@BongMcPuffin - I feel your pain brother. Im deffo a 'golden age of hip hop' advocate. That mid to late 80's / early 90's era cant be beat IMO. I agree there is alot of garbage about the moment but every now and again i find myself hearing something of merit. For example, i was not a fan of Lil Wayne AT ALL until i heard his rap and the production on '6 foot 7'. The beat on that is waaay chubby. I listened to 'Carter 3' and have to say i got time for Weezy now. Not much tho but some!

@BongMcPuffin - I dont think they would have let Son Doobie be part of Soul Assassins if he used a ghost writer. That was a real dope ass clik! As for Son Doobie being better than Lil Wayne, T Pain, Kanye, Snoop et al, thats a matter of opinion but u cant say them artists dont have their moments. My taste in Hip Hop is classic all the way but even i take my hat off to songs like '6 foot 7' by Lil Wayne, 'Monster' by Kanye or 'That Tree' by Snoop. All are great tracks.

@TheWilly2fly - True, it is a matter of opinion, but I just despise 99% of all music made after about 2005ish.

Snoop was the least fail example out of my list... he's the only one that I like the music of at all, at least his older stuff... the others are all shit, just my opinion though. Snoop and Ice Cube are just fake ass studio gangsters.... and I say this as someone who has extensively studied gangster rap and gangsters/gangs in general. Bangin' on Wax is my favorite set of album ever!!!

He should've gotten a real motherfucker like B-Real or someone of that caliber to write his lyrics for him and he'd have been way better off.

That being said, he is six times better on his WORST song than Lil Wayne, T-Pain, or Kanye West are on their BEST songs. I'd MUCH rather meet Son Doobie than any of these other fake ass motherfuckers like Snoop Dogg or Ice Cube or the above mentioned fakes.
