  • mike ratledge is a fucking genius. light years ahead of many so called virtuosos.

  • quel beau suceur de pipeau ce Jenkins...

  • is this available As a DVD or MP3...

WHERE can i obtain a copy of this outside of youtube!

    please HELP!

  • Every version of Soft Machine had it's particular brilliance. My favorite was Wyatt, Ratledge, Hopper and Dean; but I would never disregard other incarnations. There is just too much musicianship and soul within their world to make negative comments. It's only a matter of personal taste.

  • @glynnt54 well said. end of the story

  • great stuff

  • mike ratledge is:" the Boss"!!!

    please bazjol,,don't be a chump.

  • Are the hateful insults really necessary?

  • Apparently so - at least for the narrow-minded, arrogant haters out there. Why such hateful comments are on such sites as this is just incredibly sad. Seems that such people's extreme, ego-driven narcissism compels them to make international asses of themselves, here on YouTube.

    Long live Soft Machine!

  • Who the fuck are these faggots? It was Wyatt and Hopper who really made this band.

  • no hopper no wyatt still good i guess. the creative super juices were already milked imo.

  • anyone have the date for this show??

  • what type of organ does mike ratledge use in the first tune? i really like that sound

  • hi,Mike Ratledge used a Lowrey organ connected with a "fuzz" effect.

This is the typical sound of soft machine (period 1967-1975)

  • sorry for my haste!!! these tunes are from both albums!

  • This is from Soft Machine 7. There most "commercially" accessible album but highly musical, excellent production, and great compositions. As seen from the video, this band was tight!!

  • Six album actually.

But yea, amazing stuff i agree

  • "Riff" from Six and "Down the Road" from Seven. Very interesting period in the history of the group; you can almost sense the transition towards a different style on Bundles.

  • Thanks for that info...just incredible playing from Mike Ratledge here...finally able to be seen.

  • Mike Ratledge...amazing!!!! Thanks!

  • great footage - thanks. any chance you could contact my channel with contact email interested in your vid's. will be uploading in near future, some excellent footage, including softs material. FATHERFOCUS - please contact channel with contact

email and more info on your softs material - HP & 1 to 5 on VHS ? thanks.

  • 1000 blessings on he who posts the Soft Machine videos! Ratledge is the god of keyboards. .

  • Just gone away Hugh Hopper, Roy Babbington has substitued with Fender bass six strings, the period is between album six and seven, the first song belong at Six album, the second at Seven... today it is as classic music, great.

  • Yeah...and I don't have these CD's handy...what are the specific tunes here? Thanks.

  • So, You have few dvd of sm with Holdsworth line up? (Bundles? Hazard Profile?)... I guess 'Hazard Profile' was the initial correct name for the Holdsworh line up...

  • 7eme album vrai? faux?

  • faux

Do you no Marianne Faithfull? Say it in "Broken English"

  • But the band is from seven, thanks Paul..

  • Thanks for all the footage of Soft Machine & Matching Mole you've been posting here. It is really quite unique material, that never has seen the light before.

Although with Hopper gone, following Dean and Wyatt, the decay of SM is already very well audible and visible in this one.

One point though: the video runs ahead of the audio, and that's a pity.

Since you probably have the original broadcast on a HD-recorder, you may consider reconverting it, in a proper way?

  • master master of gods siroen thanks thanks
