Does anyone know if the intro was played by Joe Satriani? I remember reading on the cover that he was involved with the production of (at least some of) the album... and that definitely sounds like his style (and not much like any other possessed solos I've ever heard).
@sleepingevenbetter I think Larry was probably also taking lessons from Joe. Joe taught a whole bunch of people. I agree, though...lot's of Joe in those guitar solos whether it's him or Larry. :)
Anyone remember a free Combat/Camelot metal compilation you got back in the day when you bought one of their tapes? There was this one I got that had Confessions, Zombie Ritual, The Skull Beneath the Skin, Goblin's Blade, Technocracy,...um... a VoiVod song, Celtic Frost....it was an absolutely amazing intro to bands I was soon to worship, way back in the day.
Possessed was the first to make me say OMG... this intro makes me tear up remembering the first time I heard it at 15.
Finally I found it! I was 15 when i heard this shit for the first time, I feel the fire from within returning once again, Thanks for posting it. Think i will fuck with some cops for kicks like the good old day's when I didn't give a fuck. The storm that's in my mind!!!
This sounds killer don't get me wrong, cuz it's Possessed, but I think a heavier distortion would make it better. The current gain's a bit too weak and doesn't give the riffs their due.
i remember listening to this whilst i was 12/13 years old. little did i know lalonde would grow out of this music and create something so 'far out' as primus.
music would be so much worse off if he had'nt bothered to pick up a guitar.
@Petasucksballs91367 make the most of your life now mate, never wish for anyone else's life, if you cant find the music you desire, get your friends together and make your own. good luck mate, you could be the next possessd, who knows?
I first listened to this song in the cover Sinister made some time ago and I loved it. I just heard the original Possessed song and it's great also! The main difference (not th only) to me are the vocals, but both vocalist are awesome!
Yes, Joe Satriani produced this album, he was also a big influence on LaLonde's guitar style on this album. That is why there was such a big difference from Death Metal to Eyes of Horror
message = you dont have to be fast to be superior brutality. learn this todays shit bands. and fuck BEHEMOTH, YOU SAID POSESSED IS MUNDANE MUSIC, FUCK YOU YOU POLISH BAG OF SHIT. POSSESSED WAS DOING DEATH METAL WHEN YOU WERE STILL A PISS-POT
