2:26 4:08:09 What? I think this scene is improvised. "I feel refreshed, that's a brick, we gon cut all that lucky shit" Just warming up baby" dont give me too many
Does anybody know what the last part meant at the very end when Jesus (Ray Allen) held the ball that came out the sky when Jake (Denzel) threw the ball over the concrete wall? Did it mean that he was leaving the game of basketball away.
@MrJamell21 yea man ive thought about that myself!! and i think its left open to interpretation!
but personally, i think it is a symbolic statement that rounds the film off! Jesus expressed his anger and Jake obviously and asked for forgiveness. saying basically that, things have been put to rest, as Jesus said in his statement... But more poigninantly he got his son where he wanted to be and now things are in Jesus' hands... :)
@MrJamell21 I think it shows the only time Jesus tries to connect with his father, the one time Jesus approaches his dad is when he is alone in a gym and throws a basketball to him to reach out. Remember young Jesus threw his father's ball earlier in the movie to effectively end their relationship, a relationship they only really had playing basketball together.
I wondered when he went to Big State if he did that because what his dad meant to others and not because he actually cared about him.
@MrJamell21 you also have to remember the earlier scene when Jesus was a child and Jesus throws the ball over the hoop after getting into that fight with his father. Its reversed now, Jake throws the ball over the fence, right back at Jesus. It puts the opportunity back in Jesus's hands. When Jesus throw's the ball, he was throwing away his career, and the relationship between his father. When Jake throws the ball, he is throwing away his freedom, but gibing his son a second chance
Spoiler Alert: he chose to go to UCONN.
