  • The Copa, Backstreets, Yum Yum Tree, Zodiac, Parliament House, Club 21.....good times

  • Oh yes, this was a must dance song when at the disco, we all loved that little slow dance interlude before the disco music was unleashed. Too bas she didn't have more songs, she could have been as big as Donna Summer, then again nobody was as big as Donna. :-)

  • This song first debuted on fire island. During the birth of gay rights. You better thank us gays because without us this song would of never made it <3

  • cousin Flori thought he was so cool in the 70s...he thought the french girl at his job was saying 'come to me ' in her native language..instead she was telling him to 'kiss her ass'..wild 70s, man

  • Amazin' how disco songs could still hit the American top 40, even after Disco Demolition night, in Jul. '79.

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • definately a classic disco icon

  • Studio in N.Y.C, City Hall in Caracas.

  • Disco music in its prime!

  • Tu parle d'un bon temps au quebec!!!!When France was a hit Quebec was the best place to be...along with some other great singers like Ginette Reno..as far as Celine is concern SHE IS NOT QUEBEC"S DIVA...like most of u would bleive..GINETTE is..The best album Celine came up with UNISON back n the early 90's

  • that is music..................nice........

  • THIS SONG, AND THIS WOMAN ALWAYS BE A LEGEND...

  • This made me feel on top of the world-ray.

  • France hit #15 in Billboard, 11-17-79. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Did France learn the song phonetically, or, did she already know the English, since they speak French in Quebec. Somebody let me know. God bless ya, for your efforts.

  • @DaveWollenberg As I have been to Quecbec many times, I'm quite sure France Joli was bi-lingual, as most Quebecois are. Although French was surely her primary language, she was probably also fluent in English, since she worked with English speaking music producers regularly.

  • @siroptimistic Thanx for lettin' me know. Have a sweet week!

  • @DaveWollenberg welll i dont know about France, but I'm a french canadian from Montreal... and yes we mostly speak french in this province but most of us know English pretty well too. It's normal here to be bilingual.

  • HOLY BEJESUS! I haven't heard this since I was in grade school!

  • This girlie is definitely underrated.

  • when your world is empty and cold............

  • one of the best disco songs ever made. luv this song, so many memories

  • Fantastic> Dance< Master Piece....and to think....that this pure raw talent had been almost lost in the mix of that time....So many great female artist were on the scene. Donna Summer, Olivia Newton John, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Linda Ronstadt......and the movies too...Grease , Saturday Night Fever,......wow

  • Naomi, you didnt dissapoint, this is a classic and I appreciate the fact that you have facilitated me the pleasure of listening to it once again

  • My 2nd favorite disco song.

  • awsomeeeeeeeee the meaning of DISCO!!!

  • The sound quality is astonishingly good!

    The song too..

  • what a lovely, lovely, dreamy song to dance to in the arms of your love

  • SHAKE IT, SHAKE IT, SHAKE IT ON THE DANCE FLOOR!

  • I dedicate this the memory of warren van bommel of NYC , taken too soon in those dark days before aids even had a name

  • Это просто оргазмично!!! Настоящая музыка....чувства....душа......всё поёт и летает......Невозможно описать!!! И красава вокалистка........Диско - всё же....кто бы что не говорил - это самая настоящая музыка!!!!

  • this song was the most requested tune for last call at the discos on rush street in the 70s

  • @RonyMexico Chartwise, this song was a victim of very bad timing: when so much of the public was sick & tired of disco (Sept. '79), it peaked in the Billboard charts. I was much too young for Rush Street, but it must've been one blast after another.

  • @MadameLil never looked at the timing issue that way, i kinda liked it myself, but you're probably right

  • i love her in this picture

  • I've loved this song since I was 11. GREAT memories of happier times... The decadent 80s!!! =D RIP STUDIO 54...... GOOD TIMES!

  • /watch?v=N33sLWWJFOU

    THIS SONG WILL MAKE SINCE

  • Great memories of my friend Danny who AIDS took too young

  • 素晴らしい

  • 素晴らしい

  • el video,no importa; lo excitante es la MUSICA..!

  • always loved this song. Wonder what sh's doing now

  • come to me

    when u someone to hold ! that i love u and i want u

  • This is another of those great songs I remember from Roller Disco Night at the local skating rink. I put a million miles on my skates to this one.

  • THIS DEFINETLY IN MY ERA, I LOVE THIS SONG......

  • and on 0:59 we were all running on the dance floor - thx to all people who are uploading the Disco hits of the 70th !

  • This song was the "Disco-Days" Love it!

  • i bet she was a good lay in the 70s.....:)

  • @teehonky It's ALWAYS refreshing when one comes across a person who thinks with his penis or her vagina. It makes one believe in the nobility of humankind...

  • HUSTLE,, THIS ALL I THING ABOUT IN THE DISCO FLOOR

  • @MOJAY35 That's amusing... :-) It seems lines dances in general are more or less alike. "The Hustle", "The Stroll", "The Madison", "The Electric Boogie", "The Achy Breaky" are all about the same. Ilike DOING them, but if you learn one, you can learn the rest quite easily...

  • Naomi0111..Don't apologize, if the person has a problem of this not being a video then they need 2 check in an asylum...thanx 4 posting this classic jam.

  • great song of the 70's !!!

  • Comin from a perspective from the streets of NYc, ...goin to the parties and wherever her music was played, ..France Joli was and is was the perfect thing for that moment, .... what a great memory to take on the with me in the journey of my life.

  • If U love France Joli thumbs up

  • This is the LOWEST budget music video I've ever seen.

At least Grim Reaper spent SOME bucks on fire and pyrotechnics and stuf...

  • If I remember correctly, she was just a child when this song was released. What a magnificent voice she has!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Tony63909 I saw her at Madison Square Garden during the disco era. Oh could she sing! I often wonder where she is now and why we don't hear from her.

    Tina Marie my ass.

  • @urblhoops Hello urblhoops, I never had the honor of seeing her perform, but her voice made such an impression on me that I never forgot her and never ever will. Listening to her voice and seeing her face, what a wonderous and beautiful soul she must have.

  • @urblhoops Hello, You had asked me about a song by France Joli that you had trouble locating. I accidently deleted your mail. Can you give me that title again? It was you right? You are in San Antonio?

  • Maybe not a video. But music is about memories and I remember making love to my women many moons ago. Thaats all folks.

  • Reminds me of my very first love and coincidentally my very first heartbreak. Sigh. The 70's...who knew? LOL

  • She's intoxicating

  • that great !! disco rule !!

  • my wife and i had "after dinner " coffee with her almost every night for about 4 or 5 yrs what a nice lady

  • @thordoggie Any idea what she is up to now? Is she staying in Canada?

  • @urblhoops I did a little research on France and I found out that she became a victim of Disco's extinction..Her name was too closely associated with the genre and went down with it..What a shame. It just goes to show you how narrow minded a generation can be. France, if you ever look up the comments section of your music on Youtube. There are millions of people like myself who love you and will always appreciate your talents. GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sure is astounding, adn this song is SUPERB-- to hear here sing it in present day is JUST as amazing as I saw her last Summer in Boston! She still got those pipes goin for her!!

  • hey this is my babay can tou feel me but i lov e this song

  • i just remember acapulco on le dome disco dance club, ubq, boccacio many more omg great memories...is just back to the great time....tks

  • great disco sound of the 70s

  • Thanks for post this excellent song Naomi0111!

    =)

She doesn't have any star but she is a superstar by herself.

  • France....there's a lady out there claiming to be you....she dated my friend a few years my (deceased) wife saw her every day for almost 5 yrs and she fooled us!!!!

  • Hit #15 pop, #36 soul, #47 AC in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in Canada? Did France have to learn the song phonetically, since she's from Quebec, or did she know the English words already? France, if you read this, get back to me on it. God bless!

  • Thank you Noemi!

    I appreciate you sharing this!!!

    Love it!!

  • great song

  • A classic disco cut, and a debut hit for young Canadian, France Joli, who stormed the disco dance floors of the world with this floor filler on Prelude, who made many mixes and versions of this cut. I used the 12 inch mix, which ran for up to 9 minutes, though I'd mix out after 6 or 7 minutes. France Joli released at least two albums, and was sadly under rated. Thank you for sharing this classic with us here on YouTube, a worldwide disco Schlager. :-)

  • The song rocks...........

  • @hwydaddy i think you are right she was and is what you say i met her when i was a teen back in newyork inthe 70's i love this song thanks for sharing!

  • I don't think I'd call this a video....

  • Sorry to dissapoint.Least i upload.

  • @Naomi0111 Yes, and THANK YOU for uploading this classic. The audio on it is perfect.

  • @Naomi0111 I don't care about it not being "called a video." Thank you so much -- I haven't heard this song since I was a crazy teen. I haven't heard it in years. It brings back such wonderful memories. Thank you again.

  • @lilycomic this was great song to hustle

  • @Naomi0111 Forget them..I've been looking for this song for a while (years) and I'm always telling people the singer isn't Donna Summer. I should have looked here..Thank you for song and the picture of the artist..whom I have heard of but never write down her name.

  • @Naomi0111 its all good no worries..you brought back memories and uploaded a great song

  • Me and my best friend since the fourth grade drowned the car as loud as the stereo could put out when this song came on heading to West End 2 at Jones Beach where all us "Westchester"kids wen't in the summer.

  • Pop Can Hop!!!! Man this cut is one bad jam in club 54 and the star ship in N,Y C back in the day."Yeah Man"

  • great song thanks for sharing this video supper vijf*******stars

  • One of my best songs from the 70s. OMG so much joy and bliss while dancing this with my beautiful dress under all the disco lights. No millions can buy this. So blessed living this era.

  • "Marty&Lenny's" "The City" "Peachtree's" "Hoops" "Channel80" "Strawberry's""The Second Floor" "Oliver's" "January's" "Fudgies1&2" "The Milkyway" this is just Westchester County Clubs Iam Saluting!Manhattan Clubs we hit are too long to list but here's to the great Dj's and fog and mirrored walls, colored lights, and after 11:00p.m.the disco tracks that kept us jammed on the floor till closing.A great by gone era,I'll never forget!!!!!

  • I love this song. Thanks for posting it.

  • I remember when she played a little club in Bensonhurst Brooklyn called Romeo and Juliet on 86thst. This was the first club that she played in the U.S. and she was fantastic

  • what then you didnt live the Disco scene In New York city You put on your best clothes and Iam talking the Ruby Foo, the Cheetah, The Casa Blanca, The Boom bama cow AKA the boom boom room. The Palladium, Barney Googles, and of course the Studio The Hustle was alive

    What an era

  • OMG, I'm a 52 year lod women and this song brings back great memories.... It's amazing It's here.....

  • This brings back memories of Chaps in Boston. We had booked an artist to perform, but she got sick and canceled the day before the show. Ms France Joli, came to our rescue at the last minute. She took a train to Boston, and brought the house down! She a true professional and I got to meet her. She's as gracious as she is talented.

  • i remember the first time I heard this song playing on the radio in 1979 i was just coming home from school i thought it was Patsy Gallant. They've always sounded similar to me,

  • Dance floor all the way, baby!!!!!!!

  • i was a bartender at Backstreet Atlanta when she preformed there, and this song was just so Electric the moment she started singing........she is such a beautiful person.

  • This is one of the songs that were the very best of the disco era. Disco was much maligned in iots day (and even more so today) but there were many many songs that good singers could blast right into your heart and get you up and dancing (or in my case roller skating:-))

  • Circus Disco baby!!!

  • the best song of france joli

    congratulation

Back to disco the best time ever

    Afore00

  • one of the best song of the disco era

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • ooooooh!!!!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, Naomi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't know how long I've been looking for this wonderful song....and YES it was a dynamite dance cut...it you couldnt get down with this song, you couldn't dance! But I love the lyrics and her delivery. Again, many-many grateful thanks! :-)

  • Nice!

  • france is a highly under-appreciated vocalist, what a shame she was labeled just "another disco artist" she is so much more

  • She has a lovely voice, and sure knows how to put feeling into a song. This was one of her best, ever!

  • Can you believe that she was only 16 when she did this song? Great Voice and she still performs today.

  • The good vocalists are always iunder-appreciated.

  • @pulsatingdisco This 2010. Even "just another disco artist" is much better than the average pop artist nowadays LOL Hell, there were tons of one-hit wonders in the 70s and 80s that are more talented than 90% of pop artists nowadays ;-) Btw, France Joli was only 16 when she recorded this!
