Lol, that "turn right in 172 miles" was hilarious. I prefer maps to an RNS (road navigation system... e,.g Tom Tom)... RNS's are just too dangerous sometimes.

Next time you are there you have to go to Cafe Du Monde and get a beignet. You haven't lived. New Orleans has some of the greatest food and people, you just have to know where to look.
