  • Schwartz another jewish guy who never skated running his mouth about cash. No team in Hamilton and the rest of the country is laughing about it. Jets had a team and lost it during the recession in the 90's. They will sell out every games. Another Ontario idiot who's clueless about hockey

  • What is this guy talking about.. Buddy ur so wrong I'm guessing a huge city like Atlanta didn't have enough support, itll for sure not work in a 700 000 Winnipeg city??(I kno bad management for thrashers but o well, what's done is done). The difference is what u said dude..PASSION. Tix sold 2 min, highest prices, absolutely crazy fan support for jets (duh) but other teams aswell. Stop hating, move out ur parents home, get off the comp n get a life..

    *shakes head*

Jets wont Ever die, even the

  • Winnipeg is a shithole, long as the natives infest it business wont thrive. The Jets will go under.

  • Secondly, we're not like Los Angeles. Dean Lombardi had a concrete plan. Waddell didn't. He failed because of it. We did what we could to support the team but it doesn't help when management doesn't and hockey ops aren't given the tools and players to build a winner.

  • LOL THIS GUY MUST HAVE ATE HIS HAT. when tickets sold out in under 2 minutes lol. Do some more research buddy the arena is not to small, winnipeg is not broke, and would like you to know that manitoba is the fastest growing province in Canada right now. Winnipeg drove the growth of hockey. the waiting list, is 3 years long, that you are paying 50 bucks a year just to be on, think about it buddy you say that passion doesnt pay hockey players. Two words, Maple leafs. 1 year 1964 thats passion

  • @CanadianCid Anybody can do that in their first season. Give them 5-10 years.

  • I agree with this guy. Whinnee peg jets sucks!!!!

  • @MrTAFSIYNOT Mark Chipman lobbied for years for a team. Gary finally gave in.

  • GOOF

  • passion creates dollars! guess who got jets gear for christmas??? everyone in winnipeg !!!

  • your an idiot

  • your in no place to judge any business move, you clearly havent moved off your ass since you were born, which is why your on your computer trolling away because your sad about your failed life.

  • Winnipeg has sold out more games than Phoenix and Atlanta combined

  • @Zachthekingsfan Thats a negative. Until we all hear facts and not assumptions

  • @Cton88 Phoenix and Atlanta only sellout 1 or 2 games per year and when they do/did it was against Vancouver when there are WAY more fans of the away team than the home team

  • @Zachthekingsfan You have no idea what you're talking about. I lived in Atlanta all 26 year of my life and 11 included the Thrashers, so I know how many. Second, even when the away team came with more fans, we still beat them. Last year, Detroit, we beat them 5-1 last year with more fans of course, barely lost in shootout to the Hawks which was a sellout, Penguins 4-2 for #3, Devils 7-1 win and a sellout, beat the Bruins in a 3-2 shootout with a sellout, Rangers shootout loss with a sellout.

  • @Cton88 How the team plays shouldn't be the reason to keep a team in its city. Toronto hasn't won a Stanley Cup since 1967, they still sellout home games. Edmonton has been in last place since the Stanley Cup Final in 2006 and still had fans come to sellout the arena. L.A. has never won a Stanley Cup in its franchise history yet right now they have 23 games sold out so far.

  • I am sorry you are completely wrong because its working on one thing alone and thats the "PASSION" this province not the city but the province as a whole has for this wonderful game! And one other thing GO JETS GO!!! I am a huge leafs fan and went to the new years eve game until you are there you cant say anything about this place not being able to support a team.

  • so what were u saying lol, your a fuckn clown hahahahah just look @ it in half way threw the season. too poor eh too poor to sell out in 20 mins. hahahah fuckn joke u r !

  • so if we will fail y did we just win 6 1 what do u say about that

  • Ticket there will not be a problem when it comes to the money cause people will want to go to the games , now when this guy talks about teams in the southern Ontario area he is on crack (sorry for sounding rude ) just trying to knock some comen sense into this topic , and when you look at where the Leafs and Sabers and wings are at you would be so and i mean so stupid to put a team there . Thank you for reading and have a nice day :) .

  • @mazdaman1982 How do the wings suck, they finished 7th, and made it to game 7 in the 2nd round, how does that suck? Compare that to Edmonton or Colorado who finished dead last.

  • @mazdaman1982 Winnipeg has one of the smallest populations in North America to draw from. The Greater Toronto Area is the 6th largest metropolitan city on the continent whose only professional hockey team has fans pass seasons tickets along in wills when a holder dies. Are you seriously trying to lecture me on common sense? Try spelling it right first.

  • @Hockey54FOTG ya but we got one problem Toronto dont have a hockey team lol they havent maid the playoffs for how many years hmmm ya of course they would give tickets away like nothing cause they dont have a team that is so funny .

  • @mazdaman1982 Do you even understand the English language?

  • @Hockey54FOTG i can see you dont

  • @Hockey54FOTG I'm a montreal fan, but I know for a fact that Winnipeg will be fine, they already sold out there tickets, and they are doing fine so far!

But once again, I can understand some of it won't work, but they look good!

  • @Hockey54FOTG Just thought I'd let you know, Quebec City is getting a team next, Gary Bettman Kisses Brian Burke's and Terrence Pegula's asses, no one will support the leafs if a new team came, The Sabres maybe, but the leafs, probably not, If it went to Quebec City it wouldn't effect any teams because the Battle of Quebec would start again. If a team moved to the GTA or Hamilton, no one would support the Leafs.

  • @Hockey54FOTG Personally I'd like to see a new team in the GTA, but Bettman will do anything in his power to not move a team there.

  • @Hockey54FOTG I'd actually like to see a team in Quebec City, and the GTA, Move Phoenix to Quebec, and Florida to Toronto or with in the Golden Horseshoe.

  • @Hockey54FOTG Instead of Canada having 7 teams, we could have 9 teams.

  • @Hockey54FOTG 500,000 people watched the 1st jets game.

  • hmmmmmm lets see what is this 5 months later and now the ticket prices are out and the prices is very and i mean very affordable , this guy has no and i mean no clue on what he talks about , and this guy is talking about a city that sold 13,000 tickets in less then 3 min and if you include the processing time witch is 17 mins its not to bad , and when you look at 13,000 witch the MTS Center can hold up to 15,000 witch mind you is small but if you look at how it pushes the demand for a NHL

  • Douche

  • Wow this guy hasn't done his research! Tickets prices comparable to other teams in Canada. Jets are first team to ask fans for up to 5 year commitment. And the bums from Winnipeg emptied their wallets and Tickets sold within 15 secs. Sure this video was released before you had the right information, but if you were thinking with your head, you would have taken this video down cause dude, so far you are wrong, wrong, and well, you've been caught with your "Schwartz" down. Mahahaha.

  • Not sure if you can read .. but Winnipeg and Manitoba has been among the strongest economies in North America in terms of economic growth in the past 10 years. Far out pacing Ontario and Quebec. Not sure where you have been, but it is obvious you know very little of which you talk about. Small mind.. big mouth. There are a millions of others just like you out there..Want-a-be expert. Sorry, but you should read some facts before you embarrass yourself in the future.

  • As soon as I heard "salutations" I knew this guy was a faggot

  • your a fuckin loser

  • Good Grief, How can anyone this stupid, even walk and talk

  • Winnipeg isnt poor, sold out football team, sold out baseball team, sold out jets team. Please, youve been in Winnipeg? When 1990's? IGNORANCE.

  • they see me trolling....

  • Way to look at it! Damn your a smart kid, wouldnt be suprised if you cured cancer. Shut up kid. Go outside or get a girlfriend instead of talking to your webcam thinking we care.

  • @GearsSNIPER31 he stuck his neck out and got it chopped off, way to kill your self worth, have a nice life, whats left of it!!!!!

  • @EpicMealTimePEGJETS Selling out in the 1st season back but they have the same players as ATL so the team will fail then withing the next couple years no one will come to the games anymore and since the PEG has no money then Ontario gets another team or Quebec City gets a team!

  • @Kesler17Snipe Oh you're a well educated man I can see. I'm sure you pay attention to Economies around the world. Here's a tip. Don't use statistics from a long time ago, because they might be outdated. Winnipeg will suck in the 1st season, and the second season, and the 3rd season, I won't doubt that. I educated The Schwartz already so I'll sum it up for you.

  • @Kesler17Snipe 1. There are more millionaires who will support the team + many middle class got together and bought season tickets and have shared tickets. 2. The economy in Winnipeg is better. 3. We have rich owners. 4. The average Winnipeg family brings home 70,000 a year after taxes. How does that make us a poor city? 5. The population grows at 10,000 a year, better than some cities in Canada. In 5 years winnipeg will have a bigger population than Quebec.

  • @Kesler17Snipe Quebec City and Winnipeg will both have teams long term. Same with a team in the GTA.

  • @Kesler17Snipe Bigger population than Quebec City*

  • this little child deserve a slap like you hate on the team and like you hating on winnipeg cause of native that why fucking american fagget

  • Ah yes, I suppose painful amounts of ignorance isn't just doomed to Americans...

  • FUCK YOU BUDY THE JETS ARE BACK WE ARE NOT POOR WE HAVE SOLD 13,000 SEASON TICKETS IN 15 MINS FUCK YOU

  • you know you're cool when you begin with "salutations" ya shitcock

  • this guy does not know sh!t

  • I'd Say Winnipeg is a great place for an NHL team, idk where you get off saying Winnipeg is poor, but you may be using experiences from 5 years ago.

  • 15 Years ago we didn't have The Owners either, The Metropolitan Area of Winnipeg was something like 680,000 people and a Stagnant Population, the Population now is 762,000 people and a Population growth of about 10,000 people a year, Sure, thats nothing compared to Calgary's 48,000 people a year, or Toronto's 92,000 a year, but its better than Hamilton's 6,500 a year or Quebec City's 8,200 a year, Also many Magazines have Winnipeg as one of the Best places for jobs in Canada.

  • Winnipeg Isn't poor, I've done tonnes of window shopping around the City, in Tuxedo there is tonnes of Mansions, East and West St Paul all have nice houses in them, the New Developments sell like crazy in Winnipeg. There's the Support for the Team, as for the Owners its Mark Chipman and David Thompson(the richest man in Canada) The reason the Jets left 15 years ago was because We didn't have as many millionaires as we did now. The Metropolitan Area is 762,000 people, I'm sure we''l do just fine.

  • But you certainly have brought up some valid points. I hope they can pull it off this time around, much like everyone else. Btw, anyone ever say that you sort of resemble Christian Bale? lol

  • I guess it really comes down to "only time will tell". Is there some serious risks and some hurdles to jump? Absolutely! But I for one feel a little more secure with the thought of the team being able to survive this time around. They have owners with deep enough pockets, they have a new and up to date venue, and there isn't really too much else to compete with NHL hockey in terms of entertainment value in the Peg. The situation isn't 100% perfect, but its got some good pieces to start with.

  • you have a point man. hamilton should have gotten a team long before winnipeg did. winnipeg is an unkempt shithole.

  • @chubill121 Look up "Child Poverty Capital of Canada" and Manitoba is the winner by a large margin.

I guess the kids can't sell enough lemonade?

I couldn't pay rent and afford meth by living in Toronto. As for the hair, I prefer a comb, and no, this was not a good hair day.

  • @Hockey54FOTG Listen, you can't judge a book by its cover, you obviously have not been to Winnipeg, and your wife is spoon feeding you 10 year old statistics. There are more Millionaires in Winnipeg than there was when your wife lived there. Also just because you read it on the Internet doesn't mean its entirely true. I live near a Housing project and not one person in there lives in poverty, not one person who went to my school lives in poverty.

  • @Hockey54FOTG by the way, What does Child Poverty have to do with Winnipeg not being able to afford a team?

  • @Hockey54FOTG sorry for comming across like a dick but i just watched a video for a thrashers fan ripping winnipeg be4 i posted that so...

  • @TheDigiDestined16 No apology necessary. You were far more polite than 99% of the people who replied to me thus far.

And my comment about creativity was genuine.

    Cheers.

  • @Hockey54FOTG Honestly man i have tops in school in english but when you type a comment on youtube or somewhere else who really gives a shit about grammar. U type the quickest you can. Getting on SOME1 CUZ theyre grammar is sad and U do it CUZ U have nothing to come back with.

  • @TheDigiDestined16 I appreciate your point. In regards to my replies, I actually have three videos on this subject so I don't really feel the need to address every post here. Most are negative, and filled with vitriol, so no matter what I say, it won't make a difference.

    U do get pointz 4 cre8tivitee.

  • they said the jets would never return, and they did, they said we wouldn't sell 13,000 tickets, and we did (in like 20 mins) any now there saying were not going to make it?? challenge accepted, can't wait till the cup is paraded in the streets of Winnipeg!

    GO JETS GO!!!

  • @tourzaman I actually want to thank you for this comment. You don't seem to have taken my comments as a personal jab. If anyone here thinks I have a hate on for Winnipeg, or that I don't want them to succeed, you are mistaken. I should be allowed to be skeptical without being called every word in the book. That said, it's expected, as it comes with the territory of having an opinion such as this.

Go Jets? Maybe not - I am a Habs fan after all. Happy Canada has another team? Who isn't?

  • @Hockey54FOTG Yeah, there is nothing wrong with being skeptical, but the whole way you spoke through this whole video and your other 3 videos, you don't understand the Millionaire presence here in Winnipeg is bigger than it was 15 years ago, New developments sell up the ass here, and most of them sell for around 400,000 to about 2 million, and all the homes are sold, you can't buy new developments here because its too hard because they sell like hotcakes in Winnipeg.

  • @tourzaman The Jets will make it to the Stanley Cup, just not anytime soon, in 5 years they will be Playoff contenders I'm sure of it.

  • There's no money in Winnipeg.... is this guy on crack?

  • You really have no idea about hockey or business please stop talking everything was wrong in that video

  • Winnipeg is not poor. Have you heard of a place called East St. Paul? its right at the Winnipeg perimeter highway and thousands of rich people live there enough rich people to fill the building. And even if our building is small we would sell out every game which is is more than a couple U.S. franchises

  • Awww, you poor whiny little Southern Ontario PUNK!

Swallow your bitter pills like a good little boy and SHUT UP!!

Sorry Schwartzy; but you have no credibility

    ....and even less for knowledge!

  • why are you talking?

  • It should be against the law to talk out of your ass.

  • Might as well delete this video!

  • fuck you peice of shit. jets will fly forever you fucker. eat shit.

  • Kitchener, Waterloo, lol.. this is what sunk you in this video if nothing else did. Did you really believe they were getting a team?? you should remove this video before anyone else sees it and further embarasses you. Everything you said has proven to be wrong and the Jets are back for the long run. Go flap your tongue somewhere not in public so you don't totally ruin your name, bud

  • i hope you've learned an important life lesson from this: hold your tongue. you were brave (but also foolish) to post this video, with your face all over it- you've tarnished your reputation rather quickly here. Winnipeg is back - do you think you're the only person who has considered the negatives? You think True North Sports/Entertainment and the NHL hasn't already weighed the pros vs cons? You're more interested in flapping your tongue and being all righteous other than making real sense.

  • Dude you are an EPIC FAIL! Get a life! You have no clue what you are talking about

  • this guy is a fucking dumbass this is the best city in canada in my opinion we are a great hockey city and we have one of the richest men in canada

  • What a fucking waste of skin you are. I deserve a good ass kicking for listening to the entire clip. You said you have been to Winnipeg before? Please, I beg you, please come back one more time. There's a beautiful alley I'm just dying to show you.

  • MTS Centre SOLD OUT for years to come with w/ a waiting list and w/ the 3rd highest ticket prices in what....2mins. Press boxes gone like the wind. 248,000 people attempted to get ST. Sorry dude, seems like their might be something floating in your warm salty glass of hateraid. Better luck next year when you try to shit on Quebec, Scrub! ....GO JETS GO!

  • LMAO GO JETS GO GO JETS GO. PS you talk like a douche lol, and obviously you have no idea what youre talking about because we in winnipeg HAVE a team now and the ticket prices are cheaper than half of the cities in canada SUCK JETS DICK LOL! HHAHAHAHAH GO JETS GO

  • Too bad this guy is a stereotypical representive of TO.

  • ...nice life...

  • most millionaires per capita in Canada... WINNIPEG

  • This is bull. Dude, why do you hate Winnipeg, you mad because we sold out 13000 season tickets in 2 minutes?

  • Jets fans: I feel your pain over this guy's opinion (one that I firmly disagree with), but the inability of half of you to put down more than 3 words without grossly misspelling something is just astounding.

  • I love all the talking points about the MTS being too small. Tampa Bay (you know, that franchise all the southerners call the model southern team) only makes about $20 million in ticket revenues despite having over 17,000 seats. Winnipeg will make between $45 and 50 million every year for at least the next 3 years. Plus, with the way the USD keeps drowning with our deficit, Canada will never have to worry about a .60 exchange rate

  • haha how stupid do you feel now!! don't fuck with Winnipeg

  • Idiot . Jets r gonna be awesome in the 2011-2012 season

  • fucking moron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow your dumb...

  • @Vertone31 Wow....YOU'RE good with grammar. I find it funny that people have called me dumb/retarded, but basic grammar is beyond their reach.

  • @Hockey54FOTG I appologize for incorrectly spelling you're on a youtube video :/. Maybe do some research and learn about our city before talking shit about it (avoiding the insults dished back at you). Winnipeg is a great city that will support the NHL to no end.

  • ahahaha idiot

  • REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETARD

  • This guys a fucking prick

  • and frankly, guess what else does not really matter, ...your opinion.

    fool

  • The ignorance from this guy is astounding.

  • @lovelylass13 dont worrie about it this guy is sniffing the same stuff the people are sniffing in the ATL area lol

  • The Jets will not fail at all, totally and entirely different ball game now.

  • @mrceebees14 So your saying they will win? like a cup lets say? LOL. wow. don't think so.

  • @funkybunny9966 Where did you get that idea from? I said they will not fail as in leave again. The factors that played into them leaving Winnipeg are entirely different and in their favor this time around. A MUCH stronger Canadian dollar, a bigger arena with luxury boxes. The fans were always there, win or lose, so selling tickets will not be a problem. The only problem is sponsers, they need big name sponsers and they need them now.

  • @mrceebees14 Nie save there.

  • @funkybunny9966 I am just telling the truth. This hockey team could bring in those huge sponsers, especially if the team becomes good, the profits could be huge. The MTS center also needs about another 3,000 seats added, wondering if they would consider digging out the floor to add or add width wise, would be interesting to see.

I wish them luck, I really am happy to see justice done for their fans. But their fans have to be a bit more respectful to Atlanta, they have been downright mean.

  • @mrceebees14 Yea ok then. keep dreaming on all levels. This team will flounder unless they dump all the old "jets' concepts and Moose "idiots". otherwise same old hat.

  • @funkybunny9966 I don't have to dream, if you think the economics are not favorable...big time....towards Winnipeg then what they were in 1995, then sorry, but you are a fool.

  • @mrceebees14 Yes of course I am. You keep dreaming up your reasoning. Once again your thinking with your heart not your head. Typical Winnipegger.

  • @funkybunny9966 I am not a Winnipegger you idiot, I am an American from a major American city. My heart put up economic stats that are true? That is a pretty smart heart.

Take your own advice, use your head, Winnipeg is in a much more stable position then they were in 1995 economically. Do some research kid, you look stupid right now.

  • @mrceebees14 Well as always am american puts himself in the shitter by opening his/her mouth and speaking about something they have no idea about.I never argued anything about the stability of Winnipeg, your the one who started yapping in the first place, yes you know all about h the MTS Center huh.I love ppl like you though, you come on here and think everyone looks stupid because they wont agree or won't go along with what you say,no one really cares what you think.now yap back, life may change!?

  • @funkybunny9966 Actually, I am not American. I can keep stringing you around all night long moron, just to show how stupid and simple minded you are.

Christ, you are an abortion that lived.

  • @mrceebees14 Ah ok then, let me know how that works out for ya!!

  • @funkybunny9966 Worked out great, you took the bait every time and made yourself look like a fool in the process.

You have just enough brain power to drive a flea mobile around the inside of a Cheerio.

  • @mrceebees14 Righto.

  • @mrceebees14 You wasted your breath on this guy. You went past his reading comprehension with "Cheerio," and likely overall intelligence too, as this is the mental midget who swears frequently and posts idiotic videos on his profile about why the Jets shouldn't fly. A highly uneducated opinion that is made even more hilarious by the fact that he IS a Winnipeg. This man is a piss stain of a human life, not even worth a thoughtful (well, maybe witty ;]) rebuttal.

  • @funkybunny9966 If I said they were going to win a cup, I would've said it, but I didn't so that should answer your question.

  • What a loser!!

  • Lol the utter arrogance that goes along with your stupidity is almost laughable. It looks to me as if others have pointed out the flaws in this video and since I wont waste my time re-highlighting them for you I'm just going laugh and say: Welcome Home Jets.

  • How does it feel to be so wrong? The third highest ticket prices in the league sold out in 17 minutes, and there's an 8000 waiting list for pairs of tickets. I hope you will now stop expressing your opinion, but idiots like you never learn.

  • Dude Winnipeg has come a long way and the Thrashers are now going to be in Winnipeg

  • Winnipeg has sold out the 13,000 season tickets in just a few hours of opening to the public, with a cap of 8,000 left on the waiting list. This means sellouts for the next 3-5 years

  • @NearCry Dude! it's 94% corporate. That leave 6% of ppl like you and me. What does that tell you?

  • so is that why we sold out 8000 season tickets in 10 minutes??? yeah........ Thats what I thought

  • Looks like all the season tickets sold out within 15 minutes, hmmm.

  • @antosia 2 minutes, actually.

  • I also love the "arena is too small" argument. Bettman doesn't believe this. The prices are high without large giveaways. A full MTS Centre will generate more profit than most NHL teams, because all the tickets are legitimate prices. No 5$ seats in The Peg. Winnipeg also has the highest population growth rate of any Canadian city with a population below 1 million. You are incredibly ignorant and made yourself look like a complete idiot.

  • Hahahahaha you are way outta your element, obviously. Poor? NHL average ticket = around $50. Winnipeg's average ticket price = $82. They have sold out ALL of the P1's and just about all the P2's (most expensive seats in MTS centre). They have sold over 7000 season tickets JUST through Moose season ticket holder presales. True North has sold over half of their season tickets before they have even been available to the general public. Did I mention that they are all 3-5 year commitments too?

  • They're back, deal with it.

  • Let me say this ..... SHUT UP !!!! idiot !

The Ture North owns the MTS center and all of its rights , does more business then any other venue in North America. The Nhl team does not hinge on these people making money !! Thompson is in the top 10 of wealth as reported by Forbes !!1 Canada western bank is in Chipmans back pocket !! Give your head a shake and watch as this succeeds on all levels !!!! May the Schwartz be gone !!!!

  • Your opinion is poorly researched and being proven wrong with each passing day as season tickets sell in Winnipeg by the thousands, even before they've been put on sale to the general public. These season tickets come with multi-year commitments from the purchasers. Just because you visited Winnipeg and deemed it "too poor" to support an NHL franchise doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. Your advice to David Thomson is laughable. Stop posting videos.

  • ROFL been anounced only a few days they get the team back and already they have 90% of thare seats sold for 4 years to season ticket holders lol. Winnipeg is hockey crazy tronto fans suck lol they could never suport 2 teams . the richest guy in canada dose not through money away lol he makes it winniped geting a team back is WIN !!!!!!

  • Yeah cause the 25th richest man in the WORLD is a complete fuckhead and has no idea and you do right?!?!?!?!?

  • And who is this guy. Some nerd in his basement telling winnipegers they cant have a team while top TSN annalists say that a deal is imminent.

  • And as far as money is concerned, the team is going to be backed by the Thompson family which are the richest family in Canada with full ownership rights. This will instantly make them one of the strongest teams in the league. Ass

  • first of all ur an idiot and dont know anything about winnipeg.u have been here once so u know everything about it . stunned. when the rest of the canada and the united states where in there hardest times a few years ago manitoba was still thriving. you should start using ur head and not make videos

  • Your wife is a Jets fan? ... there goes your sex life.

  • i'm guessing this douche is from toronto...clueless, wow.

  • who the fuck is this guy?

  • umm fail?, you mean like the atlanta flames failed back in 1980?, This is simply a case of history repeating itself, perhaps this time around the umm wealthy city of atlanta will learn it's it's lesson and stick to baseball and football and leave hockey where the fans are, and you should keep your head out of your ass, douche

  • @Maundrell72 Actually the Braves get little fan support lol.

  • Douche......... winnipeg poor??????? if you ever give out your address i bet you there will be a lot of winnipeggers will pay to come over there and kick your ass

  • if Green bay can get an NFL team(Packers) which is a city about 5 times smaller than Winnipeg and Buffalo a city about three times smaller than Winnipeg that has both a NFL team(Bills) and NHL team(Sabers) then Winnipeg sure as hell can have a NHL team. Both those cities are doing just fine with there teams and are poorer cites than Winnipeg, also people from Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario will come to games to support

  • @delicious533 Just to let you know, the NFL has a revenue sharing model. The NFL's TV contract is also worth more than the entire NHL. That's why The Packers and Bills can compete. That and tickets are waaay cheaper. They get TV blackouts if they don;t fill the stadiums after all. Your comparison holds no water.

  • I agree with your argument on the economic front and the troubles winnipeg has had in the past, but i would much rather see a canadian team with passionate fans struggle then see any american team struggle, financially that is.

  • You wanna talk realistic? The Toronto argument make no sense. You have 4 top level teams in the city with the Raptors, Leafs, Jays and F.C, and they're all owned (except for the Jays) by a single entity. Studies on moving an N.H.L. team here predict that just to get the team started in an area locked down by the Maple Leafs and all their legal documentation, you would have to invest easily a BILLION dollars. Winnipeg? The arena's ready, the economy is top notch, and the owners are there...

  • Winnipeg is a hockey wasteland, I know, I used to live close to Winnipeg so I know about the Tobans and the Jets. The Jets were millions of dollars in debt, the fans were complaining about high ticket prices and the people with big money in Manitoba knew that investing any money in the Jets would be useless. The tobans with money, spend more money at the cottage than they would the Jets. When the team came up for sale, the only ones who came up with any money to buy them was from the US.

  • None of these statements matter! It is not our business to tell other people what and where to invest their money? We would have to assume that immensely successful people willing to invest millions of dollars are doing so because they have done enough homework to justify such an investment.

  • @hectorniemeth Why everyone is debating if it’s a good idea or not to bring a team to Winnipeg is ridicules. Our only job in Winnipeg if and when a team is brought back is to get off our cheap asses, and we are cheap! Ever been to a Wallmart in Winnipeg? And get out spend money and support the people who believed in us enough to put up with all this crap and bring a team home.

  • i cant wait to see your video after the yotes lose their next game and the move to Peg is confirmed

  • wow you are dumb. 2 things there is now a salary cap and look at the canadian dollar, it will succeed and succeed for a long time.

  • Many of you will claim I am ignorant, but I prefer to think I look at the whole picture. Stats can be used in any way that will benefit any argument. Explain how in 2010, Manitoba has maintained it's position as the child poverty capital of Canada? Ticket price averages can be skewed because Florida can't even give away $20 tickets. I have made my points, and my research says different. There are scientists out there who still think smoking isn't all that bad...

  • @Hockey54FOTG Because they have the North End and is possibly the largest Native reservation in Canada inside one city that brings the value down. The expansion of suburbia is growing here. Natives make Winnipeg the murder capital, and they bleed our tax dollars to be the scum of society. Its the truth. But yes, Winnipeg can afford a hockey team. Season tickets sold out quick at 13,000 with a huge waiting list.

  • I'm glad your idiocy was revealed at the start of the beginning so I don't have to waste my time watching all of it. Now, to lay into all of your claims:

    Average household income:

    2010: $72,000 (Canadian average $70,500)

    Unemployment rate:

2010: 4.9% (Canadian average 8.1%) (best in Canada)

    Personal disposable income per capita:

    2010: $29,900

    NHL Average ticket prices:

    2010: $49

Everything you've said in this video is 100% false, thanks for showing your ignorance.

  • @0TitanThor0 SO WAIT! Did you watch the video or not!?LOL sorry thats just amusing, read the first and last sentence of your post. Haha ignorance IS funny. And Winnipeg is no place for an NHL team. Small rink.Cheap people. And players (including free agents) that won't and don't want to be there.Atlanta is the 8th biggest tv market. With good ownership a team can absolutely work in Atlanta.Look that the falcons and the braves. When the team has success people show up, true even with the Thrashers

  • Let me explain the MTS Centre bit to you folks. The Mosse sell out because ticket prices are friendly. A top tier seat is well under $50. That will more than double with an NHL team in a building that only houses 15,000 n' change. League minimum standard is 14,000. So do the math. The MTS, while being world class, has to inflate ticket prices due to capacity reasons. In Montreal, a building with 20,000+, top ticks are over $200!

  • I agree, your ranting is not backed up with any type of facts. I'll meet you in the back alley of the MTS Centre and I'll sell you a couple of tickets to any of the sold out games.

P.S. Have you ever been to any of the Manitoba Moose Games? They are bleepin' loud. Second highest attendance in the AHL.

Our heart for the game will make easy to financially support the new NHL team - "Winnipeg Rush" P.S.S. Have you ever been in the brand-new-arena in Winnipeg? It's world class.

  • Winnipeg's not in bad shape like it was when the jets left. The economy is actually ranked 3rd in Canada in terms of growth, so the term 'poor' really doesn't apply here. Its no Toronto or Vancouver, but I don't think you're giving them a fair chance on this issue.

  • Winnipeg is expanding quickly these days. We have one of the countries largest museums currently under construction, a brand new football stadium on the way, the inner city areas are being cleaned up with new buildings and businesses, I guarantee the MTS centre will sell out every game, and an NHL team brought back here will probably increase the population pretty drastically. Ticket sales ARE going to be expensive, and is the only problem with this. However I think with my heart, and will pay..

  • poor - HA

arena, GB likes it, i value his opinion more

    CBC, i dunno but

poor-azz city, get your head out of the 90's - please.

look up rick mercer: you're TRONTARTED

  • Thanks buddy...Another typical arrogant Torontonian....Keep blindly supporting your Leafs, sucking while they make MLSE rich...Blind idiot...You're the type that makes evreyone in the West think you're all a bunch of assholes.
