Jennifer Holiday IS ONE OF THE BEST female singers of ALL TIME! To all of you who criticize her vocal delivery today; lets see how much voice you'll have after singing with that level of intensity passion and grit after one night; let alone thousands of performances over the span of 25 years! The ending was not as strong as twenty years ago, but as its been said already on this page, the woman is getting up there.
However, the woman still sounds damn strong and quite good. If you don't believe it, listen to it again and notice how the crowd cheers and cheers for more as it goes on. I think that alone speaks volumes about this performance.
Jennifer must be in her 40s or even 50s. And let me be the first to tell you, she did pretty damn good. After 20 years of singing one of the toughest songs to sing in the music biz, Holliday is still head and shoulders above (before 100%, now about 95%) of the female artists working today. You go.

hear her on stage in her own show and youll change your thought..shes still the one.thats a recording and if you have followed her even on videos from here youll see...she has sang the song this way for years even in the 80s and 90...just check it out
Best female singer in the world and always will be. I wish she would perform more and put out a new album.

She could still be putting out music if any decent producer knew what to do with her vocals.
People forget when she was in Dreamgirls she was 20-21 years old when she started. She was a kid.
