  • Who is that posing at 1:23??

  • cheers ric, love the show

  • Yeah contraction is the main thing. in fact that is a real tough workout for shoulders - if it is non stop that that is a real over load concept.

  • its funny Dave Draper still trains like that today and he is nice guy

  • I was in elemntary school back in the 70s but remember my brother's BB mags with Arnold, Robbie and those guys. Did not realize that it was a golden age!!

  • you look great ric at 60 .. do you use test? or test booster?

i hope not! not that it matters i still looka tyou as a legend..

    i just wonder .. i am impressed i thought you were 50

  • you look great ric at 60 .. do you use test? or test booster?

i hope not! not that it matters i still looka tyou as a legend..

    i just wonder ..

  • @TheRogueMonk I'm 67 and use 1/2 cc of test a week. That's all.

  • @ricdrasin thank you for the answer.. how much is that? i am not familiar with test

wow i think you look amazing..

i am so happy for. you...

is there any chance that you have any pictures of you shirt off? or atleast something?

i want to inspire my dad..

i hope to be able to train totally natural without any test till i cant anymore..

its been almost like a meditation to me all my life since i was 10

  • @ricdrasin You look great! Nothing wrong with using anabolics for men over 40.Moderation is the key.

  • Well Ric.. Great vid but we both know what Arnold looks like now.. Perhaps u didnt mention him by respect ? He lost all he had.. REAL shame.

  • @UKFetish Actually he's back in Terminator shape. I saw him and he looks great

  • @ricdrasin Ah okies. Well muscles fibers have great memory so that doesnt surprise me. Could u manage to get some shots of him in trunk top or if possible shirtless ?

  • thanks ric, I can imagine the old school feel of training.

  • if there is this video also with german subtitle?

  • Could you get Ed Corney on the show??/do a tribute for Serge Nubret, if you have any stories on him

  • at 2:09 you mention the girl with the big dog, is that the dog you can see in the pictures of franco deadlifting?

  • Ric ! I remember seeing Ken Waller on Peoples Court back in the late 80's or early 90's.

  • I find it ridiculous that such an awesome video like this can get 9000 views yet if some moron acts like an idiot or lip syncs a song they get several hundred thousand views. Im glad im part of the minority.

Keep up the awesome work Ric! We all wish we could go back in time to the golden era, hell i wasn't even born til 1984 lol

  • RIC SO HOW DID THE ARNOLD PRESS BECAME SO POPULAR?

WHAT MADE YOU GUYS NAME IT THE ARNOLD PRESS?

  • Loved the vid, Ric..great info! But I have to ask, you were in the shower with that rainbow-headed girl and you didn't hit it??? lol

  • @conanfiles

    she wasn't that hot.. But........

  • @ricdrasin LOL I wouldn't even worry about the "light test" at that point. :)

  • leroy colbert would be a great interview ..watched a few of the vids on here with him, seems like a top guy

  • By the way this is HISTORY. Ever bodybuilder, casual/amateur/pro should be grateful to these people. They used to be considered "freaks" ...they just stuck to what they believed and loved and at the end they won the world over ...

Probably the BEST clips I have ever seen on bodybuilding. you know Ric could have put all this (just the clips) on a DVD and sold it for a lot of money.

    Thx a million

  • Ric THX a million. how intensely did Arnold and Franco train. The intensity . Also who trained the most intense.? You can train intensely for 1/2 hour and many times that is more3 than training 5 hours.

  • Ric, just a little confused on how many reps you do per 5lbs increase. Do you go to failure every 5lbs? Also once finished going up the rack do you rest before going down it again?

Awsome vid ric, thanks for all the great info!

  • @350anp maybe 6 to 8 reps

  • Everything here is amazing! I'm an avid amateur body builder I guess you'd call it, I'm 18 and I started training a year ago at 118 lbs and now I'm 159lbs with the same body fat% , and I hope to make another 20-30 lbs in the next year, do you have any advice as to what is good to eat and how often to eat? and also the shoulder routine sounds real hardcore; how many reps were you doing per 5 lb increase? I might be wrong but its sounds to me like by the end you'll be doing like 4-7 reps or so

  • @mdias5907699 That's right. I talk about our diet in the other videos and training as well. Big muscle groups can take more reps. Smaller one small reps or it'll kill the growth and over train it. High Protein, Low carb just as I say in all the vids. Thanks for commenting

  • @ricdrasin So its not just biceps then? I heard a a lot about biceps easily getting overtrained. Thanks for all the advice, keep em coming!

  • Could you please do a video on Ken Waller please Ric? I have heard he had a very interesting chest routine (no flat bench press?) - did decline bench, dips and flyes? Would really appreciate it..

  • i don't know how these vids don't have more views!

  • Oh my god Ric,you're talking about all those things of bodybuilding i believe in! I love this era 70s when bodybuilding was about rather hard work than synthetic fancy world like today.I feel ,guys like yourself too were some kind of gladiators, using free weights mostly, lifting heavy weights, putting mind and soul into exrcises, eating common foods compared to guys' food today etc. That's the real inspiration to me since my childhood! You give me strength just like Arnold!

  • This is great!!!!! The real soul of BB, Love this stuff from the pioneers of the gym!!! Thanks Ric your a ledgend,

  • Ric, I wonder if you can talk in one of your futures Vid's about Pierre Vandensteen - I mean this guy was Incredible ripped and cut, how did he trained? We know so little about him and yet he problably had the best abs in the History of Bodybuilding. - Thanks and keep up the good work. - Regards.

  • I know who he is but know nothing about him, only the guys at Gold's Venice. But I'm open to interviewing people like him.

  • love the old gym photos those photos are priceless of back in the past

  • hey ric how much does your school cost.

  • Hey Mr. Ric do you think that a guy weighting 162 pounds can become muscular?

  • Very cool! You are a great storyteller- all recorded in one take. nice!

  • This is fascinating and wonderful stuff, keep em coming, Ric!!!!

  • did u ever work out with superstar billy graham?

  • Yes, we'd train at Gold's and then lay in the sun on my patio that overlooked the beach. Great guy

  • good stuff ric keep em coming

  • haha your soo cool and lucky :P

but i have a joke for you :P

    Arnold: I' L BE BACK!

Arnold 2009 : OUCH MY BACK!

    hehe mean i know :/

but it was funny at the time Hehe

  • This is the best, Rick!! Absolutely 5***** You could continue this series and it might just be the MOST VIEWED bodybuilding videos on YouTube!
