I wanted to love this game but i just don't, in all the classic street fighter games every character had their own level, and you fought them in their own level & the music was relevant to the country the level is based in, but now its all random, you fight anybody anywhere and the music is just messy, and there is not enough fighting arenas, the characters share many of the levels, so lazy of capcom!
In all fighting games, it is best for the beginers to play as the protagonists(Ryu,Jin,Akira,etc.) because they always have the easy move-lists and they sometimes are cheap and overpowerd.

Changing too much will leave it a different game, and they got other series like Darkstalkers or Capcom VS. Whatever for that. Besides, look at GTA, Need for Speed, MMOs, FPSes... so many franchises that keep churning out the same crap over and over but most aren't even half as successful and iconic as SF, my man.

Im a long time Street fighter fan and as much as it pains me to say this...your right. Street fighter 4 is terribly balanced. It is, in my opinion, the worst in the series. Street figher 3 was excellent; It had perfect character balance and a parry system so that all spammers would get completely screwed by the skilled players. The problem is that Capcom went for mass appeal and ruined the game. If 4 was based 3, it would be great. Instead, they made a Ryu & co. spamming contest.

Fantastic looking game, but I don't like it. It's too classic for me (i know that was the intention), but after playing the alpha series, xmen vs capcom, etc. I was use to the speed, blocking in air, etc, that I didn't want to play back classic SF. I also didn't like how short the super moves are and easy to avoid. Played bout 40 mins, not for me.
I don't know whether to get this to my PS3 or 360. I have about half as many 360 games but the d-pad on the 360 is shit and usually the d-pad is better for fighting games.
definitely get it for the PS3 man. you'll see why after you complete the character trials. which if you got the 360 version, would be MUCH harder to do.
I thought I was the only one who thought that. Garuda was one of the best characters in Street Fighter EX and one of the best bosses in a fighting game.

Brawl is a far less serious game but is still really fun (my favorite game)

i agree. i just got this game today. its an excellent fighting game but i get a good handle on the combat half the time then other times i get my butt kicked like crazy. i never played any of the other ones so i not familiar with the moves or characters. this is a great game for those who love streeet fighter

No, you dont need an joystick to play that game... I use only the anolog sticks of my controller and I can play it normally... BTW, I use Chun Li... It might get some time to get used to the sontrols, but the joystick ISNT a must to play properly.

The arcade stick is about 80 bucks and if u play this game a lot or fighting games in general then I highly suggest u buy one. It made me a lot better very quickly after the purchase.

I threw away my son's Street Fighter 4 video game into the trash because I don't want Justin growing up to become a violent criminal with fighting skills he learned from this dangerous game. Here in my town, I am trying to get other concerned parents together who go to my church to have this game immediately removed from local retail outlets. This game is very dangerous and must be banned.
I don't think your kid will learn how to shoyruken anyone from this game. Many of kids grew up with this game and nothing happen. Ultimately the children's values and personality rely on the parents. So if the child becomes a criminal it's no ones fault but yours.
But, it doesn't have the nostalgia factor. This game will never be a classic. All you guys who have never heard of Street Fighter before, go and play Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike. The shitty mechanics of this games, made the players shitty. SF used to be non-stop action, great fun. But if you play online against a person with 2,500 BP or more, you'll understand why Street Fighter just fun anymore. SF3 FTW.

Play online and face fighters like Ken, Ryu, Sagat and Zangief. You wont fight other characters online because most ppl are frightend of losing.

The arcade stick is about 80 bucks and if u play this game a lot or fighting games in general then I highly suggest u buy one. It made me a lot better very quickly after the purchase.

sagat is lgendary in th gam trust me i'm getting online tommorow and watch i'll beat everyone... i'll tell you one of my moves.... - you do that mov where you kick the back of the knee so they just limp forward thn i use the tiger knee thing and blast them forward at the same time i can hit the up... later on i can charge for the ultra and go good.... i might button mash for 10 seconds lol and 15 if your seriously good

I threw away my son's Street Fighter 4 video game into the trash because I don't want Justin growing up to become a violent criminal with fighting skills he learned from this dangerous game. Here in my town, I am trying to get other concerned parents together who go to my church to have this game immediately removed from local retail outlets. This game is very dangerous and must be banned.

I don't think your kid will learn how to shoyruken anyone from this game. Many of kids grew up with this game and nothing happen. Ultimately the children's values and personality rely on the parents. So if the child becomes a criminal it's no ones fault but yours.

Yes, this game is good looking.
Yes, it has evolutionary new gameplay.
But, it doesn't have the nostalgia factor. This game will never be a classic. All you guys who have never heard of Street Fighter before, go and play Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike. The shitty mechanics of this games, made the players shitty. SF used to be non-stop action, great fun. But if you play online against a person with 2,500 BP or more, you'll understand why Street Fighter just fun anymore. SF3 FTW.

for me i think there are a few different ways to make a good fighter game but for me i tend to like simplistic with easy to do speicals, well balenced, cool charicters, and good art direction.
