In Clutterbuck's defense, that was obviously accidental. But that's also an epic fail on his part for failing to hit Lapierre and hitting the linesman instead.
The problem with this video is that it does not show the entire altercation. The linesman in particular had restrained Clutterbuck and continued to restrain him as Lapierre initially attempted to dump Cal into the Vancouver bench. Not excusing the punches, but the Linesman made the entire altercation worse by restraining the one who was not the aggressor. If anyone deserve additional punishment, it would be Lapierre, not Clutterbuck.

This could have been avoided because after Clutterbuck was upended, LaPierre was talkin shit to him. I know this because it happened right in front of me section 115 row 6. Then all hell broke loose and well the rest is shown in the video. LaPierre tries to put Cal in the Canuck bench and he tries to defend himself and happen to hit the official unintentionally.

This could have been avoided because after Clutterbuck was upended, LaPierre was talkin shit to him. I know this because it happened right in front of me section 115 row 6. Cal tried skating away but LaPierre kept holding him back and tryin to start shit. Eventually Brodziak came in and tried to defend him. Then all hell broke loose and well the rest is shown in the video. LaPierre tries to put Cal in the Canuck bench and he tries to defend himself and happen to hit the official unintentionally.
