Finally go to tain . totalcodex . net for tons of maps and extras, including high res landscape textures, even all the Myth 1 maps. Get this game if you don't got it....

Sometimes it's the little things... Like that bar along the top, that gives you the Lore, the biography of the unit and the names of your men - really helps with the immersion!

I also have, and this is where I am REALLY loyal, the Green Berets game that was made using the Myth II engine, and is "Myth style gaming in Vietnam"!!! :)

@uglypinkmoose No, it is called Green Berets,it was released by Take 2, and is a total conversion of Myth II. The game came with a copy of Myth II which you had to install first!

Also, you might want to know, a total conversion of Medieval II Total War Kingdoms called "Myth Total War". There is a trailer on You Tube and is looking pretty damn good!

That is the oddest review I have ever heard. It is so funny how someone says a game is great while talking with the passion of an undead bookkeeper. The frequent swearing adds to the hilarity. Myth sounds like fun though, hope they make a worthy remake.

@htews they can't make a remake, bungie sold the rights (thank, MSoft!) and the buyers (take2) dropped the series entirely. The only way it's maintained now is through it's 50-person playerbase, who seems to do a good job releasing updates. They still have small tournaments, but outside it's very small cult following the game practically doesn't exist. Take2 did make a sequal, but it did not meet the expectations of Myth 2, and that's probably why they dropped the series.

i think the new patch from project magma fixed everything specially in multiplayermode... and @ uglypinkmoose... project magma is the biggest myth community of today... they are still creating patches and they got a plan to create myth 4 as a community project ;)

I tried going online (mariusnet), but there are 20 players tops and they all know one another, and when I played several games with them and didn't do my best (since I didn't know maps/gametypes/buying units), they all started shunning me (for example, they would leave/cancel games where I would enter). I didn't grief or anything, those players are just 'noob-unfriendly'. And I thought they would be happy to see new players around.

Now you got me thinking :) It could have been a mod but now that I think about it I got a special pack that included all the Myth's in one box and that included a disk with the Vietnam version on it. The Vietnam one was hard! Vietcong everywhere! You only had 4-5 guys. The leader 2 M16, A M60 and a sniper. Fun as heck though.

There is another game out that is kind of like this one although its not as funny called Warhammer Battle march. Same idea as Myth with using the troops you have and try to stay alive. I have it for the XBOX 360. These Myths your describing I thought were tough even for an experienced gamer. I agree that online co-op is the best in order to play this game.

I'm not sure why it got bad ratings, probably because its tougher than the usual RTS where you build houses and pop out people etc. I really like Warhammer Battle March. You can play online and you have three campaigns to beat. There are five races of creatures you can be Chaos, Empire, High Elves, Dark Elves, Skaven, and Orcs & Goblins. I like the story line, campaign and you can create you own army which you can make quickly.

There is friendly fire in Warhammer Battle March especially when you have cannons which are awesome. People fly up in the air and get splattered everywhere. Be careful your not hitting your own troops. :) You can even choose what part of the storyline you want to pursue in certain parts. THe XBOX 360 controls are very simple which is why I like it.

Myth ROCKS!!!! Wicked good game. not because of the reasons you listed at first but because of the real-time strategy, tactics, commanding army, sooo awesome. It's all the fun stuff. None of the "Mining minerals BS crap". I LOVE Myth. One of best computer gamers ever!!! The co-op can seem slow, but the multiplayer is all action compared to games where you have to resource manage. You can have a great time and complete an online game in 5 minutes or 20 minutes or however long you want. That is part of the beauty of it.
