  • im 10 and my parents are leting me grow my hair jsut like pauls. they said they wanted a boy so i could be into the beatles. their wish just came true .PAUL FOREEVER!!

  • best version

  • The piano is smokin in this. Great written song

  • TRULY THE BEST BEATLE OF ALL.....

  • He does. And the way wings honor him he is the greatest!!

    Thank paul

  • My all time favorite song by Paul. An excellent vid too. Great work!!!!!!!!!

  • Paul, when are you coming to Houston? :(

  • I love Paul McCartney and The Revealed (Ukraine)

  • Can't find a descent version of the original song on you tube.

  • Never tire of this sing....it goes deep.

  • Have you ever seen this man perform live? I have twice, and I'm only 14. Let me tell you, it is the closest thing there is to magic in this world.

  • @Axelorox Your a lucky young man:)

  • @Axelorox That is one of the greatest things I have ever read! Yes, I saw him live last year; the GREATEST experience of my life! I'm 23.

  • @cdnbeatlesgirl He's still touring? That's interesting

  • @Axelorox Good taste isn't dead! Your message gives me hope that there are still people around that know music. I sincerely thank you for your post.

  • This version is from the triple album Wings Over America a tour they made in 1976.

  • extantia, I couldn't agree with you more, it's the best version I have heard also, but I don't have a clue as to which album.

  • This Song Almost Kill My Throat! :/

Im dead! But Good Is so Fucking Good! :D

  • This the best version I've ever heard. Which album is it off of?

  • Universal forever ~~

  • You should hear him when he speaks extemporaneously during interviews.

Some people criticize Paul for being not too bright, but I always point out that he and John wrote some catchy songs!

  • @bosszeroboss i have no clue what extemporaneously means...

  • @awesomekapownoises23 It means to speak off the cuff with no previously rehearsed speech.

  • @bosszeroboss "He and John wrote some catchy songs." Ha ha. Yeah, some......

  • @therealfactor

ya gotta admit, he was pretty good, but not great without john.

    And vice versa.

    *shrug*

  • This was my wedding song. Still love it.

  • 5 people are too stupid to be amazed

  • I love the guitar solo on this song. Does anyone know what guitar was used?

  • hey just fyi the "maybe" in the title is mispelled

  • Una de las mejores performances del album triple W.O.A. Es un placa algo subvalorada, pero creo que es de las mejores actuaciones de Wings en vivo. Grande, McCartney.

  • Great vocals. Very moving. Very uplifting

  • @beatleman1991 - Am in total agreeement with you. I could loop this all day long and never tire of it.

  • I think this is the only post-Beatles Paul song that stands up to the best things he did with the Beatles, especially this live version. I mean it's just as good as Hey Jude, Let it Be, Yesterday etc etc

  • @purdy0707 This opus and others were composed whilst the Beatles were still in existance @1968/9. They were just never recored then.

My fab all time McCartney tune and best version of it. Good lead guitar by the late Jimmy McCulloch

  • best damn version of this song- love it!

  • i bet yoko ono paid four people to dislike this....

  • @techANDtumble :) now that's funny

  • @techANDtumble yoko who?

  • @jutescrim WOW

  • Love this song!!!

  • 4 haters

  • Its fun improvising to this song

and its EPIC i didnt even know it was Paul till i looked it up

  • Yea I am amazed

  • YOU lied It is McCartney...wings

  • It's good how this song begins in such a way that it sounds like it is already halfway through a story .... somehow it establishes its own place in time. Genius. The bit that is left out is the question, 'So Paul.... Why are you amazed?' This is the reply.

  • This song is amazing! Nobody will ever top this! Good for you Paul, keep it up.

  • This is amazing. I belive that one day I will be just like him. Good song. 5 stars!! ;)

  • Reminds me of a man I know.

  • wow , this lyrics makes so much sense to me. he really wrote a song with the lyrics that comes from my heart. this song made a great life greater.

  • brilliant song

  • Whatever happened to Denny Laine?

  • @shmbla73 Deny Laine became Jealous of Paul and they argued and didn't get along at the end- so the lineup of Wings has changed 4 times finally after Denny left the whole band broke up and Paul went solo for a few years

  • @QueenBeatlesWings Denny has a history of not getting along with talent greater than his.

  • @SecsSells Yeah, I met Denny a few years back at an autograph appearance. When I asked him about his experience recording Band on the Run he had no memories whatsoever. He had nothing to offer about working with Paul. Hard feelings I guess.

  • First few bars brings goose bumps and you remember how good this song really is.Brings back memories of that time too. .its one of those tunes i dont listen to enough...true classic in every way.

  • wow - listening with fresh ears after so many years. we can get a bit numbed to songs that were played alot no? anyway - the pure emotional energy of Paul's delivery is stunning and overwhelming. I mean - is there a song be it live or otherwise that touches THAT as much as this does? - oh and the solo is super great - underated perhaps.

In a 2009 interview apparently Paul said this would be the song he would like to be remembered for.. so powerful - peace

  • Paul is the ONLY GUY ON EARTH who knows how to touch people's hearts with a love song... My opinion. End of story. lol

  • simply put....amazing!!! one of the best if not the best live song ever!!!...all us mccartney fans are blessed to have this man to listen to!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing.

  • This is the best live song EVER! The original is great but the lead guitar and Paul bolting out the lyrics is awesome.

  • LOVE Denny Lane's tone on this track!

  • Regardless who wrote what.

Lennon, McCartney and Harrison all got their greatest songs within the Beatles. With each other, they had had the utmost chemistry and the creative atmosphere that never found in later career.

  • Still my all time fab composition from the greatest of them all - on the Roadshow video, I think. Written in 1968. This is THE version

  • Sorry, this was the other hand I wanted to click... SO SORRY!!!

  • JOhn said in one of his last interviews... for playboy... he said they wrote songs seperate... he said he was just being mean... and the truth was they wrote must of their songs face to face... look it up..

  • Paul did not write all the music, that's not close to being accurate.

  • STILL THE GREATEST EVER

  • I love the version from McCartney, but this version blows that one out of the water. The way he belts it out is nothing short of perfect.

  • One word........BRILLIANT !!!!! thanyou

  • I must say this is definatly one of my favorite songs by Wings and Paul has such a beautiful voice! I don't care what anyone sais, he is and always be the best!

  • No one could ever compare to Paul

  • sounds great :)

  • I like the speed of this version best. I have heard faster versions but this love song is best nice and slow.....

  • Oh my gosh i love this song. I think it's not even the song that i love, it's this version of the song. I just can't get enough of it for some reason. It's way before my time, but their is just something in the musicianship and his voice, man they really had a moment didn't they with this song?! Paul just captures some kind of emotion that probably not many people can do. I just love this song and version sooooo sooo much! His voice is, i just can't explain it. True love song, amazing!

  • MAGIC!!

  • Ilove paul is the best

  • FAB

  • love it!

  • I bow down to you sir Paul.

  • This IS the best version..of of the Wings Over America set. I have heard many versions and play this on the piano and this is indeed the best.

  • Classic, priceless video.

  • he is amazing, you can just hear the passion in his voice and his love for Linda is definatly in there. Paul McCartney and John Lennon and the beatles changed this world and will all be known forever because of it

  • best version of maybe im amazed i think:)

  • Most Amazing Man To Ever Grace This Planet.

    :)

    I freakin' love Paul.

  • PAUL MAKES THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

  • @jba2323 hi! i really like his music and him as a person but how exactly does he make the world a better place?

  • @Fabsun I feel the inclination to put you down because it seems mind boggling that you can't see how his music improves the world but that's really my shortcoming and not yours. Also, in a way that's hard to define his music and the Beatles music is encouraging to the human spirit and appeals to the best in all of us. His music, in a small way makes people feel positive, up-beat and aware of our dependence on each other and the need to build each other up rather than knock each other down.

  • blimey... every version i listen to of this song is amazing. they are all as good as each other! (in my opinion)

  • Didn't know there was really such a thing as a "natural high" til I saw Paul McCartney in 2003 - was floating for days!

  • oh man , take me back to the 70's, my magic genie!! sim sala bim!!

  • GREATEST LIVING HUMAN

  • The greatest thing about Paul is that he does it because he loves it. You can see his true passion for music every time he plays.

I saw him live in 2005 and it was the greatest concert experience I'll ever have. Thank you Paul McCartney.

  • @Malex900

I saw him in 09 and it was the greatest musical experience ever. I don't think I'll ever find something to top it. But the best part was going with my dad who had waited almost his entire life to go to a Paul McCartney concert. That to me made even McCartney's fantastic performance(outside in the poring rain no less!) dull compared to the happiness and excitement in my dad's eyes. Thanks Sir Paul for amazing us with your talent for 50+years and counting.

  • You also seem to have an insatiable appetite for all things Paul McCartney, that is why I think you will be coming around to Roger if you care. I've read your insights on Paul McCartney and I have to say, you're sounding like me when I'd defend him to some of his haters. I was obsessed over RAM, WILD LIFE, his 1st solo release primarily and also "BAND". Man, I could tell you stories but we wont go there. Give Roger Manning a listen or his band Jellyfish and you'll be amazed! I promise!!!!

  • GREATEST MAN ON EARTH

  • Best version of this song, featuring the "unprecedented heretoforly terifiying" Denny Lane!

  • I think this is from Wings over America 1976

    fantastic version

  • yep,the best

  • i luv this song! also my fav version!

  • I think you spelled maybe wrong

  • I'm a Paul McCartney fan and have been for awhile but there's a band that I'm sure any Beatles/Wings fan would enjoy. I'm a huge Jellyfish fan and for one they do covers Let em' In, and Jet but also have been compared to the Beatles! Roger Manning of Jellyfish is the Paul McCartney/Brian Wilson of the last decade and now.

  • yeah right... If he`s that good why hasn`t anybody heard of him???????? And this Wings version ISN`T the best version of Maybe im amazed

  • Dude are you serious??!!! You must haven't a clue on what great talent and skill means and it's relation to the music industry. He's a hidden jem! Ironically enough you'd be dumbfounded to find out about this man's discography. He's worked with everyone!,mostly as a "session cat", heck he's probably worked with some of your favorite artists. He's very much out from under the radar but there's no denying the man's skills! I always thought he is the perfect embodiment of those two icons.

  • You just said it. He`s a HIDDEN "jem". I will check him out, but i don`t think he`s as talented as Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson.

  • I like you Enslaved10, you got a good sense of humor. If you're a Beck fan then you must've missed it because he plays tons of instruments(mainly piano&"keyboards") like drums, percussion, and some voices. Starting on Mutations and on every album after that. I'm a big McCartney fan as well much more in the past than now but nonetheless a fan. He's extremely talented and yes I do believe he's up there with those guys. His vocal arrangements alone would have both Paul and Brian in awe 4 days!

  • I had a wild arugument with a Lennon fan claiming that Paul had no talent. My response to that was to quote John Lennon who called Paul a genius and a fucking good songwriter and after that i`ve never heard from him again. I will check out jellyfish and het back to you if i like them!

  • There's a really good article on him that you can read when you go to NotLame's review of Solid State Warrior, his Japanese import version of his first solo record. BTW, he played piano/harpsichord/keyboards/vocals in Jellyfish and payed a big role in co-writing and vocal arrangements...not to mention being co-producer for both albums! Like McCartney and Todd Rundgren of the day, his solo albums are produced and created all by himself. You can sample his songs on NotLame's site.

  • wow just like the original version video from 1970

  • I saw Wings in 1976 in San Diego. Sat behind the stage. It was an incredible night for me. I started playing voilin at age 9, but soon heard the song I'm Down by the Beatles. Learned to play the bass part on it. Still playing Beatles to this day. The greatest band ever. So much joy, so much, so much.

  • Greatest version of this song, hands down. You know, I just finished recording band on the run for my cover band, and I think I'll be adding this one as well!

  • Denny is sooooooo gorgeous!!!

  • I HAVE A LOVE LIKE THIS..MY LOVING WIFE

  • In '76, no one could touch Wings as a touring band, and this - for me - is the definitive version of one of Macca's best-ever songs.

  • No no no no no no... His original solo version is the best!!!

  • this live version is even better than the original recording.

    love it!

  • Ditto!! This is my favorite version, it makes me cry every time...

  • maybe im amazed by this song. ITS GREAT!

  • Awesome!!

  • A pretty song. Thank you for sharing and thank you Deb for sending.

  • You know what? This is so schmaltzy that it makes it THE BEST LOVE SONG I'VE EVER HEARD.

And it is MUCH more beautiful than Lennon's "Dear Yoko," might I add... although that is sort of sweet.

But this song... is THE SONG to play to show someone you love 'em. And only Paul could EVER compose something so perfect.

  • My favorite song. Check out my Beatles Motorcycle. Type in: Beatles Motorcycle

  • you make feel me so ...to see that you'll never will be able to understansd what you'r listening to here...even more yeuk!

  • Your a true moron..

    DIAF

  • The beatles were so good. you just can't describe!

  • This is Wings :)

but you're right anyway, The Beatles is the best band ever created! ;)

  • What would you give to love someone as much as Paul loved Linda?

How much more would you give to be genius enough to write this song about it?

Every so often, Paul nails it. Right from his heart to yours. A talent to last 1000 years.

  • you're so right. when i made my tribute cd to my wife, maybe i'm amazed, two of us,till there was you was on there.

  • Wow, you said it alright!

I am still hoping that one day I will find someone who migh love me like that (40 years and counting!!).... Its such a wonderful love song.

You said it so well, i really enjoyed your comment...thanks for posting...

  • Jimmy McCulloch`s death was a loss to music. At 16 he formed the band Thunderclap Newman. In`69 they had a UK#1 with Something In The Air.Joined Wings in`73 aged 20 - McCartney clearly recognised his talent .With them for several years appearing on several studio albums but left midway during London Town recordings.Wrote a few Wings songs. He joined a reformed Small Faces but sadly died 2years later aged just 26 from a heart attack caused by a long running drug addiction.

  • As far as the Beatles were trying to one up each other at the time, can you "Imagine" what they thought when he heard this song?

    Paul was the best Beatle!

  • Turn this song up loud! Paul is singing his heart out. My favorite song this is. Wings Over America Tour!

  • I'll go out on a limb and say this is one of the greatest songs of all time. This version is exceptional! love live versions. Whoh-whoh-whoh-whoh-whoh-whoh!

  • This is the best version in my opinion...although they are all great :)

  • Jimmy Nichols guitar work on this version of this song is by far the best anyone ever did, and there's been some great guitar players perform this song. He was the man.

  • whos jimmy nichols??

  • Oops, I meant Jimmy McCulloch. Sorry.

  • May Jimmy, Linda, John and George rest in peace.

  • Jimmy Nicol was Ringo's replacement in The Beatles after he collapsed of tonsillitis.

  • Very nice!

  • If this video was made by you, it's a great video from a great song. But if this is actually as you say "Wings Over America single promotion Video", i must say this version (the original one) wasn´t made at all by wings. They should have put a live version. Anyway, good pictures over here. Peace.

  • This is the "Live" version from 1976. This isn't the studio version from the "McCartney" album 1970.

  • Yes, yes. You are so right. The point is i have been listening this version since 1976 and i thought it was the original one. I realized that one second after i did press "post comment". I felt and feel as if i'm wearing a tuxedo with the fly open in front of everybody. What can i say.... It¡s a great song, isn't it?? Cheers.

  • No problem my friend, I've done it many times myself :-)

  • there aint no maybe- love is amazing--xo

  • I also forgot

  • forgot how much i like this song

  • Great vocal you wont here better and how good is little jimmy mc cullochs solos what a waste of talent.wings over america rocks!

  • wow! im a girl and i wanna be just like him! carla marten was here 2007- that will be famous one day (hopefully!)

  • Far far far better than the studio version. This is the version I grew up with...when I heard the studio version, it sounded tinny. This is a great production.

  • ...this is a classic :)

  • I'm still amazed!

  • one of the greatest love songs of all time, no question about that.

  • I second that. Simply beautiful.

  • this is also for joe , a beautiful love song...and perfect for us

  • I'm really impressed by this performance! He actually screams his lungs out!! He gives it hundred percent!!

  • It's not like Paul to skip high notes', but in this song he always skips the hard bit "maybe you're the only woman who could ever help me". The other stuff he sings is top class. It's good he at least tries to do the hard bit here, at the ening minute of the song.

  • maybe ot's yoyou, or mayzie, or that dawg that lost the truth, when it all came down to it. it's mayzee, i love mayze, dawg.

  • The best in the history. Thanks Paul
