DID THAT IDIOT JUZ SAY "U Hear Her Voice, When U Hear Beyonce"?? SIR...., U Obviously Need 2 Sit In A Corner And Listen 2 Her Music Carefully. Now Vesta & Lisa Fisher.... 'No Doubt'.
I have to say that Chaka is the mother of all voices. I remember an article back in 1989 in Rolling Stone where "Madonna" said "I love her voice~I love her voice" So many accolades and praises from all of her peers and fans is it any wonder why Quincy Jones calls her Americas premier vocalist!! She can sing anything and make anything sound good. The woman is brilliant!!
Chirrens now,now-Chaka's Khan-Klones r legion! I've heard even Shirley Brown ape her on U Got To Love What U Do & Urgent! C C Peniston,Angie Winbush,Adaritha,Tawatha Agee,Anita Baker,Renee Diggs,Sharon Bryant,Sharon Redd,Penny Ford,Martha Wash,Angie Stone,Betty Wright,Teena Marie,&Faith Evans,Princess,& the list goes on & on!These r just some of the Black female singers who have been ifluenced by her-not including White & male singers.Helen Lowe(Baylor) in my opinion has aped better than any1!!!
SMFH @ "You hear (Chaka's) voice when you hear Beyonce"! I'm not sure why that guy choose to insult Chaka on what was supposed to be a tribute to her? You hear Chaka's voice when you hear Vesta, Yes. Meli'sa Morgan, YES. Pennye Ford, YES. Beyonce, HELL NO!
The only singer Chaka really has ever aknowledged as really sounding like her is the girl that sang lead on Tom Browne's"Jamaica Funk'. As a matter of fact Chaka was so impressed by her that she tried to get her to sing background for her when she toured ,but unfortunetly the girl couldn't be contacted.
Ah yes, Toni Smith! That was the best Chaka impersonation I've ever heard. She was an excellent singer. I wish she would've sang background for Chaka and had more success. You hear flashes of Chaka in Vesta, Meli'sa and Pennye but each of those women do have their own styles. I would've liked to have heard more of Toni.
