  • been going through the series recently and i must say this is hands down my favorite opening of theirs partly because of the purple dressed lass

  • Apparently the Vogues weren't paid any royalties or even attributed to this song, at least that's what they said at their concert I was working at.

  • My favorite part is when Oswald, Kate, and Lewis keep popping up from behind the cubicle partition. Cracks me up every time.

  • Right on! Drew's got rhythm! Great blast! And, Drew's a former Marine! Once a Marine always a Marine! Congratulations Drew! GOD, Country, Corps. Semper Fidelis-Always Faithful! From a former combat Marine....

  • And who's the dancer in blue shirt and suspenders, at 1:39. Totally hot.

  • Drew Carey just fits this title.

    Augie7

  • There were 3 intros to this show.

  • I love this video, it makes me

    Happy

    Thanks

    Drew

  • The woman in the light blue dress is Katy Selverstone (listed on IMDB.com for the show). She played Drew's girl friend during the first season.

  • Guess how much Drew used to weigh back then. And the one who comes closest, without going over, wins the showcase!

  • OMG Is that pop-pop from Community?

  • What Happen to Shows like this They were GREAT!!!!!!!

  • 1 of the best tv show openings of all time.

  • man wish i worked at that office.

have a: Gay boss, Ryan Styles & Diedrich Bader as best friends

    Mimi Bobeck as a enemy

sounds like it would be a shit load of fun

  • This would be my new wake up song.

  • Nothing was better than the music & choreography titles and bits done during the episodes on The Drew Carey Show. I was so happy they did the episode where they're listening to the radio and then they show all of them!!

  • I used to watch this show late on Irish TV (RTE) every sunday night, around 1.00am as a teenager. I always hated the dread of school starting again on monday morning but this show (and more specifically) the intro soothed me into the week. For that, this clip will always be my blue-blankie.

  • And then "Moon Over Parma" plays. This was the teaser for the first episode of the second season if I remember correctly.

  • Superbly done, great choreography, and music. Big Drew has rhythm! Semper Fidelis Drew!

  • lol funny

  • damn, drew carey put some time and effort into his intros. not like some other lazy shows i could mention.

  • what a song, great show to go with, thanks for getting this on

  • I wake up to this each day

  • @birdyboy1961 Kristen Cloke

  • How can i get i job there they look like they love there job!!!!!

  • I just won a song battle for best work song because of this. w00t

  • I always preferred this intro to Cleveland Rocks.

  • The purple dress girl does it for me too. I love the way she dances at 1:37. Very hot. The panty shot on the girl in blue works very well too.

  • Do you mean at1:12? I thought that she came back as a love interest for Drew, but all of my research can't figure out who she is. Love the panty shot at 1:22 though.

  • Best intro ever.!

  • How great was that show and the beginning was the best and the song...OMG!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always liked the blonde lady with the glasses in the back seat of the car.

THANK YOU DREW CAREY for making one of the greatest videos.

And THANK YOU VOGUES for a wonderful song.

  • WTF HAPPENED TO SHOWS LIKE THIS. TIM ALLENS LMS IS LAST HOPE

  • The last golden days of the 20th century.

  • aw, i wish this was still on :( and that drew carey was fat again haha

  • Seeing mimi is a good way to kill that hard on drew got from that girl grinding on him

  • Ill take Drew Carey over Jersey Whores anyday.... Bring Back salute your shorts!!!

  • I love you Ryan Stiles!! He looks so young!

  • best intro ever!

  • drew carey knows a real good song when he heard this one.21 people don't have a 5 o'clock world.

  • I CANNOT watch this without smiling...I love how Kate, Oswald, and Lewis pop their heads out and sing the "Hey!" part in the background lol

  • I miss this show. Hilarious. Plus I'm from Cleveland so of course I'd like it :)

  • Nice! Who is the lady in the purple dress at 0:47? I need to know..........thank you

  • @korney69

Sorry, wish I could help. Perhaps someone else will know.

  • @langsense Okay thanks! She looks very familiar..........I'm thinking maybe on other tv shows in guest appearances such as Seinfeld etc. very attractive! Thanks again!

  • @langsense The dancers were all from the Cleveland Ballet, which then became the San Jose Ballet but that might help you out.

  • @langsense She's great, i've been loving her since ever............ :))

  • @korney69 exactly my question.. she is smoking!!

  • @patwardhanajay You got that right!!! Gonna search to find out who this mystery lady is!!! I'm on a mission!!!

  • @korney69 yes mate shes a babe, i always liked catching the start of the show for a perv on this goddess, she pops back up at 1:36 looking viciously sexy as she bops away, very pretty sexy lady , oh the show was great also :o) :o) :o)

  • @meeeee1968 Yes indeed.........a true goddess!!!

  • @korney69

I've been wondering that since the show was on. In fact, I found this video trying to find out after watching the time warp/groove thing number and it reminded me I never found out.... This was definitely better than the Moon over Parma intro.....

  • @rschantz Good call on the time warp/groove thing number.............Classic!!!

  • @korney69 Her name is Kristen Cloke and she played the ill-fated teacher in "Final Destination." Too bad, she is terrific.

  • @korney69 I always thought she looked like Debbie Dunning.

  • @SixFeetUndr101 yes mate very similar look, debbie was such a white hot goddess , suchhhhhh a sexy lady !!!!!!!!

  • @SixFeetUndr101 Thats what i was thinking myself The tool girl!!!!

  • @korney69 Dude, I know what you mean. I used to watch this when I was in high school, and used to think the same thing about that woman. When I just now watched this, I knew her part was coming up and got all excited. LMAO. I'm such a sad man.

  • @korney69 Katy Selverstone is her name. She played Drews girlfriend in the 1st season.

  • @korney69 KATY SILVERSTEIN

  • @gangesexcavating Okay.........will check it out! Thanks!

  • @korney69 She was so hot! I always wondered who se was too. Couldn't find her on the imdb page for the Drew Carey show.

  • @dfc99nyc Thanks for checking it out! Will keep searching!

  • @korney69 Hey Korney 69...you took my question..she is so hot!!! she was inspiration to watch the show. She appears again @ 1:40 dancing...hot she is...

  • @korney69 I need to know too! WOW!

  • Comment removed

  • @korney69 I think they addressed this question in a "special" episode of the show. They didn't give out her name, but she was a professional dancer (i.e. not an actress) and people were always asking about her even then.

  • the way drew walks and dances at the same time is the best xD

  • I miss my early childhood dammit!!

  • the youth of today r missing out

  • @CollapsedLung im 13 and its so true :( the best shows r the ones they r cancelling this, whose line green screen show and so many more! its not fair!! :'''(

  • TV shows; take note this is how a sitcom intro is done.

  • my personal theme song!

  • Wow, 90's chicks are pretty damn hott.

  • @hazza3 Yes they were--but let's face it--they were trying to get the look of 60's chicks who were the real deal!

  • @hazza3 yep! my generation when i was in high school 91 - 95

  • moon over karma got my love to me tonight, going to cleveland, underneath her silvery light. we're going bowlin' so don't lose her at soulin'. moon over karma tonight!

  • @abchasi27 Actually, it's Moon over Parma (a city near Cleveland) and don't lose her in Solon (also a city near Cleveland)

  • @bookmistress4ever haha thanks, knew i was gonna get it wrong somehow. damn you hearing disorder

  • @abchasi27 I just knew it because I'm from Ohio. lol

  • Cousin Drews' best work!!!!!

  • So, who's the brunette in the brown dress at 1:40? YOWEE

  • @TomKaren1994 HAHA, I've been wondering that since I was 12 years old. Total babe.

  • @TomKaren1994 She was a dancer in the Video like so many of the others. However, Iiked the lady in Blue who was dancing in the Corner. She looks like such a nice lady

  • cool video by drew carery

  • When Ryan Dances In This Video,,He Looks A Little Bit Camp! :D LOL! But I Love Ryan! He's Hilarious! :D <3

  • I Love Ryan's Dance At 0:22,,Although He Looks Abit Camp! :D

  • Good for Drew to celebrate this great oldie.

  • I love Drew Carey (the man is a GENIUS) and I love this song, so this works for me. Drew Carey is one of the FUNNIEST people under the sun!

  • Fantastic Video! Great energy and really the perfect setting for this song! I wonder how many takes they had to make with Drew's three friends bobbing up and down must have been a real work out!

  • cool, christa miller and ian gomez is married in cougar town

  • BTW, the Vogues were great too!!!!!!!!

  • Don't think many people understand how great a production this was..

  • The 20 people who dislike this had to work overtime.

  • my new "good morning" song!

  • man, i miss this show

  • I'm pretty sure the dancer in purple at :38 and 1:45, who several posters mentioned, is Debbe Dunning. She later played Tim's show assistant Heidi for a few seasons on "Home Improvement" after Pam Andersen left.

  • I dare anyone to watch this and be in a bad mood after!

  • @MissShowCat Ya i know i watch it when ever i need a good laugh to bad it got messed up in the end

  • @MissShowCat Tell that to the 21 people who disliked this video ;P

  • shoot, it WAS Cleveland Rocks.

  • Thinking about it, I believe they did dance to this one in the street line dance. That was what made it memorable.

  • 0:13 "The Cleveland Clinic Foundation" Cup. Think I have one of these!

  • Cleveland was fun during that time.

  • Tradin my time for the pay i get... Livin' on money that I ain't made yet. Good song about the woes of living for the $.

  • he bears a resemblence to allen sherman

  • oh, and I STILL like the original theme song Moon Over Parma :)

  • yes, it ran it's course. but was a fun show, and the second or third season they started doing musical numbers... all good fun, but my favorite will always be the Rocky Horror Picture Show fans VS the Priscilla Queen of the Desert bit. This show was creative and broke a lot of molds. Followup with the improv show was awesome. I would love to see Drew do a come back. Come back Drew!! lol

  • I wouldn't be surprised if the Gleeks (Lea, Dianna, Heather, and Company) cover this song soon.

  • Drew Carey don't love Ohio anymore it's becuz they don't hav marijuana dispensaries there. Da price iz wrong bitch

  • Can still hear Ryan Stiles comments: "Give the tall guy more lines!"

  • Yes, Yes. The best opening sequence ever produced for a sitcom. Say what you will about Drew's Republicanism, he was never afraid to try something a little quirky. Best close for a sitcom: M. Phillips and V. Bertinelli lip-syncing Elton John's "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" at the end of an episode of "One Day At a Time".

  • oh another oldie but goodie!!

  • is that christa miller in the blue dress that drew dances with?

  • @Jengibro Thats a different person. Dont know who it is but Christa pops up between Lewis and Oswald at 1:19.

  • @Jengibro That's an actress named Katy Selverstone who played Drew's girlfriend on the show during much of the first and part of the second seasons.

  • They should definitely play reruns of this show.

  • Thanks Njva17420.

  • Can we get this show back on DVD?

  • Where can I watch full episodes online ?

  • Can anyone tell me where I can watch season 2 onwards online for free ?

  • I fucking loved this show while growing up. I need to pick up the seasons on DVD one of these days.

  • I'll be watching this all day. Thanks a lot asshole!!!!

  • This is beautiful!!! I really miss this show. I agree with you, Joeyland!

  • Who is the female dancer in the purple outfit?

  • @znmstr2012 If I am correct, the woman in the purple dress (:45 in the video) is actress Kristen Cloke. She played the teacher (Valerie Lewton, her character named most likely after movie producer Val Lewton -- see "Cat People" from the 1940s) in "Final Destination," 2000. Check out that website.

  • RIP Drew Carey's career. we miss you bud.

  • @TheDudeistPriest OUCH!!! You got that right. Ever since he got the gig to do "The Price Is Right", it's been down hill from there.

  • Hey!

  • This song is strangely appealing to the ear and the dancing strangely appealing to the eye. I seriously don't understand how so few people know this show. I consider this show as one of the greats right up there with Seinfeld, Scrubs and Frasier.

  • @XxSeedOfEvilxX Christa Miller is both in this show and Scrubs AND made a guest appearance in Seinfeld

  • @marvindefudd

    I liked her in Scrubs.

  • @marvindefudd I'm happy for Christa Miller's well-deserved succesful carreer. Although, I can't remember her appearing in Seinfeld. Can you remind me which episode that was?

  • @XxSeedOfEvilxX She was in two Seinfeld episodes, ''The Sniffing Accountant'' and ''The Doodle''.

  • @marvindefudd Btw, I'm uploading The Drew Carey Show on youtube. Check my channel out. I've already uploaded the first episode and will upload the whole first season if people want me to. This show really doesn't deserve to be unknown to so many people

  • @marvindefudd Youtube blocked it due to copyright infringement. If you want the new link let me know. It's on DailyMotion

  • @XxSeedOfEvilxX Well said. This was probably the best TV show intro of all time, and one of the most underrated sitcoms ever! Not as well written as classic Seinfeld or Simpsons, But just as many or more belly laughs than both!

  • @jakovasaur Exactly. I mean I love the constant rants between Drew and Mimi. And the best character in the show is, hands down, Lewis (The Kramer of The Drew Carey Show). Oh, and for those who want to watch the show again, visit my channel on Dailymotion. It has the same profile name as my Youtube channel :)

  • whos that chick at 0:45 any one know

  • why the hell did they stop this to the UK..??

  • @hnk1969

Usual reason is ratings. But if I remember correctly, they changed the times it was shown and I think it ended up in a midnight slot... so you're not going to get too many ratings doing that.

I think it was shown on a satellite channel but not sure which one.

  • I never cared for the actual show, but I always loved this opening.

  • when you look back the song is pretty long. but it was great at the time

  • I miss this show :'(

  • From the time point of 1:37 onwards, they seem to have fun, especially the dance routines. I love the dancing. Looking into the background, there is a black woman dressed in yellow that looks like she is really enjoying herself toward the end.

  • 15 dislikes are wrestling fans

  • same house as rosanne and king of queens?

  • I'd totally go all out on that chick at 1:45

  • i uesd watch his show so funny

  • Wonderful! Like all the Carey "music videos" from that show. I also really liked "Brotherhood of Man" that they did.

  • This intro is amazing, but it doesn't feature Mr. Wick enough. Dilemma.

  • The original theme song was "Moon over Parma", then "Cleveland Rocks" and finally this one. 5 o'clock World was my fave..LOVE THAT SONG!!!

  • Please everyone subscribe to Drew Carey's Improv a Ganza!!! It's coming April 11 to GSN. They post promos that include Ryan, Greg, Brad, Jonathan, Kathy Kinny, and Chip. They will play Whose Line and Green Screen Show games and some new ones. The cast is Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Chip Esten, Jeff B. Davis, Jonathan Mangum, Heather Anne Campbell, and Brad Sherwood, with special guest stars Sean Masterson and Wayne Brady, musical director Bob Derkach, and announcer Rich Fields.

  • The black guy dancing like a Russian was the best :)

  • Congeats Drew!! WWE Hall of Fame

  • I miss this, thanks!

  • CANADIANS UNITE

  • I was channel surfing one time when I saw this and I thought it was so cool! I thought they opened every show with a dance number when I saw the "Cleveland Rocks" one after this. It's just neat to see that office full of people dancing. Looked like it was a lot of fun to make. A lot of coordination, but a lot of fun once the finished product was done. I like that Vogues song anyway, but to see a dance number attached to it -- fabulous. Glad to see Drew land the gig on The Price Is Right.

  • The woman at 0:45 is a fox.

  • There's a bit of a continuity error in this video. When Drew and the gang are driving to work in the film, the background shows them driving south on Interstate 71. Considering Drew lives in Parma in TDCS, I would say that they messed that up.

  • @DonTomPat3 Please just enjoy the video and don't nitpick.

  • @DonTomPat3 There are alot more continuity errors, i can point them out if you like

  • Like you all say, best opening for a show period. I personally liked the version where they danced on the street to this same song but I cannot find it anywhere.

    Joseph F

    Portland, OR USA

  • @B52sguy

Are you sure it was this song? They did go out on the streets for 'Cleveland Rocks'.

  • @langsense I'm pretty sure. I know the "Cleveland Rocks" opening, but I do seem to remember when the crew was dancing on the steps of their building. I could be wrong, but as this is in my own top 50 of songs, I'll keep looking. Thanks for writing back.

    Joseph

  • @langsense

that would be correct, they ran about the streets for cleveland rocks. However, there are 2 covers of this song that they also used.

  • @langsense Pretty sure they did this in the street - was looking for it myself.

  • @B52sguy are you sure your not confusing it with the timewarp segment, or What is hip both from season 2?

  • @CenaTv2 I can't really be sure; I believe I saw it but it was awhile ago and I might be wrong. But I'll keep on looking. Thanks for your info. Appreciate it.
