Its easy to paint monsters but it takes 6 hours to fill 'em with colors and makeing em look good. Im going to publish my paintings to my profile and im only 12. Also my litle sister who is only 10 years old can paint better than me.
A baby is a more difficult subject, than a adult because often the features are not as defined as in an adult, but it is well done here. Something about it reminds me of some of the artists I like, such as Lucian Freud. Baby has sort of an iconicness, how it solidly occupies the space and is not wishy washy or anything like that, and the profound cranial dome, and attention the subject is given (even though it's from a photograph) but still, way better that the average baby painting I think.
i just uploaded a video of an oil painting that took me 5 months to finish.
i would like to get some feedback on it. so if everyone that reads this could check it out and let me know what you think it would help me out! the video is called -- monumental oil painting- from start to finish. thanks everyone!
amazing painting mate. i like the idea of doing a detailed drawing first cuz i normally just mark out the proportions with red paint first and get myself in a mess lol
I actually liked the drawing better than the painting. I think when you do such a detailed drawing there might be a tendencies to just fill in the space. . The background is harsh and doesn't compliment the painting of the baby. The background is part of the painting and should be given the proper attention.

@Jumpinflashjack But sometimes the background can be made plain in order to focus more of you attention to the actual image being the baby

I do the same...just paint. But I think you did a great job on capturing the happiness of the child.
