  • will never mind .

  • R.I.P Joe...

  • Not the same without Topper, sorry that's the truth.

  • REST IN PEACE JOE LOVE THIS SONG

  • Great version & post topper on the drums

  • I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this song. The Clash got to their period of living in NYC, playing live on Broadway every night, writing and recording Sandinista, and became the only punkers prior to the Beastie Boys to actually like rap/ hip-hop and have the cojones to try to do it.

  • RIP Strummer

  • MAAAAAAAAGNIFICENCE!!!!!

  • I love The Clash! Can't say more, can't say less.

  • I LOVE this song,

  • If only all rock bands felt the funk this much.

  • I saw "The Clash" in October of 1982 at Kent State University in Ohio!

It was the closest thing I've ever had to a religious experience.......

  • @GAK62 I saw Clash at their very last shows at Hollywood Palladium in L.A. I think in Nov. 1982. Best live concert I've ever experienced in my life--and I've been to a lot of great-great ones. But the Clash at the Palladium was IT. Most wild but non- injurious mosh-pit I've ever negotiated.

  • vacuum cleaner sucks up rat turd 2011

    whaddwegot?

  • Oh ya, I can't stop my leg, I got a case of Clashitus...

  • CHEESEBOIGER!

  • Who is the drummer??

  • @masnarfo Terry Chimes

  • MUSIKHISTORY; BRILLIANT; THE CLASH

  • This is why I say that Hip-Hop is the Cousin of Punk Rock.

  • Cheeseburger?!

  • JOE STRUMMER R.I.P. Thank you for the Tunes.

  • He said "I've got the answer. I know what we are all searching for" and after ? Just casually magnificence ?

  • Its amazing how many people are viewing The Clash video's still today proving what all of us original Clash fans knew, there music is timeless, pure genius!

  • HAPPY SUPER CLASH FRIDAY!

  • @maidofgold Couldn't have said it better myself :)

  • that is the most unic and good music evr produced

  • That was awesome... Yes they were "The Only Band That Matters" The Clash Rules

  • the clash were a punk band in essence and certainly in philosophy, but they transcended genre. they took influences from so many different styles of music that they crafted a unique sound that defies any description other than "completely fucking brilliant".

  • Happy Birthday Sandinista!

  • what do we have for entertainment? Cops killing gypsies on the pavement....

  • @joshuarosenblatt haha thats realy funny

  • Tout simplement parfait!

  • long lost classic man

  • What this is Punk Rock? Sounds like Funk with a fast pace vocals

  • @saulsalt8

that's the clash honey + reggae and magic :-)

  • Buenisimooooo

  • So much new Rock, R&B, whatever..., just cannot touch the way these guys blended so many unique genres of music into pure Punk Rock. Most of today's music (Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, Alternative Rock...(yeah, right, alternative to what???) is totally segregated and watered down. There is no true fusion of different types of music...sometimes, I truly feel that culturally and socially, music and the human race has taken 5 steps backward, instead of forward...Terribly sad.....

  • Strummer..the best...R.I.P

  • I love the bass part in this song! It's so awesome! Paul McCartney ain't got nothing on Paul Simonon!!!

  • @greendaygirl211 Except Simonon didn't really compose that bassline :P

  • the clashhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

  • vacuum cleaner sucks up bungie...

  • this is funk!

  • And they look like such nice clean boys!

  • Oh fuck, Genius.

  • No band like the CLASH, then or now.........

  • sweden loves you

  • @xTakeThisLife

    yeah, sweden love you

  • My god! This is the only Youtube video in a long time that hasn't given me a fucking pointless advertisement!!! YAY!

  • EN ESTA CAncion STRUMMER LE SACA FUEGO A LA GUITARRA Y EL BAJO ES OTRO ROLLO! DE LAS MEJORES!

  • The Strummer rap!

  • good song

  • Apres les avoir vu plusieur foi en concert dans les années 80's, comment ne pas trouver ennuyeux , tous ces petits groupes aujourd'hui!!!!!

  • The absolutely best song ever by The Clash

  • Great song by a great band I love Sandinista!

  • this is the best clash song ever!!!

  • how did he memorize that lyric? so fuckin long

  • mganifffffffffffffeeeeeeeeeeeeceeeeeeeeenntttttttttt rock the doc

  • !! JOE YOU'RE MY GOD !!

  • That was Fucking awsome.

  • 0:50 Look, it's Jerry Seinfeld!

  • Damn it, turn upp that bass!!!

  • damn good song - another long-living News Flash from the Clash

  • only the good die young, fuckin' luv you joe

  • Joe Strummer is one of my heroes!

  • @jmsagro my2..legend!!R.I.P

  • Which concert is it ...?

  • Looks like a show from the Combat rock tour 1982. I saw hem at the Spectrum in Philadelphia probably late August. They looked pretty much the same. Arena Looks similar. Could be...

  • i think its the us festival gig in 1983, last gig they ever played with mick jones. (topper was sacked in 82 and the drummer is pete howard btw.)

  • @lupatello This is the three-day US Festival 83 headlined by the Clash, Van Halen and David Bowie. This is the night when some members of the Clash' entourage got into an altercation with concert organizers and the band nearly canceled the show but ended up playing much later that night. I was there-- the beginning of a premature end for the greatest rock band of all time. What a night it was!

  • I miss Joe Strummer.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • magnific

  • when you see joe strummer from the side, he kind of looks like jerry seinfeld hehe

  • Best ever,Joe is greater than Bruce,Bono ore anyone else!

  • so hard!

  • def one of the best!

  • ...FANTASTIC,,,,,

  • HUGE BAND !!!!

  • man awsome song, learnt the bass on mine but does anyone know the setup this bassist uses?...mine just dosnt sound as funky! =(

  • it's interesting how people comment in order to maintain positive feedback on good videos which they like....

  • that drummer is as good as topper when topper wasnt all herioned out

  • Joe.

    :(

  • his bass needs to be turned up

  • Hah yeah. I love the bass line in this song; if it were turned up just a bit more, it would be perfect.

  • Bass sounds fine. I can hear it pretty clearly

  • I absolutely love this song.

I named my second dog after Joe.

His name is Strummer Joe. :]

  • watch the Tom Synder show version - works for me. How can anyone mention Green Day on here? They have nothing on them becasue they arent punk, uptempo boy band GD!

  • famous bass line

  • The best Punk band ever, then and now! Green Day has nothing on them, at all!

  • @lwnchair22 That would probably be because Green Day aren't punk =)

  • @lwnchair22 i think that rancid is more like them than green day

  • @lwnchair22 Why do you even mention them under a Clash video...so fucking annoying.

  • @lwnchair22

green day??? i think they are a pop-hypocrite band! WTF with Punk????

  • @lwnchair22 If you think clash were a punk band you are as retarded as the guys that say green day is punk

  • @lwnchair22 Why would you even mention Green Day in a comment about the Clash :(

  • Not sufficiently well known that drummer Topper Headon wrote this entire song from bass up. True. Joe Strummer (RIP) told me this.

  • that's quite a claim (not that topper wrote it, but that strummer told you this.) but there's no doubt topper was a good if not great songwriter in his own right. exhibit a: rock the casbah.

  • I don't know about this performance. It kind of lacks something.

  • yeah - that something is topper headon!!!

  • that & it seems like mick isnt really playing

sounds kind of empty if that makes sense

  • Haha my dad is allways telling me this is the First of the Rap songs out there....He will not accept it any other way!!

  • No, it's not ok to make such pointless and untrue comments.

Parses6 will find himself paying for his words, because you always reap what you sow.

Having said that, I do respect every opinion, but at least come correctly informed next time, like asdqwezxc69 also pointed out.

  • I love the sound of the guitar in this!

  • if anyone has a video of rhcp covering this please send it!

  • Parses6 you are a knob of the lowest order.

  • WHAT A DICKHEAD YOU ARE!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • you are a fucking knob end and not fit to lick the smeg off my dick

  • Quite simply the best band in the world....ever

  • Guess you never heard of the Talking Heads.

  • Yes, I've heard of Talking Heads. They're a good band

  • Of one thing I am sure: If humans are still here in 500 years they will be listening to Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday, Hank Williams, Jimi Hendrix and the Clash. Music may be the 20th century's great legacy.

  • oh ,so close my friend....alice cooper, keith richards, tim armstrong. now thats a legacy!

  • Alice Cooper ?!.. You're kidding, mate !

  • That's a pretty freakin' good list. Tempted to throw in Bob Marley, James Brown, Muddy Waters, Coltrane and Little Richard, though. I think human civilization kind of hit a plateau after Little Richard. Then fucked off entirely after the Clash. Woe.

Mick is really giving that guitar hell in this version. Miss Topper though. Can't have everything.

  • what about satch and vai???beetoveen even?!?

  • Beethoven rolled over and told Tchaikovsky the news, man!

  • I like you. I find you funny. I want to be like you. Now, explain your bizarre comment

  • that was better than the studio version

  • nice

  • It doesn't get any better !

  • just incredible, but what could you expect from the clash except magnificence!!

  • best bassline of all time

  • Bass line...Drum beat...lead'n rythmn guitar...Nothing to waste...One of the best band and influancing band of the century...Ring ring 7 am ...move yourself...

  • @psc209trk

The intro is hard as fuck :P especially if your used to playin reggae music

  • rien de plus fort que the clash

  • bien sure

  • ROCK-GODZ ON EARTH!!!

  • gewoon lekker!

    en voor de anderstaligen:

    just great!

  • My favorite song from my favorite band.

  • Same!

  • Oh man you ' ve got the reason, it ?s simply perfect , every accord, every riff

  • I used to hear a song on the radio sometimes from the Clash that sounded very Motown-ish, where Joe was singing with a group of kids. Anyone know which song I'm talking about? I haven't heard it in decades but I would love to hear it again.

    Thanks for any effort.

  • The name is " Hitsville in UK"

  • Thanks a lot! I'll look it up.

  • fuckin' long, in it?

  • I got the official Clash book for Christmas....highly recommend it

  • f*cking BRILLIANT

    god bless joe strummer

  • me agrada la canción.

Es uno de los mejores de THE CLASH

  • CHEESEBOIGER !!!!

  • Funk Version ?

  • Nope... Just a faster version... I think the album version is more funk than this one O_o

  • Love this version to bits as well as the one on San! Joe was so intelligent ad passionate, and he's very hot here too hehe ... the lyrics are brilliant. And the sound is great as always! Rest in peace joe, R.I.P. The Last Gang In Town

  • such a great song! joe was an amazing song wrietter

  • Name one better frontman who plays with more intensity.Newsflash: No one. As far as Eva Mendes liking The Clash, she couldn't name one member of The Clash. That was embarrassing to read. The Clash turned down Lollapalooza, and they NEVER sold out.

  • So true! They went bankrupt because they sold their records so cheap... They wanted their music to be accessible to everyone... True Punk Rock right there.

  • Amazingly, fuckingly beautiful!!!

  • the only band that mattered...!!!!!!

  • boom

  • how can this amasing vid only have 67.3k views, this song is one of the best from the certainly best punk rock band there has been so far. i encourage all my mates to watch this cos it's not only a great song but great extras in the vid. R.I.P Strummer.

  • the clash were the fucking business

  • Long Live Joe Strummer! God he was a fucking genius...

  • One of my fave Clash songs...After hearing an interview a couple of years ago with Eva Mendes. She had said this was one of her all-time fave songs ever...I kind of payed attention to it more.I believe it...She's HOT and the song is too...

  • You lot! I wanna cheeseburger! Yaaaah!

  • "But the gist of it was that the Clash were upset when they heard that Van Halen took a million dollars to headline the third and final night of the festival. The Clash, by contrast, refused to go on stage until US Festival organizer Steve Wozniak (of Apple Computer) agreed to donate a large sum of money to charity"

    So...

  • I like how you copied and pasted the same message into two and possibly more videos. Caught you in the other magnificent seven vid. That's real classy; at least think of something else to say. Whenever I rail against the emo shit bands I think of something original every time. Even if I visit all of fall out boy's shit videos, something original each time.

  • Why this has more views than the video I originally posted my comments. I stand by my posts. FLASH.... Money, money, money! Magnificent !!!

    Great song, though.

  • To the person who hates the honda and sony lyrics. I think [partic. Sony] is cheap and phony. Mass produced products produced by capitalists, exploited workers given poor wages compared with markup, bought cheap, sold expensive.

  • awsome song

  • one of the best videos on youtube

  • 神曲

  • I like this band but i didnt researc hto much on them what happend to the origonal drummer?

  • Topper was sacked- drugs addiction...

  • druummer sucks topper was better

  • seriously, Parses6 is fucking retarded. i love fucking Joe, and another thing, Che was smart as a whip, and he was right about alot of things.

Highlandlord, I don't think anyone could be more right.

and leftist isnt always bad. its just often distorted by the motives of the people facilitating it.

  • You love fucking Joe? :P

    Soory, couldnt resist :D XD

  • My Father know dat Singer Personally

  • FREAKIN GODS!!!

  • What fucking moron puts Stalin and Che in the same category, one was a heartless monster the other spent his life trying to help people, as a doctor and as a revolutionary. Washington was revolutionary, as was Wallace, Cromwell and most of the other people who helped define the modern nations

  • yes but you forget one diffrence between those 4 washington killed because he had to che killed because it was right wallace killed because he should and cromwell killed because he didnt like diffrent religions
