  • I tried Bokashi this winter. It's spring and I am growing green beans in the area I did it. I was amazed at how fast the stuff broke down. I agree this is better than composting. Thanks for sharing this.

  • I am excited about the Bokashi process and just started to make my own innoculant. Making compost piles when you have lots of daily kitchen waste is not doable, unless you live on a farm with all sorts of other material available. I would like to know just how good the soil is after full decomposition of buried fermented products. Have you examined the amount of mycorrizhae or other beneficial micro-organisms that it promotes.

    We've examined the changes in soil composition comparing before and after nutrient levels in measurable KPN and have also identified in the tea specific well known plant growth stimulants in the mix of volatile fatty acids and other materials formed in the metabolic breakdown. 

    The nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus test results show great improvements when fermented product is allowed to interact with soil microbes. We are currently collecting data on soil and plants.

  • Good video, but the camera work is super annoying. The movement is clumsy and noisy.

  • I recently started with bokashi & am now fermenting my first bucket. It's good to see what the finished product will look like. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this will do for my garden. Thanks for the info.
