Yes I would be a great deal I would jump on that kind of deal . I am disabled so I have no spare money as right next store to me I live in a rual area the old lady passed away and the trailer had a fire and the town tore it down and took it away . I have heard rumors it is up for back taxes for 10k no way do I have that. Its only 1.2 acres . You got a great deal !!

I had / have no idea how such properties are purchased. I hope you get it for $700!!! That would be awesome!!! How far from your present place? Walking distance? By comparison, I just called on the 1.1 acre lot across the street from us -- $38,900. Nothing fancy (no gold mine on it! LOL). Ridiculous! P.S. We've used a butter "bell" for a couple of years now. You'll love it. They work great AND in the summer during hot weather, your butter will get soft, but not "melty".

thats a great find around this town when something goes up for taxes they auction it off for what they can get out of it last time they did it the cheaoest smaller lot went for 15000 and the bigger 20 acre lot went for 26000 im thinking about checking the counties up north of here to see what we can find but im looking for 40 acres or more to go totaly off the grid

You don't have any snow? Looks assume and a couple of buildings to use for scrap material. What are the taxes on it? Is it close enough you can walk the goats over and let them graze?

@GoatHollow I should never leave comments until after I have coffee...I meant to say looks awesome. Maybe you will get lucky and find another root or storm cellar. The more buildings on the property = larger tax bill. Maybe you could find a free trailer, someone on craigslist is always giving them away or very cheap.

The lack of snow has really hurt the local businesses here too, less tourist. My sons are upset they haven't been able to do any snow shoveling business,keeps melting.

re: butter crock - change your water every couple days, and in summer it may help to put an ice cube in there

Wow, totally cool. Our tax lien auctions take place sort of secretly down here. They are required to advertise a date but not a time. It may be 8AM or 4:22PM. Also you have to have like 3 or so years worth of tax liens on a piece of property before you can get a deed to it. Hope it works out.
