iPhone Problem with WiFi

Idk if anyone can help me but im going to ask anyway.

so i got this iphone 3g and its in good condition. I dont have no sim in it and im using it as an ipod. But it wont connect to wifi. Ive dont everything ive read and nothing works. I put it right next to my router and it wont show up. Its Really frustrating. Someone please help me

Only one thing to do really.. i had the same problem with my Ipod touch (32gb 3rd gen), i followed the instructions on the apple webpage, but it dident help.

If i was you, i would check the spot at the end of the jack port. there's a little piece of paper'ish material. if its white, you go down to the apple store where you bought it and get it repaired, (It should be free), and if its Pink, its been waterdamaged and you have to pay for the repair..

If you did all to fix it with no luck-if your iphone still under warranty Apple will give you

a NEW UNIT . They gave me a new one due to wifi hardware failure.

i just bought myself an iphone 3gs and it has no problem connecting to my home wireless connection but there's no internet

however on connecting on other wireless hot spots internet works perfectly

so im guessing i may have some network gaps between my router and iphone

i tried changing the settings a milion times but nothing seems to work

does anyone know what should i do? please reply

the same thing has just happend to me and i still have not figured it out. i bought it from a friend and he did the hole restart it to default settings but know it will not work, the exact same thing that happend to the guy in the video. :( if some one can help me please.

@abdalmarouf grr this is bs cuz what you said (Thx much it helps greatly) works but then it happens again after awhile and then i keep having to add the password again. but yea it works is there anyway to make it so that it stops messing up completely?

I have a similar problem..mine was unlocked/jailbroken and updated to 3.0 (pretty sure) and the wifi worked fine for a couple of days then stopped working at all anywhere. It's driving me nuts!

I restored everything to factory settings today but that was stupid of me cause that didn't fix anything either! Now I can't unlock my phone again without wifi. =/

I tried resetting my network settings so many times too!

If anyone could help, man I would owe them!

i have this same problem. Mine is jailbroken with 3.1.2 black rain. i reset the network settings-didnt work. Hard and soft reseting it-didnt work. help! oh and restoring doesnt help either

many people who upgraded their iphones to os 3.0 are experiencing problems with their wifi connections....me too actually....is that a coincidence? imaybe it wont happen right in the same day as u did the upgrade to os 3.0 maybe it will...the fact is that it can happen after 1-2-3 weeks after the upgrade to os 3.0...apple seems to know about this and is currently making the new update that will hopefully solve this shitty prob

go in to settings, and then general, then go to restore and select network, all your networks things will be gone but wifi will be working..

You might wanna check if you have your DATA Roaming off because if it is then you wont connect.

Not true just do a restore if you jailbroke it. Theres no way of telling if you jailbroke it or not after that.

settings>general>reset>reset network settings

the issue is that your device has lost its "wifi address"...and resetting network settings will reestablish this.

to check go to:  settings>general>about

then scroll down to "wifi address" this should now be a populated field.

your baseband might be screwed. run bbupdater and install a new copy. but if your wifi is completly gone, then your gonna have to install an update i have thats beta. let me know if u nned help. itll update your baseband then just downgrade back to 1.1.4 or 3.

I have the samme damm problem, wifi greyed out sometimes, sometimes works but flakey, phone resets all the time, also when phone is asleep it does not ring, I wake it up and it says I have missed calls...Damm Junk...I have a hacked phone though what will they say about that? Also when I checked warranty status on Apple web site it said phone has never been activated. I am an AT&T customer but never activated the phone through Itunes to avoid 2 year contract...Can someone tell me how to porceed?

go to an appe store and they will replace it for free. this happend to my phone too wifi was grayed out and i wasent recieving calls but, when it wasent grayed out, and i tried to connect to my home network it would reset all the time. apple gave me a brand new phone free of charge and it works great!!!

Hi im in the UK and i have the exact same problem with my iPhone i bought earlier 2day and wifi worked perfectly! then soon after the service provider (02) had activated me to be able to call and use edge etc, it doesnt let me do anything to the wifi like ur screen: its just greyed out i cant click it! anyone who reads this id really appreciate an answer to this problem...thanx alot

this sort of happened to me where it would only stay on edge but it found my network and i tappe don it and it had a check mark by it but the icon still said edge all i had to do was connect to another connection and now it works fine

Go back to the apple store and get it replaced, i've got the same problem only I don't live in the us. Wi-fi fails @ the iPhone comm board (propably your battery drains fast)
