The guitar was being picked up both by the onboard mics of the Zoom, and it was also plugged into the 1/4" jack. This was recorded in 4CH mode and mixed after the fact. In hindsight, the guitar was too loud in the mix, but I do like the sound of it.
The vocal reverb was added in post production. The room is treated for acoustics, no has no natural reverb coming off of the walls.
I've found that the H4N's built in condensers are more than adequate for recording vocals. The condensers can be set in either a 90 degree or 180 degree pattern, and they pick up very strongly within a 3-4 foot radius. I've been recording a lot of 3 part harmony stuff with 3 singers and the clarity is incredible.
this is great my friend any chance that you can tell me what chords you are playing?

did you mic the guitar only through the xlr input? reason why I ask is that your voice is diminished in relation to the guitar.
thanks for posting the d90 + h4n combo

Well my only issue was that your voice was catching the echoes in the room rather than having an isolated tone that the guitar had (mic'd)
i wanted to know how the audio quality was straight out of the zoom h4n. i guess you really need a microphone

Very cool rendition! I like how you played it in your own style and your vocal is great! I also do a stripped down solo version of this. 5*****
