  • I actually don't like foundation much. I have MAC's Face & Body & like it because it's light & water based, but it's not a perfect match. I'm in Nevada & it's so dry powders just don't look right on me here. I actually went 2 the mall 2 get Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer to use instead of my MAC MSF Natural, but stopped by Chanel 1st for lipgloss. The artist tried the PL on me. It felt & light & matched me perfectly. I'll see how I like it over continued use. Thanks again & have a great day.

  • @marshabranch i hope it works out long term for you, its a great foundation and looks so natural! as natural as foundation can look that is!

  • @crystalis007 - Thanks bella. P.S. Love your videos.

  • Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. While I am a Chanel fragrance junkie, I am new to the makeup. I've only ever used their mascara, but purchased the foundation, translucent powder, foundation brush and a couple of their lip glosses today. I was saying your Ambre looked really dark in the bottle, but I realized after posting my comment that there are different shades of Ambre. Mine is Ambre 94. Thanks again. I REALLY love this foundation. I think I am going to have to divorce MAC lol.

  • @marshabranch i was ready to divorce mac foundation before pro longwear and the matchmaster came out. all the liquid foundations they made broke me out!

  • Hi there, I got one today and then came to YouTube to check out the reviews. Kind of backward, I know lol. The lady matched me with Ambre as well. Would you mind if I ask what color your color match is/was in the MAC studio line? I was NC45 to NC50, depending on the season.

  • @marshabranch i use the mac pro longwear in nc50.

  • what are you in studio fix

  • Thanx for the review

  • When I went to get matched I was told I was a 7.5 like you as well. But it needed up looking ashy. I don't know if its the camera, but it shows up like you have a white cast.

  • @NJatTheDisco i love it, my best match ever in a foundation looks exactly like my skin. everything looks different on camera than it does in real life, especially if you have a ton of light on you for taping a video.

  • I love ur vids!!! keep them comin!!

  • eww bad weave.

  • @TheBSMF its not a weave sherlock....

  • Great review

  • you have beautiful skin!!!

  • If you're able to can you do a post of all your foundation brand equivalences? Thanks.

  • Another good foundation I've used is the Dior Skin Nude

  • Does your perfection lumiere break you out ?

  • @aespina955 nope neither broke me out.

  • which one do you like better mathcmaster or pro-longwear? and is the mathcmaster a long wear foundation?

  • @taloveme they both last the same on me. the difference that i can tell between them is that pro-longwear gives me more coverage, i need less concealer with pro longwear. so if you like a thicker/more coverage foundation then pro longwear might be a better fit. if not the matchmaster might be the one for you. matchmaster is still medium coverage but its a lighter consistency.

  • Great, informative review! I've tested the Chanel Perfection Lumiere because Pro Lumiere is no longer available. I, also, got color matched but I wasn't quite sold on the match. Your video is very helpful!

  • @beautybijouxfashion Thank you for watching:)

  • have u tried the beautyblender with foundations yet? if so pls tell what u think

  • @tylerdeja i really like the beautyblender. i did a review of it on my blog, its good for really making foundation look more natural.

  • Thanks for this video! You're a doll. I just picked up both of these as well, and will probably do a comparison video once I review the Perfection Lumiere. I had a similar experience to you - I personally like the matchmaster better and agree it controls oil in my T Zone better. For me, the color match of the Perfection Lumiere was a bit tricky (B20 too light, B30 too dark) so I enjoy that the matchmaster adjusts so naturally!

  • This video is brilliant :) Would you know when the Chanel foundation came out?? x

  • @tsastsastss I think the perfection lumiere came out in late september.

  • Fragrance should NOT be in foundatiions. Many people have been breaking out from Chanel's and as a chemist I believe it is due to the excessive fragrance so watch out for that.

  • Why can't you use the target foundation brush with the Chanel Foundation?

  • @TiMalice2009 did i say i can't? i'm so sorry that isn't true. i was testing both foundations out so i just used the target brush with the mac matchmaster and the chanel foundation with the chanel foundation brush.

  • @TiMalice2009 It was just amusing that with the Matchmaster you said, "you don't need an expensive brush to apply Matchmaster". Then for the Chanel, you pull out the Chanel brush, lol.....

  • How do you touch up your foundation? Would love tips on this!

  • @ForEvrMusic i just powder once a day after i put the foundation on initially in the morning.

  • fragrance foundation didnt break you out? thanx!

  • thanks for the video i needed that. you read my mind . i wanted to try matchmaster , i have normal to combination skin , shiny at forehead , hard match me with color (always too pink or too yellow undertones) studio fix broke me out ( familiar ha ?) After your review i'll try it . Because mineral foundations broke me while everyone loves it i am a little picky with the foundation especailly when mac is so expensive in Turkey nearly twice the price (gırrr) so thank you a lot girl .

  • @huysuzally i'm so glad that helps!

  • I heard that the chanel perfection lumiere oxidises and the shade becomes slightly darker within a few hours...is this true? Thanks for your review

  • @sushigurl18 yes on me it does change slightly but in a good way.

  • I agree with you about the scent! Its weird lol!!! But have you noticed any skin problems with the Chanel one since you have used it...i really want to try it but im afraid the fragrance might break me out!

  • @Biquis1 thank goodness no issues with the chanel and my skin!

  • OMG Pro Longwear is my HG foundation right now in NW35. i always goes back to it. Studio Fix Fluid broke me out badly and i'll never touch is again. Would you say this is better than Pro Longwear?

  • @invincible221 I love Pro Longwear! It's hard to say. With Matchmaster the color match for me is a little better.

  • @crystalis007 i sometimes have trouble with the pro longwear blending properly does this blend better?

  • @invincible221 I think they are both about the same blending wise.

  • You look beautiful Doll in this video! I love your ahir & makeup!

  • @DeeDoesMakeup your so kind, have a good rest of the weekend!

  • @belletifi27 Its funny because makeup is the only area I usually splurge on high end stuff. The prada set is the nicest thing i've EVER had. I usually go with Coach bags. And I buy all my clothes at Kohls:) Thanks so much for watching!

  • Thanks for this review! I've been interested in it since I found out about it over a month ago! I love your nails btw.

  • @JanessaTheCow thanks!

  • I never knew Chanel had foundations for darker complexions. I never see them at the counters or the website.

  • @thatblackseluchic i know what you are talking about, in some areas they aren't even out on the counter! they make a few deeper shades for darker complexions. this is their first time doing a decent job of it in my opinion:)

  • I've been waiting for this video! You have turned me on to make up so much lol. Keep the informative videos coming! Your efforts are appreciated =)

  • @bemac85 thanks, i love doing it!

  • You are my go to girl for foundations! You loo great, I love your hair.

  • @TrayTrayBaby thank you so much:)

  • Thanks for the great review. I also wear Chestnut in Mat Lumiere, NC50 Pro longwear, and 7.5 Matchmaker but I was matched differently than you in Perfection Lumiere. My match was 114 Ambre.

  • @afulton8 thank you for letting me know maybe they have another ambre for me that works year round!

  • I love your nailpolish in this video! :)

  • @lindalvsfashion thank you!

  • LOVE you and love Temptalia :) I've purchased things based on both your reviews/swatches and have been very pleased each time

  • @roglesby74 thanks so much for saying that. i really love her site!

  • Wonderful review hun. My biggest issue w/ foundations is the fact that I can't find a single one that connects w/ my undertone. I currently spot treat w/ MAC's nw45 but do so because it's so reddish orange on me and yet still deep enough (if that makes any sense). My undertone is rather dull which makes matching faily difficult and next to impossible. I had thought about the MMM but am suck a skeptic and am unsure of the investment. A visit to the counter is a must at this point. Thanks hun.

  • @AmourInfinity thank you. its so frustrating the find the right shade sometimes. i used nw45 for YEARS and it wasn't perfect for me but i made do. when pro longwear came out i was shocked that an nc color-nc50 was such a good match. i hope when you visit the counter they have something that works!

  • @crystalis007 - You're very welcome and again thank you. I was thinking of trying an nw or nc47 (one of them is very hard to come by) and I never thought to try an nc50. I do hope they can help me as well.

  • Hey what shade are u normally in mac prolong wear? I About ur shade and I went to get matched and they said I was a 9.0 in matchmaker eek! Too dark right?

  • @lsakasl1 NC50, i used to wear another shade but NC50 is my match. I'm not sure, i didn't try out 9. did you try it out on your skin? i'd do that before i bought it.

  • @crystalis007 yea i did, i think she started off with the 7.5 on me but i guess i didnt allow for the oxidation factor (of reviews ive seen say that the colour deepens a bit on oxidation) still not convinced im a 9 im gonna have to go back - im usually nw45 in pro longwear (its waay too reddish for me but ive been making do)

  • I also like the matchmaster by Mac.

  • Oh how I waited for the Chanel foundation for months. I called so much that my Nordstrom's counter called me when the truck came in with the shipment & I went to buy it that night. They didn't have all the testers of course bec it was so early, so I bought the 2.0 but it made me look like a ghost and then the 3.0 was WAY to dark once it oxidized. It didn't work for my skin tone. There was to big of a gap btwn 2 and 3. Plus it is VERY fragrant. I had the same problem with MatchMaster. Sigh

  • @EndlesslyHopeful oh no, i'm so sorry the color match was so bad. i hate it when i look forward to something and it's not for me. and the same issue w/matchmaster damn! that really sucks. i'm sorry to hear that.

  • Look so pretty day. Glowing! You must have had a goodnight..LOL

  • @kareemtiheed thank you, your so sweet!

  • First off I love you videos.. =) I noticed that I don't brake out but I think I'm allergic to Mac select spf 15 foundation or something because my face will get really itchy the next day, i ended up scratched, that's how bad it was.. :/ so I'm scared to try any other Mac face products.. :( I use the mac blushes & eyeshadows:)

  • @naomilvsart thank you so much for saying that. i really didn't do well with that foundation either or the studio fix fluid. they really did something strange to my skin. i don't blame you for not trusting their liquid foundations. who wants to get itchy irritated skin or break out?

  • This is an absolutely fabulous video! I am surprised more people aren't comparing these.

  • @shalar01 thank you, its interesting how similar they are to me!

  • @crystalis007 So you don't think the Chanel is worth the extra money as opposed to the Mac. Is that correct? Also, do you like it better then the pro longwear?

  • @shalar01 not really worth the extra money. if i had to pick one to spend money on (with a gun to my head lol) i'd go with the mac. the flowery smell and price tag make are the reasons for not picking chanel over mac.

wow thats hard, matchmaster or pro longwear.... i'm on my second bottle of pro longwear....i think i'd go with matchmaster because the color match is better for my skin tone.

  • When you first hauled it I was thinking that you may need a lighter shade in Chanel, I'm a shade darker than you and I have 154...the smell is a lil weird, I love Chanel but this time Mac won me over

  • @iammisspg yeah i think the smell is strange!

  • I got the Matchmaster in N9 and 154 in Chanel. I think you need to go down a shade in Chanel. Is this the new camera?

  • @mrsshoppingdiva yeah i need to go down a shade soon. no i got a new digital camera to use for taking blog pictures.

  • I had been wondering about both of these foundations, so thanks for the reviews. I've been wanting to try a Chanel foundation for two years, but nothing ever matched my skin perfectly enough to justify the price. You've given me hope that maybe I can get a good match with the Perfection Lumiere foundation!

  • @EyeWearMakeup I hope that they have the right shade for you to purchase. its way too expensive to play around. good luck i have been so frustrated with them foundation wise in the past. hopefully they will be better from here on out!

  • Crystal! I'm on my way to the Chanel counter to get matched for the Perfection Foundation. LOL. You're review is right on time. Thanks.

  • @rjsmom84 I really hope you like it. I am so happy with it. They really got it right for me anyway this time!

  • I'm going to try it. I was also wondering about the break-outs. I'm trying to clear the scars on my face for using other foundations. I love your review. take care

  • @mzladylocks thanks and i hope it works for you!

  • great video!! thanks u ! :)

  • @sweetrita3 sure:)
