  • I have problems with the engine valves I do not know how At their supposed to be the engine to function properly.i hope that you can help me :)

  • the lever next to the spark plug is the kill switch

  • i love briggs & stratton motor;s

  • They used these engines on the old Webb cylinder mowers - they are really great, and reliable workhorses if they are well maintained.

  • i have the same engine mine was painted silver and black the thing starts second pull everytime

  • I have a 1978 briggs 2hp that sat outside for 15 years, I took it out changed the plug and the air filter then put fresh gas in it, Set the throttle because the linkage was broke and it started on the 3rd pull. amazing little motors

  • These make bitchin mini-bike engines. Slap a centrifugal clutch on it and away you go.

  • @blabblab1212 that they do i have a mini chopper with the same 3hp engine in check it out countryboy1534

  • @countryboy1534 Super Nice Mini Chopper! Did you build that yourself. If you did. Excellent job!

  • @blabblab1212 it was a 49cc 2 stroke with the fake engine up front and the little 49cc at the back tore it all out welded in a plate up front drilled out the holes for the engine and installed the engine and the rear mini drive axle that runs from the engine to the rear wheel

  • wich oil do you use?

  • i've got a similar engine, a 3hp Briggs just like that. Your cover looks a little different, check out my channel to see how mine turnt out after a little elbow grease.

  • sounded like it was idleing fine before he started tweaking it...

  • good runnin motor you got there. i got 1 that needs a new carb and im thinking of making some kind of manifold and putting dual 4.5 hp briggs carbs on it!

  • Comment removed

  • i have the same briggs i am having a problem with the fuel pump diaphram. is there one between the carb and tank? or only the on the side

  • @pimpinpenz only the side one, against the tank is just a gasket

  • dude what an idiot i am i had the same briggs engine as that but it was white and i threw it out a couple years back :(

  • It does have a kill switch, its just a metal tab. the tab next to the spark plug just shorts it out just like the screw driver, if you press it. runs good, briggs and stratton are the best but run like a timex they just keep on going.

  • I just picked up one just like this on a go cart frame and it runs real good too.

  • Take care of a briggs and keep its carb clean and you will almost always have a running engine.

  • woooow you are lucky to own a motor that runs that good! damn im working on one of thorse right now but it doesnt egnite... but im getting new parts today and hopefully get it start =) i we put new Piston in it and new Piston rings hope it start...

  • now THAT!!! is AMAZING!!! a 30-year old engine that had been sitting for approx, 10 years; all it took was a few "adjustments" and BAM!! it started and ran like it was brand new!!!; now if thats not proof that they really don't make things like they use to I dunno what is!!!! Cool video!!! :)

  • Good carbed B&S will always start with a bit of love and care.

  • Lol the mower I've been using that is less than a year old's motor just died the other day. Wish I had one of these!

  • Excellent man, That's why I stay with the old stuff myself. More reliable

  • I'm not surprised you got it to run. Briggs and Stratton has always made good motors that will work well with a little bit of very basic work.

  • so...ur not doing anymore games?

  • That is a nice little engine, I have a 3.5 from 68.
