@lonelykatana I have to admit after having flow Grob 115e's as well as gliders that I consider Gliding to a little bit trickier. I know there are loads more switches in a Powered aircraft but in a glider you have to consider distance and time flying in relation to the airfield, lift and thermals, where they are, how strong they are etc. There is so much more to think about whilst in the air because you have no engine. With an engine you have no need for thermals or need to worry about distance.
@lonelykatana considering that I have lived on RAF bases conducting airshows all my life and still do and that I have seen it happen it does happen....I completely agree that it is both dangerous and illegal....but it does happen. Just because it is not allowed doesn't stop them from doing it. Which is why a lot of pilots recieve more than a few stern words about their flying.
I thought the Typhoon's fly by wire avionics was supposed to prevent this sort of thing, to stop the pilot from flying into the ground. Then again, maybe it did cut in and saved both pilot and aircraft. Just seemed to work very late I thought!
oh what the pilot delibratly did this i dont think so the pilot went below 500ft ATC had to call of eurofighter display to dangerous to fly particuly in front of thousands of people pilot error he did a twiddle role to low just nailing the runway around about 25ft which is very low
*Sigh* guys, guys, am i the ONLY one who actually knows what they're talking about here? ...Clearly he didn't re-route the flux capacitor system properly which forced him into a pozidrive override routine, thus causing a blackout in the computers nervous system...
Mace - the pozidrive override routine is an effective recovery - in THIS situation. If he was suffering an overflabulated oblation of the port traction loop, it would have had the opposite effect.
that was a perfect maneuver. It is part of the display. Its also obvious it was controlled cause of the way he came in : Slow and steady. Watch again and ull see.
The pilot was left shaken after the flight. Had it been any other aircraft it would have hit the ground. He was also told to land as he broke the 500 foot height rule and was hauled before the flight safety committee
@themelodramaticclam A lame plane & name Eurofagger fits its perfectly +yo is a Eurodweeber & Eurodorker + how about Euromuthafucka? Cockpit is jammed + this plane is for Euromidgets. Its under powered with a lame computer + its aint got a clue when it comes to stealth + stands out like a sore thumb. No gattling guns,no J-DAM + its look like a bunch of stupid Eurotards designed it. A Russian Mig-15 would make short work of this flying piece of shit with two wings!
@LottoWinner999, Wow, alot about being gay in your comment. My professional opinion would be that you are accusing other people and things as being gay in order to hide your own blatant homosexuality. Now piss off, and cry in a corner because of your shame for being a cockmuncher and a shirtlifter.
I know that pilot. He drinks down my local and he`s a proper wanker. He loves throwing bar stools about when there are familys around.Always doing stupid stuff.
He ment to do this???????? You fools! There is no way that anyone would risk 1. A multi million pound aircraft for hot dogging 2.the lifes of the croud. 3.the life of a highly traind R.A.F piolt. This eurofighter deffinatly had skid marks in the seat after it landed!...
he ment to do this.. he wasnt even that close to the ground. if you watch closely, he controlled his decent perfectly so he would get as close to the ground as possible, safely.
Wrong!!!!!! if 1 computer fails then the aircraft would just fall out of the sky because they are designed to be aerodynamically unstable. Anyway there are backup computers!!!!
@smilingvulcan that was part of the display and i know because of the sunderland airshow that it appears at sometimes, there is no limit to how low it can go, its goes less then 500 ft here and also does that maneuvere above water just not as low as he does in this video as he dont want to drown a multi million pound jet the sea
It was a close-call or a near-miss, you say. But I would say that this was one of a hell good trained PILOT!!

@smilingvulcan aircraft are often flown below 500 feet at shows....

How is this a near miss? I've seen countless pilots do this maneuver on purpose, lol.
Over water tends to look cooler.

This is anything but perfect. It's too close to the ground. The pilot should feel lucky he didn't crash.

Its the normal Manouverability of a Typhoon...
This was showen so often its not really spectacular.
A german pilot was banned from a english airshow cause he doing that manouver, its easyer than ride my bicycle.
