  • So were you using solder to fix the hole?

I would not be using this cooler for long. Imagine the solder falls out for some reason (aging\heat\water\pressure).

You'd kill a highly expensive card o_o Try to get a full cover cooler.

Bad thing, you can't even sell the EK VGA Supreme cooler anymore. D:

  • @REDxFROG

It costed me 25€ so i don't care that much about selling it. As for the solder it is well soldered, I would believe the copper would wear 1st then the solder.

  • why did you kill it?

I don't see a reason for doing this

  • @REDxFROG

In order to get it working in a 7970 you need to do this

  • @st0nedPt hmm, no you don't. :/

If you need to fill the gap/space between the cooler and GPU, you can use copper/aluminum plates.

EK are selling plates/sheets exclusively for HD7xxx @ around 5$ or something like that.

Or you just make your own metal sheet and put it in.

Maybe they werent avaible at the time the video os made ?

The spacer will also diminuish cooling capability. I fixe the block shortly after the video though.

  • dude your temps must be awesome

  • I fixed it so it's working now :) Tested with some high pressure and is flawless :D

  • ouch...is it hurts much?
