  • AWRIGHT MIKE

  • over 1billion of those -_-

  • They've held a mirror up to "The English" and nailed it! If you can't laugh at yourself, then give up and keep your mouth shut. It's just full of absolutely classic lines. Love it :)

  • i miss this programme!

  • absolutely hilarious...anyone how thinks this is racist is part of the pc brigade and part of what is wrong with the country!

classic jab! "whats the blandest thing on the menu??"

  • Im white, and find this funny, Its only lighthearted banter, innocent stereotyping, not enough of this on TV.

  • Im English from Birmingham, indians and english would find this very funny, massive irony and thats the point.....sanjeev and crew are fabulously funny and hugely influential

  • He forgot the Prawn Cocktail..

  • I'm the person who put this up... Ppl it's all in the name of love & laughter... Spread love not hate...

  • @mindi084 well done mate, well said

  • lol, I'm white and I have an Indian girlfriend and we both find this hilarious, some people need to grow up! XD

  • @TheSuperboy360 what are you?

  • @TheSuperboy360 You fucking roadside scumbag!!!

  • Is this the same character who did the Kumar's at Number 42?

  • @repconklc

    Yep same team!

  • legendary scene.. with a fork and knife

  • Oh my dayz i rememba web this used to come on i dunno how asians can get offended lol

  • "Going for an English" Ha!

  • Oh my god, people aren't complaining about this surely. I have asian friends who've been called paki and all sorts just walking down the street and we have dickheads in the 98% majority complaining that this is picking on them. Fuck me!

  • "What's the blandest thing on the menu?" :-) Brilliant.

My grandad was from England, and Sunday dinner was overcooked beef, turnips, carrots, and potatoes. No pepper, salt was the most exotic spice in the house, and you had to ask for it. Thanks.

  • The reaction to this is incredibly ironic. This is how chavs act.

Heck, even on Britain's Got Talent the judges completely took the piss out of that French guy.

  • its not racist -__- its how black ppl use steroetypes and make comedy, asain ppl use their sterotypes and make comedy caucasians etc etc. its not racist

  • Brilliant. can i have 10 ... 12 bread rolls. INDIA. what a program.

  • @rossF187 ...its british...

  • ae JEM-ASS what have u got totally tasteless...... EPIC line

  • LOL this is hilarious specially tht lad in the green shirt

  • haha tanked up on lassi's

  • Jaahhmes

  • to all those who don't get it - this is a humorous take on how the Brits are said to act when they go out to have an Indian meal.

  • Brrrread Rrrrolls LMAO!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • C'mon fellas don't take offense to this. Its a sketch, it shows how shallow society can really be sometimes. But then again you just gotta laugh at the sketch and perhaps learn from it instead of being angry all the time ya know

  • Guys and girls... those who responded in a racist way need to get an education.. i remember when this came out when i was 14 years old and i got the parody / comedy... all in the name of comedy!!!

  • can you add captions to this plz

  • AND BRING A FORK AND KNIFE. LOLOLOLLLL

  • could someone explain everything? i don't get it at all.

  • @macmelmorgan Like a lot of humour, this sketch depends on the audience knowing the culture. If you've never heard of Brits "going for an Indian", then you are not going to understand what's happening here.

  • @macmelmorgan it's a parody of stereotypical english people in an indian restaurant

  • What's with the guy in the lime-green shirt?

  • Alright mite! HAHA!

  • Steak and Kidley Peeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Very funny but I actually like both scampi & prawn cocktail.

Although that is a spot-on parody, I would like/hope to think that is a reflection on the past, not present.

Admittedly, nowadays I am older & thus early doors, thus I don't witness the after-hours behaviour of the lager louts.

  • Bring a forking knife LOL

  • I've seen this sketch about a hundred times and I still can't work out when I've ever had peas halved served with anything, let alone as a standard gammon side order lol

  • @Googlystube Maybe one of the jokes is that "English" food served in India is as phony as "Indian" food served in England. Or like Pizza Hut vs real Italian pizza. Ever tried American-style food (like fried chicken) in Japan? LOL

  • @VentrueCapital aha! split peas = Indian side order

    (it makes sense now)

  • this is one of the best sketches ever, its works on so many levels

  • Who has never seen a scene like this in real life? English lagar louts = Indian Lassi louts. Things all cultures have in common, louts XD

  • this scene must be one of the all time comedy classics, it works on so many levels.....A Masterpiece

  • Jhaams! O twadi this is still hilarious...

  • bleh stupid bbc took off the air because apparently its racist to asians, im asian and i just think it funny lol ;)

  • One of the funniest, most original sketches EVER

  • I don't feel this deserves the recognition it needs, simply because the recognition could go on forever. This scene is brilliant in a number of ways.

In a nutshell, it reverses the cultures but captures the scenario almost right to the bone, that's not easy to do when cultural differences affect your cognition. Masterpeice.

  • JAMZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

  • OMG I've only see a few of these having only just discovered them. Hilarious. This is brilliant. By the way, we here in the US have comedy not unlike the British food.

  • ahahahahaha this is so real... and i'm a ginger so ahahahahahaha

  • Ha ha ha HO HO HO he he he can't stop laughing.....

  • Some people here are either inherently racist or have had sense of humour bypasses on the NHS. This was groundbreaking and refreshing at the time and even today you regularly get the idiots who think being English gives them a licence to be tw@ts toward the long suffering staff of Indian, Bengali and other such establishments. Long live satire and CURRY!!!

  • @rittertitter64h one of girls in your family has, most likely been shagged by one

  • Honestly. Is this how indians behave at english resturants? This lot obviously dont have a clue about british food. Just because our food isnt spicy , doesnt make it tasteless.

  • @mitzi7416

    Gawd.

  • @mitzi7416 it's a joke.

  • @mitzi7416 you're a little bit lost there mate, it's called satire

they're emphasising how British people behave in Indian restaurants by subverting and exaggerating their actions

  • @mitzi7416 No it's not, it's called "comedy" and they're parodying how British people often behave at Indian restaurants on Friday nights, which is wholly accurate.

  • @mitzi7416 chill.. it is fairly bland, nobody else in the world seems to have adopted it...

  • @mitzi7416 Seriously - if you guys have a low IQ, you should really ask around first before replying and making a fool of yourself. As others have already stated: this is satire: they are making fun of how white British folks act in Indian restaurants through role-reversal.

  • im performing on stage with the indian guy at 00:24 ;)

  • cheque please

  • I am a India but this was our old generation but I think we are not too bad now

  • @1NETID The four main protagonists are performing satire which was very very particular and relevant to those of us British Indians growing up in 90s Britain. It's a role-reversal scenario, for which this show was markedly famous. And it makes my tummy ache with laughter even now. So enjoy it!

  • I wish they would make another series

  • Oi Jay mas. Jams. Lol. Hahahahaha

  • (insert your fave part here here)

    lollollolollollollollollollol

  • soo funni

  • let's go for an English

  • "Jamess what's the blandest thing on the menu?" :D

"I'll have what he's having.... AND a prawn cocktail" Brilliant.

  • "alright mate"

  • whose the white guy as the waiter?? lool

  • @BryanBobBrown That's because you live in the United States. DO NOT watch British comedy and expect to understand it, you have been raised on crappy, shallow, meaningless comedy.

  • LOL this is hilarious its our inspiration for our video ,EVERYONE GO ON MY CHANNEL AND WATCH HARPREET AND MUMMY JI ,TRUST ME YOU GUYS WILL LAUGH IF YOU LIKE THIS :D XXX THANKYOUU

  • Bloody hilarious!

  • I love this only Indian understand it the most hahhaa

  • yup which is why i find it hilarious =)

  • LMFAOOO

  • Obviously this sketch is hilarious but it also works on a much deeper level.

As a white person you're watching this going, "Uh oh. Wait a minute, they KNOW what we do! They know about the horrible things we get up to at these places!!!" XD

This is comedy at its very best. Holding up a mirror to society like this. I wish I could have played the white guy in this, it's a great part. This'll go down in comedy history.

  • IrishJV, hey, I know what you mean. I find this soooo funny, partly because i cringe with embarrassment thinking of how I've sometimes behaved in restaurants!

  • Agreed 100%

  • haha dis shws gr8

  • this is so funny

  • FYI, I am not white.

and keep your fists for your bumhole. aight?

  • not aight,

your words were still unjust, distasteful and wrong,

the color of your skin dosen't matter to me

  • and yes!

as many people pointed out here,

the sketch is targeting the way "civilised" caucasian people in London behave in Indian restaurants.

I've seen it myself few times

you missed the point widely "mate"! :)))

  • alroight mate! lol

  • haha you wouldn't get this sort of thing on the tv now. would be banned before it's even scripted.

  • lol

you obviously didn't understand that this sketch is taking the piss out of how white people act in indian resteraunts :P

  • @pinkster212

    Hallo good old swine!

It just so happens that I come from Krakow, which is not far from Auschvitz

My grandmother nearly ended there because people who think like you invaded our country.

And I'm Polish I won't even mention millions of Jews who died because of people who had similar opinions to yours

Make yourself known and I'm ready to go to Canada to explain to you with my own fists why you are WRONG

    you small minded caucasian worm.

You bring shame to white race!

    All right?

  • This video mainly shows how white people stereotype the indians so its a reverse version

  • Thanks for pointing that out.

  • some poor sod in my class is called james and everyone calls him jamez
