I have to say that the two guys who handled the changes and read the comments did almost everything people asked them to do. Transparencies was a BIG one especially for those of us who make our own backgrounds. Rating and commenting from the front page was big too. I like that YTube listened and responded positively to suggestions.

The new design really all that bad - once they started incorporating suggestions, I was pretty much OK with it. The transparency is what did it for me.
