I did magnetic fingers turned into a finger lock on the entire audience and invited those who got stuck up. I accept by that point my subjects are 'gone' so yes the induction can be nothing more than a flourish.

Nice to see someone else utilising the Elman expectancy principle, showing how quickly expectancy can be built, though I believe Elman originally described it using three puffs of a cigarette. Ironic eh?

I discovered adding the reverse effect by way of telling them to resist, like you can in many other suggestions, really adds to this induction.

I only started using this about 6 months ago. Elman actually outlines a few methods all involve the same action three times and a cig is one of them. It can have quite an effect if you ask someone to deal down with three cards on knock on the table three times or third time a light flashes or word is said etc. What I missed when I first read the induction - and didn;t get it - was just how much play it allows in terms of delivery.
