  • I watched this yesterday not knowing I'd need it today.

  • I never thought of it like that, but I agree that fear makes you do whatever you have to to save yourself but love makes you save others, too. And when she was saying we should put on the different garments of love, it reminded me of the Bible when it talks about put on the whole armour of God, and God is love, so...it just went well with that scripture. The singing...it's different, but I think it's a little creepy. I don't know anything about her so I don't understand it too much.

  • This video was meaningful in a way that love is a powerful emotion and feeling and it is important for us to love even those that we do not favor.

  • That was such a powerful description of love and how its crucial for people to understand what the meaning of love. She made love into something that is needed in life and how love can be used to heal differences. This explanation of love really helped me see what the meaning of life is and its importance in resolving issues that were often tainted with fear.

  • The idea that love is so crucial in maintaining and saving our society, is really inspiring. I don't really understand the singing in the middle, but i understand the meaning.

  • I felt connected to the story plot and I began to put love on my sleeves. Love is a beautiful emotion and is a stronger element than fear. Only through fear can we feel oppressed and feel left out. -gebria b

  • I didn't necessarily like this poem but I did enjoy how she made love seem like a person; giving it arms, legs, and hands to emphasize how we as a people need it.

  • This poem shows how love can be so effective in changing others, yourself, and society.

  • I like the repetition in this piece. I like the way she infused song in this poem. The message in this poem actually brings to light the fact that she was a Harlem Renaissance poet because she was all about peace and harmony.

  • She is very good at emphasizing her focal point in her poems through repeating and "singing" certain words. I like her uniqueness.

  • 'Love will make us also save our own lives; but it will also make us save other peoples lives too'

Loving someone is such a powerful emotion, it has the power and ability to change the world.

  • Just beautiful work! "Put on the Sleeves of L♥ve!"

  • I see what Ms. Fabien was saying in class, how Sanchez sometimes "sings" her words. The way she speaks really says something about the words, and how she possibly feels about them as well. Feeling and presentation is everything in poetry. -Emmy C.

  • At first I watched this and thought it was a interview or something but as i continue to hear her speak i can tell shes actually just reading a poem. Just the way she can change the tone of her voice in her poems is amazing.

  • This is a poem; it's a stream-of-conciousness-type of poem, I think. She makes a very valid point, that you must completely emerce yourself in love, that love is beautiful and that love is stronger than fear and can move people more than fear can.

  • When first listening to this, I thought she was just talking to someone as in interview. However, when listening to it again, she was actually reading her poem. I noticed her excessive use of repetition, and it helps compel her in defining her meaning in each thing she says. She says that love is the cure - the way she repeats love many times. There is such a positive message in this video, in her poem. Putting on the sleeve of love means: letting love guide you; become better person.

  • You can really feel the emotion and thought she puts not only into her work but her everyday life. I like this piece too because of the positive message she is sending. I can't tell if this is an actual poem or her just speaking but it doesn't really matter because she is able to make a very important point. I also get the feeling that even when not reading a poem she speaks extremely poetically. - Stoia

  • Using her most common theme: love. This isn't a poem though, is it? It doesn't seem to be...I feel like it's more of a discussion. It's beautiful though. Her words are powerful and true: "love yourself and others"...
