Charice has a good range, but I don't think the rest of her voice is that unique, the way she makes the note resonnating is not unique unlike Celine, her vibrato is always the same, Celine vibrato can be very fast or slow. All she has is good chest voice range, which every singer can have with training.

charice voice has already developed and is beautiful. Her voice so high, 2 notes higher than celine ,tho celine a bit more melodious. But charice can hold her ground and perform more beautifully that celine.It's only because she is a filipino, that's hard for people who has no open mind to accept.
Charice has a husky voice...she a great singer no doubt. But she is not Celine Dion.
Some versions of certain songs sound better with different artists, and I have to admit Charice's version of Alone fits much better than any other singer...
However, this does not make Charice "better" than Celine as you would believe.

MANY can sing those low notes but the high notes are very difficult to achieve without breaking once voice. If you listened to what David Foster said in the link I provided below (middle part), he designed that song for Celine where there's a ridiculously high big note in it. If you noticed in this grammy performance, she couldn't sustain the big note part around 2:49 and there's some straining in it. Celine still did it well at that time. But today, Charice totally slayed this song. ;)

I agree w/you that Charice sang it way better than anyone has - but this song was NOT written for Celine. She was only a kid when this song came out.

Some versions of certain songs sound better with different artists, and I have to admit Charice's version of Alone fits much better than any other singer...
However, this does not make Charice "better" than Celine as you would believe.
I'm asian and I love to seeing an asian succeed, but Celine is a once in a 100 years talent.
Celine's finesse and pitch is unmatched.

She can even sing chipmunks. LOL. Oh I just learned lately the she sang one of the chipmunk songs in the Alvin & the Chipmunks movie Part 2. There's a YouTube video of her making different voices. Simply amazing.

MANY can sing those low notes but the high notes are very difficult to achieve without breaking once voice. I love Celine but unfortunately she's having a hard time sustaining high notes w/o falsetto. Also, Charice sings with so much passion that you will feel GOOSEBUMPS EFFECTS whenever she sings these type of ballad songs.That's why she always gets a lot of standing ovations when she performs.

If you listened to what David Foster said in the link I provided below (middle part), he designed that song for Celine where there's a ridiculously high big note in it. If you noticed in this grammy performance, she couldn't sustain the big note part around 2:49 and there's some straining in it. Celine still did it well at that time. But today, Charice totally slayed this song. ;)

And actually, if you know anything about singing you will know that you can have perfect technique, belt in the proper way, and handle big notes and still SUCK. Because you have to be born with a beautiful, distinctive voice for people to notice you and want to listen to you. @felo4444 en todos los videos sale que eso es una high nota y la nota mas alta de pecho de mariah es un A5 segun tu porque yo no he visto ningun video que lo compruebe la de celine es un c6 Y LO MEJOR ES QUE FUE RECIENTE lo que quiere decir que aun lo puede hacer celine solo con voz de pecho hace de un b2 a un c6 mariah tiene 5 octavas pero usando whistle porque en voz de pecho tiene menos que celine y es algo que no lo puedes discutir porque es cierto!!!!!!

y por supuest que si celine ha usado su voz mucho menos que mariah y con gran diferencia porque no produce tanto como ella,entonces su voz tiene que estar mas reposada y conservada,No? ademas mariah tiene nodules en la garganta que le salieron cuando fue internada cuando tuvo su nervous breakdown y comenzo a fumar hasta casi perder toda la voz.Lo sabias???

@esteban55200 celine no puede hacer whistles porque no sabe.mariah en realidad los hace desde niña gracias a que puede utilizar una parte de las cuerdas vocales que la mayoria de nosostros no podemos usar porque no tenemos la capacidad para hacerlo como tampoco la tiene celine. eso esta en una entrevista dicho por ella misma y lo que le decia su madre cuando hacia esto desde pequeña.esta info la puedes encontrar en wikipedia the free enciclopedia en ingles.

@esteban55200 su voz estaba cansada en ese tiempo y no era por lo del whistle sino por el continuo trabajo.no te olvides que mariah ha sido una maquina escribiendo canciones y sacando albumes.de hecho el año pasado saco dos y en el disco de navida la voz esta muy mejorada.dicho por ella misma:si no reposa y duerme lo suficiente,no puede cantar bien. y en cuanto a lo de la voz cansada en 1998,la respuesta la da whitney en presencia de mariah y publico en la entrevista que les hicieron en Oprah

@felo4444 es para ayudar a hacer una alta nota o matices y mariah no puede cantar ninguna cancion sin mover las manos en cambio celine todos los tonos altos los hace parecer tan faciles gracias a su excelente tecnica ve el video es muy bueno tonos extremadamente altos que ni aretha franklin los puede hacer osea un C6 eso va a quedar para siempre en la historia de la musica a y celine tambien gasto mucho su voz en los 90 pero igual daba exelentes resultados lo demostro en divas live

@esteban55200 Mariah Carey's "UNACKNOWLEDGED" Notes es es una clase de notas vocales. si celine puede utilizar el whistle al menos podria haberlo hecho en una cancion que por una cancion no se le iba a dañar la voz. y en cuanto a lo de la high note tenias razon el que utilizo el termino errado fui yo porque trataba de concentrarme en los whistles de mariah que son high y super high notes.
