For Jewelry Making it really does not matter. Even a 7.2 volt drill is ok, but I recommend a larger one so that it is useful around the house too.

lol, I waited and waited to see the chain you were going to make, which by the way I think is the sweetest thing ever, that you make a chain for your wife every christmas, but still haven't seen it.
