  • 1 it's a red cap oranda

2 you cant keep him/her in a bowl

    IT WILL DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very pretty fish.... A Ryukin, i believe... He will be fine in that tank, but it is easier on the fish to have all the luxuries that everyone else is mentioning... I have 18 fish 15 of which are in the goldfish family and no aerorator, just a phosphate and carbon filter combo, 4 plants and they are doing great!!!

  • At leaste some plants to take up the nutrients inthe water

  • I actually had 2 goldfish in a bowl no tank, no filter, no aerator, clean water every day and they lived for almost 3 years.and one only died because my cat ate one!

  • This is animal cruelty.

  • Ok tank but it should have a filter. Fantail goldfish dont seem to get very big but orandas do, so make sure it is not an oranda

  • the goldfish needs a 20 gallon tank alone without any friends and since they do like friends and are social u might wantto add another goldfish which means another 10 gallons so you might need to do your research but i do like your goldfish i ecpecially like the spot on the dorsal fin

  • if you feed him flakes how many or like what size is it all put together like a dime size???

  • dont listen to what people are saying ... ive had the whole thing... tank.. filter, air pump ... liquids... waste of money... fish die... fish get sick.. in a PROPER environment... we've kept fish in bowls and cleaned the water every day or so .. and they actually lived.... stores just want your money ... cuz lemme say.. you can throw a goldfish in a lake, and it will live if it doesnt get eatten ..bahahahha

  • @ninaconDios NO BALLS

THEY ARE BAD FOR FISHS EYESITE AND THEY CANNOT GROW IN THAT SMALL SPACE

  • this fish lived for how many days/week in the bowl without a filter?

  • @codfan123 if all a filter does is remove ammonia, then why would you need to clean then filter? do you think all the fish shit magically disapears? i know people who've kept goldfish in bowls for over ten years so it is possible, besides all that matters is that he is happy with his fish and his set up..... not all shop employees are idiots however, it does depend where you go.

  • LOL ur all retarded cum drop hippies all a filter does is remove the ammonia from the water

  • @123codfan let's see what happens if you leave the ammonia IN the water, kid...

  • @eurasianchica your dumb just change the water you fucking retard

  • @123codfan In order to maintain proper levels of ammonia in a bowl, you'll have to change the water 100% every day, "you fucking retard."

  • @eurasianchica and im not lazy like you if i cant be fucked ill feed it to my dog

  • @123codfan that amount of water changes would stress your fish to the point that it died anyway. If the stress don't kill it, it will stunt the growth of the fish and kill it that way. There is no humane way to keep a fish in a bowl.

  • @eurasianchica i dont keep mine like that i keep it in my tank and i have a 1000 litre tank with cichlids and oscars and all my favourite tropicals so idc about this goldfish

  • @123codfan Good for you! (and your goldfish)

  • Hahahaha I have a buda in my tank too xD

  • guys i have 2 fish in a bowl and im getting them a filter tommorow but do they HAVE to be in a tank

  • @maxyblack0 YES....YES....dont fish DESERVE a decent life too!!

All this crap about not needing a filter etc and keeping them in bowls is farcical. I go to shops and what do i hear....'oh this 20ltr tak is fine for at least 2 GOLDFISH...HELLO....EACH GOLDFISH NEEDS and i mean NEEDS AT LEST 40 LTRS EACH...YES 40 LTR PER FISH...GO LOOK AT MY FISH...SEE HOW HAPPY THEY ARE IN A 200 ltr tank and a smaller 140ltr tank....

  • @braska19 i still have them in the bowl with a filtir and air pump and i got them some plants and stuff and they seem fine and my bowl isnt one of those cheap plastic ons its like a 10 gallon tank just like a sphere

  • @maxyblack0 maxy you told me you didnt have a filter or air pump?...

  • @alicefourcatsxx lolz i did have an air pump, didnt u notice the bubbles on my vid??

  • @maxyblack0 ah yes so you do :P well glad to hear it

  • @alicefourcatsxx hey i saw your vid and those gold fish are lovely!

the tank set up is awsome!!!!!!!

  • @maxyblack0 they don't have to be in a tank but i can assure you your two fish will not live long in a bowl. The bowl will stunt their growth and they will have a very slow and painful death. Tanks are definately best as they have more surface area than a bowl and far more swimming space. I'd preferbly get a 10gallon tank for your two fish and they will be alot more happier and live alot longer. I have a 12gallon fish tank and im about to get 1 comet and 1 shubunkin goldfish to put in it.

  • @alicefourcatsxx thx i know that its not the best place 4 my goldfish but at the moment i have to put them in the bowl until i can afford a nice 10 r 20 gallon

my perants say im mad doing wat i do to keep them alive lolz but after almost a year they were amazed that they still live my goldfish r called memo and lilly but i call them milly! yes they live in a bowl but that wont stop me from doing wat u got to do! i will make a vid soon check it out

    maxyblack0

  • @maxyblack0 ah i see yer fish tanks are mega expensive! i got my fish tank about 3days ago a 12 gallon one and its a early xmas pressy and its the only present im getting for xmas! ive never kept fish before so i really hope everything goes ok with my future fish. any advice? ha same here my parents don't understand why i love goldfish so much! so your 2 goldfish are still alive after a yr in a bowl! that is an achievement! how do you become buddies on this im new? :)

  • @alicefourcatsxx u asked some tips and im not sure how to give u some wat i do know that ur goldfish r gonna need some sort of little hiding place i make mine from my plants lolz and a nice rock u also gonna need a filter and air pump and heres how to make some friends on u tube i write comments alot and ppl reply so thats how like now im replying and now i know u!

oh and my tank yes it was expensive lolz

    maxyblack0

  • @maxyblack0 ah ok well glad were friends! :D yer my tank was 99pounds :/ for my tank i got a filter which also has a propellar thing in it which air reates the water so i didnt need a air pump. and a rock im gonna buy a log thingy with holes in it for them to hide! do you use water conditioner for the water when you do you water changes or do you just use tap water? thanks for the help :)

  • @alicefourcatsxx i use tap water then i put this thing to keep that takes away chlorine and stuff like that by the way can u do a vid of ur fish i would like to see them!

  • @maxyblack0 ah ok i shall use water conditioner too then! yes i will put a video up soon im getting my fish in 4days on saturday (cant wait!!) so i'll try and get a good video of them then and try and put them up but my camera isnt the best camera in the world! when i get one up i'll tell you what its called then you can take a look! :)

  • @alicefourcatsxx awsome! what kind of fish are u getting (srry i didnt comment for ages btw) my goldfish i noticed some skales missing so i whent to the pet store and asked what is it and he told me he is getting a bit old so anyway i though when my fish die i would get a betta fish or 2baby common goldfish

can u help me decide wich won?

  • @maxyblack0 im getting 1 comet goldfish and 1 shubunkin goldfish and 2 african algae eater thingys (cant remember the name) or just 2 plecos instead of the african thingys :P ah no you reply very quickly compared to most people on here! last time you replied was 2days ago thats fine :) aww bless! how old are your goldfish? OMG i love betta fish they are so pretty :) ! i think you should go for betta fish coz there so pretty and different to goldfish and there a different challenge! :B

  • @maxyblack0 also only get a betta fish if you definately know how to look after them which im sure you do but do some research! also im getting my fish TOMORROW!!!! :D i cant wait :P were taking a m&s freezer bag to put them in so they stay cool coz i live about quarter of an hour away from the shop so i dont want them to sizzle! :B i'll probably record a video of them tomorrow or the next day when they've settled in and i'll try and put the video on here but my camera is rubbish! ;)

  • @alicefourcatsxx duh im gonna do some research! i learned my mistake of not doing research u see i got the boy fish first then the girl one later in the year and the boy fish had a realy bad home and just 1 rock that i gave away!

i didnt know this i never done research although the shop keeper was right on what he said (clean the tank once every week and feed the once everyday bla bla bla) i remember the first time saw my fish good memories...

    anyways happy fish keeping

  • @maxyblack0 ;) hehe. so you gave away a rock? im confuzzled? ha ive done gazillions of research which is kinda sad but i just luv goldfish and i didnt want anything to go wrong! what so your saying you dont like your fish now or they dont look as happy as they did? thanks :) if you dont mind me asking how old are you? :B

  • @alicefourcatsxx well something like a rock yea and THEN i bought a that big bowl with all those plants and airpump of course i like my fish they are like my children!

and ya they the boy fish didnt look happy with the old tank then i bought the girl fish with the bowl and stuff and now they both look happy!

im 11 by the way u?

  • @maxyblack0 ah i see! im 14 and im a girl as u may be guessing :B i got 2 sarassa comet goldfish yesturday and there lovely! there reali colourful! but i didnt get the 2 algae eaters the lady said i better wait 2months when the tank has cycled so ive gotta wait a bit but i dont mind ive got my goldfish! i'll try and put a video up soon but i cant find the camera and there a bit shy at the moment there hiding in their log!

  • @alicefourcatsxx awsome! i hope u dont mind of me being youinger im a boy if u didnt know and cool i hope ur fish will stay alive for lots of years!

  • @maxyblack0 ofcourse i dont mind you being younger! yer i kinda guessed you were a boy by your name ;) well its a gd start coz i woke up and my fish were alive! :D there still very shy tho hiding in their log all the time and they wont come to the surface for food it sinks and then i have to fish it out! did yours eat when you first got them? :B

  • @alicefourcatsxx yea maybe they r just scared being in a new tank and all

i new u were i girl lolz i dont know any boys who like goldfish!

  • @maxyblack0 ha me neither all my friends think im sad for loving goldfish but i just think their so cool :D my filter in my tank tho is mega noisy in my bedroom, i wish i got a undergravel filter now coz there almost silent but instead i got a eheim 2008 box filter... :B

  • @alicefourcatsxx i need to ask u do u realy need a filter ,like is it a must???

  • @maxyblack0 well this is what i question myself! i mean i have a filter a very good filter and it cleans the tank extremmely well. personally i think you do need a filter as your fish will live so much longer and be so much happier but some people can get away with it without a filter. i have a friend and she has two goldfish in a plastic tank without a filter but she has to replace her goldfish every other month because of the deaths of them... do you not hav a filter?

  • @alicefourcatsxx im gonna say yes you do need a filter! but if you dont have a filter you'd have to do a lot of water changes to make up for it and to remove any excess food. but there are some cheap filters out there or some people even make their own! a good filter is a undergravel filter which is cheap and easy to use and quite! :D you dont have to replace any cartridge or anything you just have to clean the gravel to keep it in good condition!

  • @alicefourcatsxx no i dont hav a filter,i clean the tank every week on sundays i knnew from te start i needed one but my parents say i just need to clean the tank every week but idk

  • @maxyblack0 maxy you said to someone above that you had a filter and a air pump? ...

  • he is cute, but he needs a filter a tank and a fish friend

  • He Looks Like He's Wearing A Hat With That Orange On His Head.

    He's So Cute!

  • No air!!

    No filter!!!

    Stupid bowl!!

    Stupid shop assistant!!

They would say ANYTHING to make money, remember that...THEY SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR!

  • @braska19 Sorry for taking so long to respond, I am totally aware that employees want to sell you stuff. My only question is why tell me a really small cheap simply fish bowl is perfect instead of a much larger more expensive tank with a pump and all kinds of stuff ? He very well could have been uninformed but if he was telling me it to make me spend money he failed horribly.

  • @dirtearth Because for many customers, if they knew they had to spend a few hundred dollars getting the right equipment, they wouldn't buy fish. Better to sell 50 people a 15 dollar setup than 5 people a 100 dollar setup.

  • Hey ... What can I do if i have same fish like u ... But i know that this fish will be 6 inch. long. What can I for stop growing her? I want my goldfish like 2" max. Can i od something?

  • @Sakkaes27 are you serious?

  • @BrittieJ why?

  • @Sakkaes27 From what I have read gold fish grow depending on how big their enclosure is. If you put them in a small pond they can grow to like a foot. But you should probably just research and buy a fish that will stay the size you want normally instead of trying to stunt its growth.

  • @Sakkaes27 are you insane!!!!! there is no way to stop them from growing unless tou put them in a bowl like the video above!!! but if u do that and the goldfish don't grow they will be unhappy and most likely explode because the fish doesn't grow but on the inside no matter what the organs grow. so if u want your fish to explode fine by me but if now get it a 20 gallon tank with a filter and air pump and maybe u could fit 2 but monthly water changes with a gravel vacuum and they should GROW

  • Lovely vid :)

I have a fantail exactly like that.

Ive only had mine a few days LOL

  • that thing is too small

but is that thing in the middle a giant poop?? OMG lol

and your fish is so cutee!

  • @Gaby3898 It is actually a little Buddha statue that I bought at the flea market. =0

  • nice fish i had a 11 liter tank like that but i bought a filter which arates for really cheep and then upgraded 2 a 20 gallon

you should get a filter like mine

it was superfish aquaflow 50 really cheap small quiet

  • you cant keep them in a bowl you idiot.

  • Since there's no airs and filter, you need to change the water pretty often. Otherwise, the fish will become stress and eventually sick.

  • its true that goldfish need about 10 gallons each but this goldfish is still pretty small so i would be worrying more about filteration & airation

  • goldfish bowls are NOT big enough they grow like afoot long! When he grows up i dont think he will be swimming too much...

  • @shinyhunter345

actually comets and koi grow that large, fain tails grow to about six inches, I've kept one in a 3 gallon tank for 5 years and it's suffice. and it's happy

  • Just make sure you keep the water clean with daily water changes and it should be fine

but definitely do look into upgrading

    love the fish [=

  • I've posted a vid for you to check out fella. I started off by having my fantail in a bowl, cleaning it out every 6 days and it seemed happy enough. Now I've bought a 15 litre tank with filter and she's a lot happier. To be honest though, a well looked after fish in a bowl can be happier than a neglected one in a tank. When mine was in a bowl she loved human presence, which means she's very responsive to us now in a tank :)

  • nice fish!

but not 2 over keen on the whole bowl idea, i prefure tanks for obvious reasons , but overall nice!

  • Do they grow bigger? I just got 2 todayz. Any tips?

  • yes they do grow biger it depends how big the tank is

  • They grow ALLOT bigger, and don't go believing that urban mith that they grow depending on their tanks. Goldfish are long lived and if it doesn't live to 20 you are doing something wrong.

Tip of the day? Goldfish need far more water than most fish and strong filters with it as they have no stomachaches and produce allot of sh*t. Most people are unaware of this.

Ever wondered how sometime you see Goldfish that are huge yet most you've seen are small? That's because most never reach adulthood.

  • Actually, why don't you search "adult goldfish" on google and click on images. This way you'll have a good idea of how large they grow :)

  • they won't grow in this sized fish bowl. goldfish need atleast 15-20 gallon of water per fish and they should be kept in grow atlest of 4.

  • get him another friend, mabe two if one of them dies.

  • well the other one could of died from not being in a better environment if you get a plant and put it in there it helps alot believe me i have some fish in a bowl just like that. the plant acts as a natural filter for the water. i had two bowls and the one with the plant the water stayed more clear. its harder to maintain a bowl than a fish tank because of the small space and the poops or waste created by the fish over time.

  • I'm sorry but fish should not be put in bowls full stop, why do you think it was made illegal in several countries under animal cruelty acts?

  • actually i have pretty big sized bowl and i only have like two fish in there. and i have a plant to maintain a good filter and good oxygen so i wont have to change the water as much. but i am about to move them to my tank because like two of them died after having them for a while. i do agree that bowls can be cruel but if its a good size like mine its not cruel. i cant stand people who put fish in bowls like 3 inches across thats cruel!

  • thats good i had a bowl and my fish died in 2 weeks

  • did you clean the water and how many fish did you have?

  • Get a plant or two

  • ive had my goldfish for about a year or so without a filter in a five gallon tank. they live long if you feed them right and keep their tank clean

    { the fish in my video}

  • Hey,,guys,,i admire how you know so much about the fish,,,but i was gonna say that the tank in the film is suitable for two goldish. Two reasons,,,1)The goldfish should have a companion in there as they are sociable fish,,2)The tank that i have is a bit bigger and it has three fish in it and i was told by the people i bought it off that it is acually suitable for 4,,so mate,,if you can try and get another fish inthere,,make sure its a cold water fish though,,,...

  • Goldfish do NOT belong in bowls. That little dude will be 8" as an adult. He needs ten gallons all to himself minimum.

  • bet that fish is dead now, well could you live without air and live in your own poo!!

  • BAD REALLY BAD!!! NEVER PUT A GOLDFISH or any fish IN TO A TANK LIKE THAT!!!! NEVER!!! THEY WILL DIE FOR SURE! STUDY ABOUT FISH BEFORE U BUY THEM!! AND DUDE WHERES UR FILTER?

  • I was told by the person working in the fish department at PetSmart that one goldfish is fine in this size bowl. I clean the bowl once every three days.

I plan to upgrade to a larger tank and get a filter. But havent been able to because money is tight.

  • hay if you realy do clean the tank every three days that is fine and goldfish dont need that much oxygen i dont have an air pump and i have 4 goldfish in the same tank i just let the filter pour out water and the bubbels are made so dont jump on his case

  • NEVER believe what an employee tells you in ANY shop; the people in pet shops know no more about fish than than those in computer shops know about computers! I remember once when I asked about an iphone's processor (in a phone shop obviously) and was told it didn't have one (all computers have processors, even calculators).

anyway the point is employees know jack, so check online first.

  • yer! thats right

  • @deityofanimee Interesting. I work in a corporate pet shop and have been in the hobby for around 12 years, I suppose I don't know anything either? I'm not saying this isn't wrong, it is (or was), but biased and generalized comments like yours need to be called out. Double check your information, but don't be ignorant.

  • btw you dont actually need a filter. we had 2 for years without one. you just needd to lcean it well

  • Healthy gold fish live for 20 years, so I kinda think you DO need a filter.

  • once my fish lived for 25 years but i was varry lucky

  • good point but my fish died with out a filter but thats probly because i only cleened it once a month i will take cere of my new fish

    i miss my fishys
