I am very surprised that the black rhino didn't charge at these people. I mean how close were you? My South African teacher told me today that when she went on a saffari, the rangers spotted a black rhino about 400m away from them. They were on a hill. The rangers told her and her friends to freeze and don't make a sound until they figured out the black rhino's intentions. They are apparently capable of doing 50m in 3-4 secs so in about 30 secs. they've could've been dead.

They are very territorial so how come it didn't attack? I've seen other videos on youtube where it charges almost instantly.
