just ME? Have I been jaded by modern media? Or am I correct?

The best thing to come from Arthur Godfrey is Patsy Cline!

Is there any chance anyone has the clip of Patsy Cline's winning performance on "Talent Scouts" Jan. 21, 1957?

1955, and his show couldn't be more slow and boring.
