My grandfather has just gone into a retirement home with Alzheimers and I was asked from my dad if there was anything i would like to take from his bungalow as a keep sake. I asked for his handmade piano stall and sheet music.
Amongst the pile i'm currently sifting through is 4 original sheets with autographs of 'Joe Loss and his band' - thats how i ended up here just now. . .
I love the old band sound. Joe Loss & his orchestra is no exeption to the beautiful music. During the war, his band had a song called "Silver Wings In The Moonlight" If anyone knows how I can get a copy, I'd be forever grateful. My late father was buried with his 78rpm copy last Sept. It was the song for him & Mom during the time he joined the RCAF. I hope someone out there can help me. Please..no Ann Shelton versions..it must be Joe Loss.
@ConstanceMarkiewicz If you have that copy..would you PLEASE post it on Youtube if possible. That song means so much to me..but it must be by Joe Loss. The female voice is Betty..but I can't recall her surname.
It should say on the label. I would be forever grateful!!!
@ConstanceMarkiewicz Hi Constance...I was wondering if you had the opportunity to post "Silver Wings In The Moonlight" by Joe Loss & his Orchestra. It means so very much to me.
I had this great song some years ago, but I can't recall exactly who sang it. It could have been Ella Fitzgerald. I love this post, and thank you for sharing it.
