As for what you just said- where have you studied this? These are the gifts OF THE SPIRIT. They are evidenced by being filled with the spirit. You get saved. Water baptized. Then baptized with the Holy Spirit.(acts 11:16) Jesus has resurrected and sent the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.The spiritual gifts are still for today- you just have to receive.. I hope you will pray about it. Go to God with an open heart, not trying to prove something, and listen to Him

i'm fairly analytical-I'm learning to trust in God. I trust God and as long as God is given the glory, not man, then I'm good! Oh, and I'm not that young- finishing up grad school- so is my spouse (7 years older than me- grew up with traditions but believes that God's Word is still for today). I asked what your definition of a Christian was because being a Christian is to be Christ-like. Jesus got angry at the religious Pharisees and he hates sin, but you must not sin in your anger. The definition of a Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ.. As for "Christ-like".. One can certainly aspire to be; however, in this country/world, one is easily the victim of subjective judgement.

guapobear: You're right we are all subjective to judgement. I strive daily to be more like Christ (some days more than others). As a believer that is baptized in the Holy Spirit I feel that I have a close relationship with Christ. And "Christ like" and "little Christ" are very similar..I did learn where the term Christian came from in my theology class, I was just using that in a conversation I was having with nododon who appeared to have so much anger and hate, but was also quoting scripture...

I've learned long ago that people are fallible, but God is not. My faith has been enlarged by what GOD has done through this revival, not Todd Bentley, not Bob Jones, but God. I've seen God move before, and He has healed me in the past, but I never looked at the man praying for me as the one who healed me-just the vehicle God used to do it. We need to pray for God's discernment before we pass judgement. As for the burnt out sheep, it's their choice to stay, isn't it?

I started watching this on God TV last week in my living room. I wasn't too sure about it so I asked God to show me if it was of Him. Within half an hour I was on my knees crying and praising God...then my hands up to my elbows became hot hot hot and I was slain in the spirit. Last night after a time of praise and worship again tears for God's presence here in my home and the UK. Then my stomach tightened and relaxed. Now my IBS has gone! 3 weeks of pain and it's gone today! Glory to God!
