I think the french made a mistake with the treaty of Versaille. They should have made a paragraph saying it is not allowed to make fun of them for sitting in holes and when that fails surrendering.

Don't forget, too, that the enormous losses of WW1, were still present in France, as it was only 22 years ago. Most of the fighting was on French soil, with entire devastated areas, and tremendous civilians and military casualties.German population, in 1914 and 1940, 70 millions,was almost twice the French population,40 millions.It's easier to fight, when you can put more men on the battlefields.But yes,German war machine and blietzkrieg was almost invincible at the start of WW2.

Germans crushed everyone, at beginning of WW2, included Soviets, who lost 4 million prisoners in the whole WW2. Decisive factor for Russian victory was their enormous territory, twize the size of USA. Even US troops were crushed in many occasions. Most of the job on western front was made by air forces, even if in some places, fights were harsh on the battlefields. like in Cassino, or DDAY 2 months battle. 80 % of German forces were destroyed on the ground, on eastern front.

Most of Wehrmacht went around Maginot line, but German units who tried to frontly attacked there, were slaughtered. Really amusing, the same dumb comments from some Anglosaxon impotent and brainwashed shitheads.

France made the "Maginot Line", which was a line of expensive fortifications of underground tunnels, etc. The Germans merely went around it amusingly.
