I have 3 heelers, one blue and two reds. They each have their own personality and I know how far to go with each one. They are great dogs and couldn't imagin being without them. I've had many dogs in my life but never had dogs that loved to lick as much as these LOL
Ummm, I wouldn't be encouraging this behavior if I were you. At times during the video, her body language suggests to me that she is NOT playing. I love Blue Heelers. I have a Heeler mix (name is Jack). They're very intelligent dogs but also can be accidentally trained to behave very badly, even dangerously. I mean, you know your own dog better than anybody and maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree (haha) but seems to me she might be heading down a dangerous path. Could be real bad with lil' kids.
at anytime i can tell her stop and she will start licking my face. i can take her bone away from her with my mouth. she had a litter of 8 puppys by the male heeler you see in the video, she a great mother. now with little kids we have to put her out side, she likes to jump on them and trip them buts its nothing but love.
Ok cool. I was hoping that was the situation. Aren't they fun? Our heeler mix, Jack, is a little rough with those that he loves too. He'll knock you down and lay his full 75 lbs on you while he licks your entire face. Hasn't really hurt anybody though.
@gapminded then you really dont know the breed you can never" accidentally train a blue heeler to be aggressive you can how ever not no the breed or dogs at all and not know how to train them at all and get a bad dog a a "true blue heeler" knows how to work livestock and is not afraid of them and personally i dont think blue heelers should be raised in the city because they are bred to work livestock
@Homade79 heelers are very versatile and adaptable dogs, they can be trained to do darn near everything. As long as they get plenty of exercise and love, heelers are fine in an apartment setting. :) We've had many, many dogs over the years and our heelers were always the biggest couch potatoes.
