  • capoeira para estrangeiro ver...

  • This reminds me of my tournament days.(I haven't fought in a competition in a while since my teacher no longer lives in my city) I'd love to go to one of these festivals.

I'd also like to learn Cap...well at least a few of the tactics. My I've been a martial artist for more than half my life so I that should make the training a little easier.

Also...that little kid is really good for his age. Guess he doesn't have to worry about bullies if they're not wielding a gun. XD

  • im still waiting for the day hen somepicks a fight with a martial art expert on a night out in town.

  • none of it is a "rip off"

those with the ability have their own style and emulate the moves

just like styles of martial arts once imitated the animals like tiger, crane, mantis, etc.

    those that can do,

those that can't critique and hate

I can't do this, but admire this so much, same with bboys, same with all styles

  • wow those guys are good all of them and that lil kid could prob fuck me up doin all dat shit haha but have u guys noticed that the movements of the white and blacks doing this seem a little different?its kind of like hearing mexican spanish and spain's spanish the black people seem more idk how to say it cause those white guys did their thang

  • i wish i could do half the stuff these people do

  • Looks so fun!

  • What is the name of the first song?

  • BRAZIL MARTIAL ART - Arte Marcial do Brasil ! Great ! Demais ! :-D

  • Wow, this is so inspirational! Everything about this video is amazing. The little guy at the beginning.. the takedowns.. Everything. I especially like it when a person with long legs does a backflip.

  • the kid is awsomea . Breakdance isa rip-off of capoeira

  • capoeira then is a rip-off african dances.

  • Isso ai e Capoeira Camará!

  • is breaking influenced by this martial art style? i can see some stuff that resembles breaking in there.

  • Break dance take some things on capoeira and make an adaptation of it

  • it's kinda cool, but the distance between fighters makes the kicks look pointless

  • @Humanoids The distance gets bigger when the players want to be flashy

  • Watch this video:

    watch?v=E1CRuWusKoE

In the video above, a group of (very stupid) folks is fighting Capoeira, not playing.

In the end, one of the fighters hits his opponent with a direct kick onto the abdomen.

The hit guy DIES few minutes later, due to rupture of the spleen and internal hemorragy.

When I was 15 years old I lost a colleague because he fought into one of these stupid Capoeira circles, was hit on the head (left temple) and died. He had cranium traumatism and a brain coagulum.

  • That's also why nowadays' Capoeira is better understood as a brazilian cultural expression, created by african slaves living in Brazil. Capoeira is a martial art, but it's also made of various other elements like music, dance, theatrical behaviours and so on.

Finally: you choose the use that you want to make of it. You can fight Capoeira, or you can practice it as a sport and play it just for fun and health. I recommend the second one, however yes, it can be very dangerous if you hit somebody.

  • So the slaves decided to mix those kicks and punches into the N'Golo dance. Every time they "danced" Capoeira, they were also training for fight...

In the later years, african slaves began fleeing from the slavery houses. They built small villages named Quilombos. And when their masters sent henchmen/thugs to the Quilombos, the slaves fought using Capoeira. That's how Capoeira was born.

  • Basic story of capoeira: in old Angola there is a dance called N'Golo. It was danced in the african tribes. The best dancer had the right to choose his wife.

When angolans were held captive and sent to Brazil (to work as slaves to their portuguese masters, Brazil's colonizers), these africans began training kicks and other martial moves inside the slavery houses. However, they had to disguise this informal training from their masters, otherwise they would be punished with death....

  • u mulekinho joga bem

  • capoeira is not an efective martial art, it is mostly an acrobatic dance and a very nice one but No Capoeira guy stand a chance against Kyokushin, taekwondo or Kempo fighter, against real martial arts. Sorry!

  • capoeira no es solo una pelea, es cultura, música, tradición y sobre todo una manera de vivir

    axé

  • No me entendas mal! No intento ofender o nada. El titulo del video es el festibal de Artes marciales de Bercy. Sin duda Capoeira es cultura y Musica. Pero como arte marcial no es la mas efectiva. Sin afan de ofender

  • i know some Capoeiristas that could probably give you a run for your money, many for that matter. Personally i have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, experience in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Kenpo.....and I like Capoeira the most of them all, Muay Thai comes in second. PLus its fun!! I hope one day u can fight a good Capoeirista and see what Im talking about.

  • Thanx mate! It really sounds interesting the way you put it. Mostly if you are a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and still think it's something. I hope I will get a chance one day for a exchange of arts with a Capoeira practitioner. Respect!

  • yeah man being open minded is the, key, ive sample so many martial arts and gone far with them, dont knock what you havent tried

  • ......that is not true....search about master bimba, he created capoeira regional and defeated masters of other martial arts using capoeira.....when in a roda of capoeira you dont aim to hurt or hit the other guy...rodas are games to have fun and show how good you are, in a real fight it would be much diferent, capoeira is culture, tradition and music, a way of living

  • OK. Dude!

  • da hora

  • How am I learned that Brazil was in Brazil in Portuguese and all this guy must be translating something without worth maudade'm Brazilian.

  • You people are so ignorant, these capoeiraistas are very fit, very flexible, very fast and most importantly very unpredictable. If you are not familiar with the ginga or the moves it all can look very odd and you won't see any of the attacks coming, which is the whole idea behind capoeira, a martial art disguised as a dance.

  • how is this anything but martialized break-dancing?

  • isso é capoeira

o menino ali faz cada coisa tambem

olha hoje completa 11 anos que eu faço capoeira

    sou um professor

    nunca vi alguem jogar assim

  • you are making a judgment based on inadequate information. capoeira appears to be a dance, but is a actually a martial art in disguise.

  • beautiful demonstration guys!!!!!

  • Sure the music suck, was created by african and brazillian slaves... simple people humiliated, in the past by rich persons like ur people...oooh no! U're from Malasia!! Certainly u loves malasian songs... anybody knows any Malasian song??? Maybe any Malasian boys band???

Capoeira is the culture of a sorrowed people... and in 1500 there are not eletronical instruments or something like that... capoeira is a trafitional art! It's normal playing and singing traditional songs!...

  • Comment removed

  • I like watching this but MAN. The music suck (sorry).

  • nice

  • 1:36, 1:42, 1:47, 2:03, , 2:09, 6:21, e 6:24

    the rest are sucks!!!

keep training kid!!! you are realy good!!!

  • that kid rocked ass

  • That kid was all up in there... beatin' ass.

    Go little man! Go!

  • That little man was great! Capoeira looks awesome i must try some time, it would be a change from Muay Thai heh.

  • i switch back and forth between the two....it really makes you flexible and strong, and actually helped with my muay thai

  • Those guys rule!! AMAZING VID! 5/5!

  • Actually. Capoeira was created in Brazil by slaves (from Africa). The practice of martial arts and the use of weapons was outlawed. To continue to practice and hone skill (eventually leading to a rebellion), music and rhythym was introduced to mask the actual fighting. The rudimentary foundation behind Capoeira was founded in Angola (Africa), but the actual martial art as we know it today is a Brazilian invention.

  • right on....let them know the history

  • better than you

  • okey thank you both for your responses i will check it out. and OathofCalm you are so right if you really commit to any martial art it can prove very effective. thanks agian.

  • As for tournaments, watch this Video

    Capoeira de Contato

  • Good question Dimajo. Some Capoeiristas actually incorporate it in a fight. you can search for Marcus Vinicios, Andre Gusmao and Rafael Capoeira

  • I think this kind of martial art looks very flashy and beautifull but i have hard time seeing it applied into real combat in the streets or likewise. Yes it is pretty but i doubt very effective? I prefer other Martial Arts like Thai Boxing, Kyokushinkai Karat, ninjitsu, teakwondo and so on.

And now for a question, are there contact tournaments in Capoeira so you can feel that you technique is working? ..

  • I have indeed seen contact capoeira tournaments. Amazing stuff. It proves to show that if you are good in a style, no matter which, you can dish out some major damage. If you choose, of course martial arts is about avoiding a fight if possible. I hope that answers your question.

  • jogo feio...tudo combinado..essa não é a verdadeira capoeira.....

  • that kids legit

  • the little kid will grow

  • That kid in the beginning did an awesome job. Capoeira is (I think) the best martial art.

    JW

  • "Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian blend of martial art, game, and culture created by enslaved Africans in Brazil during the 16th Century." --- Quote taken directly from Wikipedia's main article on Capoeira..

"Capoeira is purely Brazilian. It was never born in Africa. It was created here in Brazil by african slaves. Try travelling to Angola and asking if they know Capoeira. "

  • i know someone from angola and according to what he said there are some capoeira schools over there but the origin of this martial art are in brazil

  • ahhh...yes they do.

  • a good video but i prefer capoeira Brazil

  • That kid is VERY good!

PIękna roda, chciałbym dojśc do takiego poziomu jak oni ! Axe!

  • EL NIÑO ES IMPRESIONANTE

  • muito axe!!!

  • Nice performance being put on.That's Infuckingcredible!

  • that kid is good

  • masteruerzo we never choreograf we just dodge and very rare we block so it looks like choreography

  • that little kid has a heart for capoeira..im 16 and i have done capoeira aslong as him and he is still better than me lol keep it up brother!!!

  • any1 knows if there is a capoeria tournament with contact, not choreografic?

  • Capoeira was developed as a way to slaves exercise and train moves, so usually there's no contact. Almost never there is a choreograph, it's just that for a given move there's a given dodge. About your comment, try to find videos with capoeira and 'vale tudo' or 'jiu jitsu'.

  • Im sorry But That shit look so damn fun. I really really wanna try this.

  • That lil' kid got skills!!
