  • Don't buy a Traeger!!! The used to be made in Oregon, then they got greedy and shipped everything to China. Makes me sick. Go for the Louisiana Grill. It's made in Canada, but at least that's still North America. Get any grill built in the USA!! They also have a bad auger/burn pot design. Several times I have had the pellets burn back in the auger tube into the hopper. Bad news.

  • How has the smoke flavor been on your Traegar. Coming from a log smoker I am skeptical on buying one since many have said the smoke taste is minimal. How have yours been with smoke flavor?

  • Very nice. I've made back ribs using a honey apricot glaze that came out pretty good. Hope you'll take a look sometime. Thanks for a great video!

  • Awesome. Traegers are the best, I've used tons of grills and would never go back!

  • maaaan that looks tasty!! I am a WSM/Kamado man but Traeger is next on my list!!

  • Great quality video. I like your presentation. Can I borrow your car this weekend?

  • Great quality video. I like your presentation. Can I borrow your car this weekend?

  • Never have smoked anything that long but I'll bet its worth the wait. Nice job.

  • Did you put enough shit on those poor ribs. Nice car though

  • Did you put enough shit on those poor ribs

  • @1:00 hello, '69 Camaro?! Great ribs, great grill, and great car. Thanks for the video! (I just got a Traeger Texas to keep my Stingray company)

  • Good looking ribs, man. Tempted to fire up my Traeger.

  • Look awesome great job I have a Brinnmans offset Dig the channel good job -Jason

  • Great video I enjoy all your videos and have picked up a lot of tips. Thanks!

  • @meknewxenu Ill give that a try thx alot sounds good

  • Just bought a Traeger. Ribs look great. What are the 2 foil pans under your cooking rack?

  • @travis1947 This time it is just water, it adds moisture to the cooking camber.

    What model did you get?

  • Yeah great you got the faegger grill so where's the smoke at?

  • 4hrs smoking then how long do you cook them in foil?? and how long open in the foil with sauce on and at what temp??

  • @Cletus32261 It was 7hrs total cook time, this time. thanks for watching

  • @Cletus32261 when I do mine in the Traeger I cook them at 275 for 90 mins then 20-30 mins wrapped in foil I put sauce, apple cider vinegar and a little more brown sugar on then. Then I take them out mop them with sauce, put them back in, turn off the smoker and let the residual heat create a lacquer on the ribs.

  • @Cletus32261 Typically you would do the 3-2-1 method for tender ribs. You smoke for 3 hrs, wrap in foil for 2 hrs and then another 1 or 2 hrs on the smoker unwrapped until they are done.

  • @jaswaltersgmail thx i'll give it a try

  • does it absolutely require pellets? what about wood chips?

  • @11you11 The Traeger uses wood pellets that are feed to a fire pot using an auger, wood chips very to much in size. If you have a gas or charcoal grill then I would use wood chips. thanks for watching

  • great video man.. You're one of the reasons i bought a Traeger.. My name is Don from Newfoundland Canada and all i have to say is WOW.. I can't get enough of your recipes...

  • I think the membrane should be removed. beside that, that is how I make ribs on my traeger too!

  • what temp to you keep the smoker at when the ribs are in the foil?

  • @darndy 300-350 and make sure the foiled is sealed and watch out for the sharp bones tearing holes.

  • Never boil ribs! Brian is right, all that would be good for is gravy! Great vid Brian.

  • @jimkerr7 I so agree with you... NEVER boil. As @fallfly1 said, if that is desired, I would recommend using a beer brine base or mop instead. Reason is because boiling removes the meat juices (natural) flavors.

  • Great video Thanks for the help :)

  • watching your vids are making me more relaxed on using my own Traeger grill. I am getting more confidant too. I can see that this is a learned art form. Will continue watching your vids for some good teachings. Thanks for showing this.

  • What's with the background noise? Soundsl like a hive of killer bees are about to attack?

  • @mickeyl01

    its the traeger grill

  • Great looking ribs. How much do you want for the camaro?

  • man I'm from chicago and that looks better then antyhing i've ever seen! I Gotta HAVE ONE! OH YEA LOOKS GREAT!

  • Look like some very tasty backs. Absolutey love my Traeger; use it all the time, for everything. Today it's fired up for some Apple City Baby Back Ribs, recipe from the Jamison cookbook "Smoke &Spice". I highly recommend this book for some great smoker recipes.

BTW, in addition to your ribs and the '69 in the garage, I'm also diggin' on the "Ballad of Dwight Frye" in the background tunes. Haven't heard that Cooper song in years...

    Bon Appetit!

  • These units run on electricity

  • Does this run on electric are gas? THANKS!

  • Brian,

Followed along, fire up on smoke, increase to 300, ribs on, back to smoke. 1st concern was when temp dropped to 157-160 after an hour at that setting. Increased to 180, temp now 205. On for 4 hours, foil for 2 at 275. Conclusion, flavor profile excellent, smoke ring excellent. Would like more bite to the meat. Reduce initial smoke time or time in foil. Thanks

  • Brian,

How long in the foil please....my Traeger gets delivered tomorrow...season on Saturday....Rib Fest on Sunday.

  • 2-3 hours? Sounds like a kick ass weekend!!!!

  • Brian, could you comment more on the seasoning you use

  • Great ribs, smoked last night. Anyway is that a 1969 camaro in the garage.

  • I should have answered you the 1st time you asked, yes it is. Check out my other videos. thanks for asking & watching.

  • boil em in beer first, leave the membrane and smoke for 6-8 hours.

  • @fallfly1 What do then make a gravy, thats were all the flavor at?? lol

  • @BrianEibner Haha, I just read that comment about boiling. Only english people boil their meat. Smokin is the best IMO.

  • @fallfly1 never boil ribs, thats a rookie mistake, unless u want to make pork stock LMAO

  • @fallfly1 try this instead.

I would recommend using a beer brine base or mop. Reason is because boiling removes the meat juices (natural) flavors.

  • im friends with the treagers.. my dad went to high school with them in Gervis Oregon back in the 70's.. they are great BBQ's i own a Junior(smalll tailgate grill) and a Lil' Tex.. Stellar bbqs my friend

  • Man, those ribs look great! I am concerned about one thing though. I don't see much smoke. How much smoke do these things put out? Could two of them smoke an old empty 225 gallon propane tank?

  • Thanks for the 411 on the pellets

I am looking into buying a Traeger, and fuel will be important.

  • Well done Brian. I always like to see how people do ribs. A buddy of mine bought a Traeger similar to yours and his ribs are absolutely top notch.

  • Brain have to compared the Traeger Smoker to the louisiana pellet smokers?? just wondering how they compare. i do the like the digital thermasta on yours, i didint see that on the louisiana brand. by the way your ribs there looked fantastic.

  • I looked at smokers that were available locally which were the Louisiana & Traeger then decided on the Traeger. Don't remember the reasons why but I am very happy with the Traeger. It didn't come with the digital thermostat it was about $200 for the 180. They also sell one that only goes down to 225.

  • Not to happy with Traeger pellet though, I don't notice a difference in flavor or the look of them (I hear they are mostly oak). I buy pellets from The Other Outdoor Store which is about 30 miles from my house. They are 100% what they say they are & you can see and taste the difference. Although they sell out very fast & I have been waitng for a week to get some, they are around $25 for a 40 pound bag. I included a shot of them in my beef jerky video.

  • If anybody else knows of better pellet please inform us.

  • is that a camaro in the garage?!!

  • yea 69 Z28 check out my other videos and will be posting more
