o'h my goodness I watched this when I was 4 and im now 24,when I watched this I had to go with mum to pick my sis up from school and then going for a big dump in my pants LOL.oh the memories...
I haven't seen this in about 20-25 years. After I saw it, it made me cry. And I'm a guy in my 30's... I dont know why.. there's something about seeing a flashback of my childhood now that I'm all grown up.
yup! Well, Woov Woov was how it was originally spelled. I know alot of folks hate Wikipeida, but it does provide real info. Check it there...Barkley (Muppet character) and see what u get.
Yep. He used to be named "Woof Woof". But he's been Barkely ever since 1978. Gordon just one day decided he didn't like the name "Woof Woof" and told Bob he thought Barkely would be a better name. Bob prefers Woof Woof. So everybody in the neighborhood gets together and votes on it, but it's a tie. So in the end, the dog has to choose his name by deciding which group of people calling him he'll come to. Needless to say, he picked Gordon's group. So Barkley it's been ever since.
They didn't ask me either, but seeing as I was negative 4 years old and technically nonexistant, I wasn't in a position to vote anyway. (I only know the episode from seeing it in a museum in New York)
I remember that I wanted to play with Barkley the dog when I was little. I was always envious of the kids in the end credits.
I also used to wonder how the kids disappeared behind the tree. I thought maybe they used a transporter or something (I used to watch Star Trek with my dad and brother when I was little too.)
I know you made the logo look blurry because you didn't want it to get deleted. I think you could still get this video taken away because it still might look like it has terms of use violation.
God I wish Barkley were real...I thought he really WAS when I was a kid. I thought Snuffy, Big Bird and Barkley were real but the 'hand' puppets were fake. Hehe!
This ending followed the one with the little kid's hands on the steering wheel of a car if I remember correctly. Notice the car driving in the background as the kids vanish behind the tree. Simple camera trick but played very well when Barkley can't figure out how they did it
I don't think anyone has it, since it's out of reach of most VCRs (ending around 1980) and none of the Friday episodes from the mid to late 70s that Noggin aired were "regular" ones, as opposed to special ones like where they went to Hawaii.
I always felt bad for Barkley when they did that!

I'd also like to point out that I notice a lot more correct spelling and grammar from posters than the average youtube video. Thanks Sesame Street.

Alright Then, What was going on at the end of this episode, at the time of Gordon's announcement.
HartCourtMonopoly 4 years ago
Big Bird wants to tell everyone to go to school and learn to count backwards, using his megaphone. Gordon announces the sponsors.
lemonsters2008 4 years ago
This was from before 1985 because, the credits started to scoll in 1985.

This air in what year?
jasperhoraceglobe 4 years ago
Since the credits aren't yet the "scroller" type, this puts it somewhere between 1980 and '85, I think.
Marbles471 4 years ago
And looking again, since Kevin Clash's name is there, this would have to be 1983 or 1984.
